It was an incredible match that's going to lead to a longer program. I'm so happy to see Copeland be so generous because, let's be real, if he was Hogan or HHH, it would have gone down differently.

Copeland winning could still lead to a longer program and they would have got a great pop and moment.

Christian Cage and Adam Copeland always produce gold and I hope these two have more singles matches. The finish gave Christian Cage the big win, protected Copeland because he was screwed and moved the story forwards. It also made sense because of what happened to her son yet some fans really enjoy moaning at anything and everything and that won't ever change.

You're right about that. Toxic fandom is the way of the world now, and wrestling is not immune to it. There was just never an alternative brand to make that toxicity come out. Remember when all these fans used to hate on WWE, but then religiously watch it? Now, the toxic fans sense of threat (in AEW) and have circled the wagons around their favorite TV wrestling show. It's actually fun to watch, and yet sickening at the same time.

Amen we were spoiled with WWF/WCW/ and ECW all going strong at the same time , if one show had something or someone I wasn't interested in I changed over to nitro or raw and vice versa.

It was great to see Shayna Wayne turn baby face and join the hard working underdog that had to fight for everything he’s whole career, against the spoilt company man who was handed every opportunity, even being handed a title shot after only 1 previous singles match. (Only about 50% serious comment)

My problem with the angle is that she was about to get her brains scrambled by Cage who was given the chair by her son. And then when Nick was about to get hit by Edge she didnt show any effort to stop him or anything. So you cant really pull the mama bear card out afterwards 🤷🏿♂️ and ill say it again, bruh was about to let his mom get her brains scrambled by the guy she just joined up with 🤦🏿♂️😂 make it make sense 🤔🤷🏿♂️

I have liked wrestling all my life but I like wrestling that makes sense. In that case WWE is better at booking but I do like AEW's attempt to not be as Pg but their booking and constant high spots you can see a mile away, has made me watch AEW hardly at all tbh 🤷♂️
So, I went through the comments looking for some possible insight into how the Copeland-Cage saga might play out over the next month or even longer. Most of what I saw is "I can't believe this match was on free TV." Well, for all of you, there is no such thing as free TV. You are paying for it every bit as much as if it was a PPV. A large portion of that $85-150 you pay each month goes to paying TBS, TNT, ESPN, ABC, CBS, USA and so on to allow the cable company to air their programming product. These networks do not just give it away for free, or else you wouldn't even need cable. Yes, they make a lot more money off advertising, which helps keep some of those fees down. But make no mistake ... it is NOT free TV.
I love the items you point out about the promotions. I don’t care who is in which promotion as long I get fun and engaging story lines.

So no, it's not just casual fans. It's also sad sacks on their podcasts, praying for 1990s era muscle beach bodybuilder types to come back, as not every second or third wrestler, but every wrestler, and saying it's guys like Joe (whos doing great work with MJF) who are killing the company.

I didn't watch Dynamite until last night, but when I heard there was a "screw job" at the end. I honestly thought Beth Phoenix came out and smashed Adam in the head and joined Christian. So I was kind of excited. I'm like, hmmm wonder where this will go. But no... This was different. So... I was disappointed. Lol
You should be talking about why everyone thinks sting is done with aew because he's only going to wrestle his last match & no others. I think he's earned the right to pick & choose what he wants to do.
I honestly don't want to see them in a crazy TLC match... Both have a history of major injuries and at this point I care much more about Adam Copeland & Jay Reso than Edge & Christian... Please please don't let them kill themselves

Someone on another channel stated that if you had Swap out the Dynamite logo for a Smackdown logo, and have the main event featuring Christian cage versus Adam Copeland in Montreal, there would have been 5000 more people in that arena (not to say what it would be in the ratings). His point was that there are a large portion of fans today that don't care as much about the actual wrestlers as much as they do the promotion. And I'm starting to believe that. When you got folks saying that Grayson Waller and Austin Theory are putting on better matches than Swerve Strickland and Jay White, you know they can't be watching for the wrestlers.
It's because of the production quality, the in ring story telling. It's the build up to the matches, the structure. WWE has so much more experience in all of those categories and they don't have an owner that is the biggest mark in wrestling and is constantly so worried about what the other company is doing, that's it's affecting there product big time. Notice though one of the names you said, Swerve Strickland. Most of the guys that do put on great matches are ex WWE guys. Why, cause they know how it's supposed to be done. Of course Adam and Christian was going to be good, they learned from the best. What I said is the reason why. The biggest mistake Tony made was buying ROH when you still trying to establish AEW. I just think since then the product has suffered majorly and Tony needs to honestly sell ROH, stop worrying about what WWE is doing, and focus on AEW. They need to stop renting these giant venues that they can't fill and do smaller venues. I mean the very best thing that could happen is if Tony hires someone that knows what they doing and just be the owner. I watch all wrestling, I'm a fan of it all. But when I see issues I'm going to point them out. AEW has been having problems. I mean come on, one of there founders left and came back to WWE in Cody. I mean think about it, things are so bad over there that CM Punk went back to WWE. So, if Punk went back to WWE and did nothing to try and stay in AEW, that should tell you something. I personally don't see AEW lasting another 4 years. This whole situation is so similar to the WCW situation it's creepy. People that weren't around back then can say you know what happened, how it all went. No you don't. You getting it second hand, you had to live it to really see the similarities. Its uncanny. Thing is WCW had been around for many years at this time. I mean almost to the T, some same things have happened and it's only a little over 4 years.

