Another cracking video, Brian. Driving a train takes a lot of skill. I think its under-appreciated by the general populace. But it is certainly appreciated by me and my fellow subscribers. I sub to Don Coffey too - love his cab-ride vids. Keep up the good work with these videos.
Great videos 👍🏻 I’ve learnt so much about 66’s from you now, keep up the good work. Coming from a HGV background and talking about ‘air pressure’ it all makes sense from what you have described 👍🏻
if i was to see u at a station stopped and i was train spotting could i ask you to take pics from the cab. like i give you my cam and i stay on the platform?
Interesting stuff Brian. I recorded Trafford Park to Wembley recently so can relate to where your train is berthed. We scooted through and caught the stopper to Euston then pass back to Piccadilly.
‘Ow do Brian. Re: wagon parking brakes: is there a preferred choice of vehicles, such as the 1st 3 behind the loco, to which the parking brake should be applied?
as i am a truck driver but only have 44ton gross i do not film as it takes up too much time and most of my loads are bonded and i cannot film where im going yes i do scotland to spain regular but i can only drive so many hrs a day and need my rest like you
I had a nose about from the bridge over the Hinksey yard today in Oxford, and could hear that high pitched oscillating idle of a 66 from far away - and it continued for the half hour I was there and didn't move. What is that sound - what is it that is left on and why? Cheers for this great content!
@@beeble2003 Ok - thanks It's a very distinct sound you can hear it in his video - has a distinct 2 tone sound to it like an alarm. Just wondering why it always seems to be on while idling for maybe an hour.
Excellent description of how the 66 is safely parked. Anyone watching this channel can see safety is your number one priority - unfortunately you will always get those "woke" warriors criticising your channel and what your doing. Looking forward to watching further uploads. Cheers Euan
Oh do shut up. You Right wingers always start on about "woke this" and "woke that". Change the record and learn to type. Oh and FYI it's you're*. Furthermore, get a real model railway: the N gauge is nonsense.
Salute from Union Pacific country, thanks Brian🇬🇧🇺🇸👍

Loving these kind of videos, so thank you for explaining it all to everyone.
Awesome video once again Brian, your channel is doing very well already! 753 and 780 are quite attached to you lol

Hoping at some point to have you on my loco for a cab ride Don
Where are the emergency brakes on the class 66

The high-pitched component of the engine noise is the turbocharger, if that's what you're asking about.

@@studiomilo The turbocharger is an integral part of the engine.
If the train isn't going anywhere for an hour, would it save diesel to shut it down, or would restarting it at the end of the hour use more?
No they burn more on startup than leaving it running. It also means the air in the train can be lost and it would require handbrakes being applied
So random question haw do you go to the toilet and where ? Is there a toilet on board
No there isn’t pick a bush when you’re stopped
@@Traindriverbrian1 bloody hell no curry’s the night before a shift then blimy ..👍🏼

Would hope it was everyone's priority!
if you are interested, you have been noticed by NR employees and word is spreading of your channel, expect more subs soon😄
What a bore!!
