Coming from a Mississippi State fan, this game was sooo heartbreaking. But also such a good game. I was so proud of our boys and how they played. Unfortunately play calling got us beat. Plus, Bama just showed up at the end and deserved the win. Hail State For Life. Here's hoping this year's game is just as good.
Most Alabama fans probably wouldn't agree but last year would've been a way better game than 24-0 if Nick Fitzgerald wasn't playing in that game. It was fine with Dan Mullen in this one because his offense is built around running but he didn't fit Joe Moorehead playbook, who likes to throw more than Mullen. It sucks because the defense played Bama tough and held them to 24 points when they could've easily scored 40-50.
I remember the Tide going into Starkville back in 1992 in a similar situation. It took late guts and heroics to pull it out, this was just the tonic Alabama needed then and now.
@@ryantompkins9816 lol y’all act like this defense was stopping everybody. Pass rush on this team was average and coverages were consistently busted. 2019 D was poor, true. But 2020 & 2021 were top ten defenses as well
Our missing linebackers really showed during this game. The last time we got run on like that was against Georgia southern which was a triple option team
The problem was they consistently got that 3.5 yard per carry, thus a first down. In the 2 games, LSU & Colorado State, where teams had a slightly higher yards/carry, the average was inflated because of a few larger runs.
• Sir Chxrles Beats • we definitely should’ve won. I don’t blame the “Ridley stepped out play” for why we lost. It might have changed the outcome, but I point to our 2nd to last possession when we went 3 and out and Mullen had the worst play calls for that situation
• Sir Chxrles Beats • idk about that. Mike Leach has THE offense to beat Nick Saban. In most of the games Saban has lost, its the deep ball that is the back breaker. I don’t mean to give myself a shoutout, but if you’re not following my account on Twitter, you definitely should! It’s @FQMissState
Shaq McFlyy by struggling against a two lost team and beating them in the final minute? Sure maybe pushed through adversity but you should have smacked the holy hell out of these fools for the #1
@@Kazaam818 Ranked teams are always tough to beat on the road, if they aren't overrated. Not only that, this is basically a rivalry game because of how close the two schools are and rivalry games are almost always tough to win on the road. Alabama doesn't have to "smack the holy hell" out of teams to justify their ranking. Especially since other highly ranked team struggle against unranked teams and no one says shit about them.
what I will never understand is they say leaping to block a kick is a danger to the player so it's illegal. ok I get that. so if that is the case. that it is about player safety. then why is it not also illegal to leap and try to hurdle a tackler by a runner? that looks to me far more dangerous than leaping to block a kick.
Leaping is not illegal for a running back because running backs usually run the ball. When you run the ball it’s ok to hurdle because it’s an open field carry but when it’s a reception or interception hurdling is not allowed because it’s not an open field run
the rule applies to defensive players that are leaping to try and block a FG or punt. New rule that they put in place this past offseason. I don't like it, but it's for player safety.
I'm a bama fan, but keith holcombes pass interference penalty was in the end zone, so by rule the ball should be at the 2 yard line right??? Not sure why it was just 15 yards....
Almighty Phil I really like Jalen. I think he is a first class kind of kid. I just think Tua is better at the QB position than Jalen. that is not a knock on Jalen as a person or being disrespectful. now I did see in this game times when Jalen kept his feet under him and threw the ball with accuracy. and if Jalen works on his feet work there is no reason he can't become better as a passer. and I have every idea Jalen will do what he has to, to become a better passer. if for no other reason than the Kid Tua can take his job. iron sharpens iron.

I am proud of Jaylen as a football player, but I told you guys Tua was better. I told you before this game. Other people said the same thing, but all the negative comments came. The eye don't lie!
There has been cowbells in Starkville and bowl games since I can remember first watching bulldogs games. I'm almost 30 now. If I'm not mistaken NCAA allows us to have them as long as they are not rung while play is being ran. If you listen majority of the bells stop when Bama gets on the line of scrimmage and changes to screams....seems in regs to me. Until those bells begin to clang while play is in progress and disrupting the snap of the ball they won't consider taking anything......
They shoulda put Tua in this game and against Auburn that year we woulda beat em both by 2-3TDs. Love jalen but I’m sorry he’s not #13! There’s only 1 Flyin Hawaiian 🌺!
if Bama beat auburn that year if tua was in no UCF would have been in the mix at all and there would be a clear champ to the whole of college football.
The reason why dan can’t win the big ones. Up by 4 on their 9 yard line , Kick a fg , running into the kicker to make it 4th and 1 from the 4 , Dan takes 3 instead of sealing the game. Prime example of why dan could never win the big one

same rankings and records too
I remember these days... back when we had a defense 🤦🏾♂️🥺😢
Don't leave out the running game
Here after the 2020 season and boy do I miss it

Keith Holcombe lowlight reel

Indeed, Saban said he's never coached a team with this many injured starters. It sucks.
shit through a tin horn
They averaged only 3.5 yards/rush on us
Watching the game, it seemed like quite a bit more than that.

Evans is a beast. The dude's everywhere.
thanks, i always look forward to these
Been to many Mississippi State games. This game was the most fun, but most heart breaking one I’ve ever attended
Same I was there, the atmosphere was insane (we should have won

Reece Monroe alright I’ll check it out
9:38 Ridley steps out and ref throws his hat and never called it as a state fan this one hurts
He never stepped out…don’t be like auburn fans.. You lost.
@@tonythetiga4697 Nah man, he definitely stepped out of bounds.
Looking back at this day. We really had em
Put Najee in at LB. He played LB in high school. No way he could be worse than Holcombe.
this aged bad lol
Drewspacito Not really I assume he meant they should’ve put Najee in at LB for this game only and not as a permanent position
Alabama won the National Title.
We ain't got no kicker
30:07 should’ve been a touchdown pass on the left shoulder. Who in the world was Nick throwing to???!?!?!
I was at that game roll tide jalen is the best jalen thru that ball to Calvin Ridley they are the best
Mullen good coach but can not call plays consistently but we did have a Qb that couldn’t throw consistently either
The cowbells are annoying
M Beaty Oh boo hoo, cry me a river
Folks dont understand,,,,the SEC is freaking rough foot ball.....
Davonte Smith's job description; catch massive game winning TDs

Yeah, was thinking that, also. An LSU runner nearly gave Fitzpatrick a concussion the week before doing just that.
Fitzgerald, not Fitzpatrick
Michael Berry What?
I thought you were referring to the MSU qb, he's Nick Fitzgerald, not Fitzpatrick. No biggie.
I could never understand a top coach like Dan Mullen blitz 5 times with 1:00 left in the game sounds very fishy too me..... just play prevent.....
So, why is leaping okay if you’re a running back but not anyone else? Doesn’t make sense to me.
Yeah. I guess that cleats to the face is okay.

Jalen Hurts passing won this game, but of course he won't get credit for it, instead some will just point out what they see is negative!
Now can you guys start putting respect on Jalen’s name?

Should’ve put Tua in “just to mix things up”
🤷🏾♂️
I was there.. those dang cowbells
Even at home, listening in surround sound. It was just HORRIBLE sounding.
No excuse in them being allowed. By the rule book they should be illegal, but the NCAA/SEC doesn't have the balls to enforce it against them.
I think its security that looks the other way. They didnt have any cowbells at the UGA game.

its hard to mask bad linebacker play
