    I received a call from a local number. The lady was Indian, and she was asking about my Dish subscription. I've never had a Dish subscription, so I asked her if she was out of Kolkata. The phone call ended there. I owe this channel and a few others for helping me identify these scams.

      @Ryan Spikowski just as what you see if you're an OG in this channel you'll see and notice that their tactic is always once, you just fill a form they tell you they're gonna refund you, they use Command Promt to edit system files and makes you see that they have refunded you but here is the trick. They instead of putting the exact number they put extra 0 so they tell you, you have to go to the bank neither any store like a gift cards. and give them the rest which they didn't even refund you. So you lose everything

    I came across this channel a few days ago because my father recently lost a lot of money that was meant for his retirement plan due to a scam. We tried everything to get the money back, but unfortunately the caller could not be traced. Even though it went unfortunate for us, I am very happy to see that there are still people who stand up to these people and at least make it a little harder for them to scam. I know very little to nothing about coding and computers so would actually be interested in more technical details regarding how the scammers change stuff on a website, I had no idea you could do that. I figured they were editing screen shots or something

    • @solandras666
      @solandras666 Год назад +4

      It's basically what he showed on here. Everytime you are on a website the site sends code to your computer, so it knows how it should look, what information to display, play videos on youtube, etc. What they do is basically edit it after the site already sent it to you, so what you see on your screen only is changed. However if you were to refresh the page or go onto it with any other device it would get the original information that (in the case) the bank has, because they aren't changing the code/info the bank actually has, only what you are seeing.

    The other day my father was changing his wi-fi over to another company, my father was asked to scan a QR code from the box for instructions of set-up. For an odd reason, not sure if it was the QR code itself or the actual app that he had but he ended up being brought to some sort of website. He thought this was already for his account with the service for some odd reason? However signed up for a supposed subscription on this super sketchy website without me really catching whiff of it, mostly as I was plugging the actual systems in. Navigated the site for about ten, thirty-seconds after he claimed he couldn't find the instructions and laughed about how the set-up just had a huge red flag over it, again, had no idea he " subscribed " to this service. I ended up just finding a tutorial for setting up the box over RUclips and was successful. Only had to call back to the company twice for a couple of questions but they were answered relatively swiftly. I had simply figured just downloading the app from the Play Store based off the model and finding a credible channel to follow the steps would be much better than trusting a website like that and continuing to search for supposed instructions that were never there.
    However, my father later sat and informed me about fifteen minutes later about how he was looking for the site again after we set-up this box and informed me that he was going to try and call and cancel a subscription, that he had already typed in his credit card information for it. I was baffled, seeing he actually watches your content and others who do the same work as you. I told him to just lock up his card and call his bank in the morning, however, still called the number on this sketchy site and only after they asked for the credit card information I'd say a couple minutes in the call, did he finally believe me, did what I told him.
    My father can unfortunately be stubborn and try to do things by himself for two hours before even calling up the company, even with a ton of convincing. He simply doesn't like to listen sometimes, as much as I love and care for him, I swear I hope it doesn't lead him into a scam he isn't aware of and his money taken before it's too late.
    I wish I remembered the site right now, all I know is it had the typical shows, movies or whatever but also had a whole tab for apps and games to download? The actual set-up just gave me super bad vibes about it, never had an internet company ask to subscribe to something just to get access to their internet app. I'm not sure if for an odd reason that the actual member that came out to deliver the boxes was a part of the whole website scheme or not. I don't want to doubt it as of course, as there are of course, mules that work with these call centers and the such but... Still something I'll mention. However, please don't use this to distrust your providers or future providers and their employees that may deliver boxes to you, in case you cannot access and drive out to collect it yourself, just something I would be aware of! We just happened to have this experience ourselves and I'm personally unsure of where the problem lies in regards to it either being the QR code reader, the QR code itself or other outside factors.
    I don't have the brightest memory, however if I ever recall or someone somehow recognizes what I'm speaking of, I will edit this comment with the actual name to allow others to be aware of the site and those similar to it!
    Thank you for making these videos Pierogi! I'm still so glad so many people are becoming aware of all of these scams thanks to your content, as well as a few others! It's still upsetting and honestly so sad some people have to live such miserable lives to rob people of their money, however you're helping to allow others to learn and be aware of these situations and saving them from having to go through such harmful experiences with these scammers

    When ever am seeing a strange email talking about subscription that I don't even know or an unauthorize billing of some money that I didn't approved, the first persons I call is my bank to know what happens in my account and the real amount. Besides that the lessons I learned from SCAMMERS PAYBACK is a plus.