Some opinion (WWE doesn't create better wrestlers. Almost all main roster stars were indie stars first. They HIRE them and teach them to work their style. If you preferred lucha, or Japanese, or British style matches, your opinion would differ.) Some fallacies (CM Punk didn't leave. He was fired for cause).

I totally disagree with you... This match ending was horrible because the focus and trigger for the result was some guy's mom. 2 amazing wrestlers in a dream match we never thought we could see was messed up, not by another important person everyone cares about that would make the story interesting, but some guy's mom. If you can think of it, well just factually like that, it's hard to NOT say this sucked. This didn't protect anyone. to make it worse, some guy's mom knocked out Adam Copeland easily ... He couldn't block it, he couldn't do anything.... Makes him look like crap. She didn't shoot him or hit him with a truck, it was a belt. Adam Copeland is now a guy that any wrestler's mom can knock out. How can anyone like that?

I was there live, they missed a great pop.
But that's AEW they always, always, always... ALWAYS pull the trigger too late.
Remember the Acclaimed, they were RED HOT in NY and didn't win. TK had them win 2-3 weeks later, the pop and moment wasn't as great and the perfect time to do the switch had passed.
Great match overall but the referee selling kind of toke me out.

The sequel features a character named Abby. And (SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER) Abby kills Joel. Because, to protect Ellie (something that meant forsaking a cure for a world ending virus), Joel killed a bunch of scientists, including Abby's parents.
And people sent the voice actress who played Abby DEATH THREATS. For playing a character. In a video game.

And here's the thing: I don't think that people are upset because if doesn't make sense.
I genuinely think people are upset because they lack empathy. They're unable to put themselves into her shoes, so they rage against it.
It's the same thing with Abby. Objectively, she's a very relatable character IF you can express and experience empathy.
Personally, I like that she was clearly torn between the two of them the entire time.
It wasn't just a split second decision, she was very clearly considering hitting both of them.
I didn't hate it because a guy who shouldn't even be on tv now has his mommy in the main event. It's because I lack empathy.

The end of the match was stupid
To each their own....but for me it was way too predictable and lact real drama. Her job of acting utterly ruined the angle and honestly ruined the story as a whole for me. So at this point cannot wait for the story to be done and these performers to move on from this garbage/waste of time.

Do not think for a second any of these matches will even come close to the excitement of a Premier League game, let alone the Luton-Arsenal game! Big props to Luton for going head-to-head with Arsenal. Anyway, this is regular TK booking, but now with points. Unfortunately Jay Lethal and Mark Brisco will not score a single point.

Ah ... that depends what you like. I will watch ANY wrestling match (pro, amateur, high school) over any Premier League game because I enjoy the sport of wrestling and find soccer (football outside the US) quite boring. I've tried to watch it over and over again, gave it all the chances in the world and just have never been moved by it. No biggie. I am not excited about auto racing or equestrian show jumping either. As I said, it is all preference.

The people saying this sucks for AEW are forgetting that we have had this same kind of match ending for literal years with the Bloodline in WWE. When was the last time the referee did not get knocked down in a Roman Reigns match? Since before he became champion...? This is bog standard BS that the WWE has used for decades. At least AEW made it more interesting this time.

I would like to point out that if WWE was to make this kind of match in current wrestling era, the wrestling fans would complain and call out WWE for their booking. Yet when AEW signs legends and give them titles, nobody is speaking about it and treating AEW like some kind of God's child... What a joke we wrestling fans have become...

I don't think Cage needs the TNT title to keep his "Patriarchy" gimmick alive, his mic skills are more than enough.
The only time I want to see a vet Christian's age with a title is if he's elevating really young/green talent to eventually drop to them. Unless they're waiting for Jack Perry to come back & take the TNT title from Cage, there's no point in having the belt on Cage.
That title is supposed to be put in bangers on free tv every week, which helps establish up & coming workers in their (near)primes.

This was a great match, I just wish it was on the PPV. My problem is they went full TNA with the ending. I respect Shayna Wayne is trying, but it's clear she has no idea what she is doing out there. It's like no one walked her through what to do ahead of time. I mean we are going to get a rematch at the PPV, which is fine in the end. I do worry they are going to try some get Beth involved with a match against Shayna Wayne, who is not a wrestler.
So AEW is E and C now? Wow. So revolutionary.
The one thing I disliked about the match is they are screwing up Adam's Entrance - too much smoke and he only runs to one side of the ramp - for a match of this sort of magnitude in their careers even though it was on free TV you'd think they would get the entrance a bit better

Nick Wayne's mom isn't a wrestler. Why is she being booked in these segments? Her hitting Copeland with the title looked atrocious.
We're not complaining about the story continuing. We're complaining because the ending was executed poorly.
There has always been booking of non wrestlers in wrestling. From family members to celebrities. This is an old tradition. Her hitting Copeland looked exactly as it should've look; Good. She went with the movement and the belt felt like it landed right in Copeland's face. This "atrocious" is nothing but an exaggeration on your part.
I'm clearly failing to see the point of view of those that are upset by this. But it could be on account of the noise from the usual vitriolic hate AEW gets for whatever they did this week. So, who knows.
But the match was good and the ending was executed fine. Referee gets bumped, shenanigans ensues. Feud continues.
