Well, Johnny, that's the place I was living for 5 years. You're just hostile to the West, while, I can look back on living 5 years in Nanjing. Bringing back great memories: Xuanwu Lake, Laomendong, Jinimingsi, Fuzi Miao, Niushoushan....and there is still much more to discover. This video doesn't include Shizishan, Tangshan and Mouchou Hu. Nanjing cityscape is a bit dull but is a very ancient city with lots of historic sights. Xuanwu Lake, remains from the city wall and Jimingsi are located just next to each other and are among the top 10 sights in China. Otherwise, Nanjing has no real skyline and its subway system is far behind other Chinese tier 2 cities (probably that's why it's not shown here)

Nanjing is my hometown, a city that has experienced many hardships, the ancient capital of six dynasties, and a city that combines ancient and modern times. I like it very much, except that it is too cold in winter and too hot in summer.
not six,but ten. “The ancient capital of the Six Dynasties "is the title given to it by the people of the Tang Dynasty. Six just continued the title of the Tang. Because the culture of that period was very brilliant.
After the Tang Dynasty, there were also the famous Ming Dynasty (which established its capital in Nanjing and implemented a two capital system in China, with Nanjing being the capital of the south) and the modern Republic of China, as well as some small dynasties in between. Nanjing is one of the four ancient capitals of China and the only one located in the south among them.
Nanjing is also the only ancient capital among the four great ancient capitals that is always established by Han Chinese (the main ethnic group in China is the Han Chinese)😢

Happy 2024 to you too 🎉 My pleasure, it was a bit of a last minute decision to make this but I saw so many beautiful things this year I wanted to put them together in one video.
Another wonderful video Adam. ❤ Great to see a compilation of so many of your experiences. Really great cinematography and beautiful music to accompany it.❤ Really appreciate the time you take to put this together and give us a glimpse of real life in China. 😊Thanks for sharing. Wishing you a very Happy New Year Adam and look forward to seeing more of your fascinating videos. ❤ Peace and Love to you. ❤❤
Thank you for this video. What a beautiful depiction of both country. Beautiful society, peaceful and lovely for both UK and China, I can't believe if the west want war and disturb such a peaceful society in both country. Instead, how lovely it is if we can both go back and forth to enjoy both country in these peaceful surrounding.

I suppose to some extent we can’t have all good, we can’t appreciate dark without light, good without bad etc but maybe all the chaos in the world will one day draw more people towards peace ✌️it is lovely to enjoy both countries.
I’ve just recently discovered your channel, Adam. It’s wonderful to see the ordinary life of China again. I lived in Changzhou for 6 years and got stuck out of China when I went on Holiday and the pandemic struck while I was away. By the time I was able to return, I had committed to a job in Australia (my home country) and I haven’t been back since. Next year I’ll finally be visiting for a couple of weeks in April, my favorite time. Can’t wait to wander around some of my favourite places in Jiangsu Province again! I love your cat and corgi too. Thank you for sharing so much 🙏
Thank you Ann, for your kind words 🙏 That's a shame that you got locked out during covid, it happened to so many people I know here, those were such unusual and strange times. Late March, early April is the perfect time to be here, with the cherry blossoms and comfortable temperature. Australia is on my list of countries I've always wanted to visit! thanks again!
Meaningful Tittle and lifestyle, so are your videos Adam. I'm sure nothing can stop your will and your kindness.. especially to animals ! All the best to you 2024 and the coming years !
Thank you very much for your kind comments over the last year 🙏🏻👍🙂 All the best to you in 2024 and the future, I am sure it will be filled with joy and peace.
At 24:54 mark, you show 1000 Trees commercial project and shopping mall in Shanghai, which I visited about two weeks ago. Columns of trees built into the structures. Just wanted to make sure your audience knows this isn’t in Nanjing.
@@middlekingdomproductions I thought the building was beautiful and unique. Inside, the mall appeared rather quiet, and my wife and I had lunch on the second floor at a Cantonese restaurant. The first two floors had good store occupancy, but the higher floors seemed to have mostly empty storefronts. We asked a cleaning lady we saw on the top floor who has been there since the mall opened three years ago about the mall. She said many stores failed due to Covid and the lockdowns, and apparently the mall owner might have had a financial failure, though I’m not sure about that. The biggest problem for the mall’s future, as I see it, is that no metro lines are proximate to the building. We had to walk 10 minutes from the metro station at Shanghai Railway station, and the project isn’t easy to walk to from there. Contrast that with IFC mall at Lujiazui, which is directly connected to Line 2 metro station. Makes a big difference. BTW, I’m not an expat and live in Colorado, but was able to return to China for my 11th visit since 2009. My wife is from Shanghai. Love my visits to China!
Thanks for sharing your experience. I agree it is beautiful and unique. Did you see it lit up at night? Yeah, the covid years have been difficult, especially for smaller businesses. I think there is another metro station that is a little bit closer in the other direction, but I also walked there from Shanghai railway station, through the art district. I think once the 2nd building is open, it has a hotel and I think perhaps office space and different uses than the first building, maybe it will attract more people into the area. There are many nice walks along the river there and the art district is very interesting too. Wow, Colorado look beautiful and snowy. That's great, do you have any favourite places you've visited in your many trips to China?
@@middlekingdomproductions Unfortunately we were there only for a couple hours in the afternoon and didn’t see it lit up at night. Colorado indeed is beautiful, and those of us living here often take it for granted. As for the highlights of my many trips to China, it’s difficult to choose a favorite. A month ago, we went to Zhangjiajie and visited the Avavtar mountains and took cable car to the top of Tianmen mountain on my 70th birthday. Certainly one of my favorite highlights and unforgettable. I’ve seen Guilin and Li River, and this matches up with that scenery. Also have been to many of the great cities including Nanjing. I’ve been to the Great Wall, went on Yangtze River cruise, saw Stone Forest, and so forth. A huge and incredibly fascinating country to see.
the architecture and landscape is amazing! nature and man complementing side by side, ying and yang, soft and hard! glass and steel, earth mountains and trees..... i seriously want to go to china somehow.... funnily enough im chinese too but cant see a way there....
It is amazing I love the nature and architecture and people are interesting too. I hope you have chance to visit, do you have family in China? One option is to study here, or work as a teacher if you have a degree and the right qualifications.
happy new year.i used to live in nanjing for four years and pretty much of goodness are imprinted on my memory.Thx for your peaceful video brings me the nostalgia for the good old days.
Yeah there is a lot about Chinese society and especially infrastructure that other countries could learn from. Hope you have chance to go back 👍 cheers mate
@@middlekingdomproductions Definitely going back. I'm trying to convince family members to join me, but some will NOT come due to the fear of China. Even when I showed them my adventures in China, they believed that China staged it all. Wow, millions of Chinese actors, walking around the Cities of China, pretending to be happy and free. That's the level of their indoctrination with the anti-China USA led media. But the younger family members are open. I convinced one to NOT got to France to finish off his Uni degree, but to go to China. He listened to me, and is now going to a University in Shanghai ... leaving in a few weeks.

Absolutely stunning video. I have studied in nanjing long, long, long time ago when I was still in elementary school. I had good memory about nanjing, But I didn't expect it to have developed so much, especially those interesting modern architectures. I also like the ancient culture / history associated with nanjing city, which makes it much more meaningful than just a scenery site. Being a person who grew up in Xi'an, I'm familiar with and like historical sites / traditional buildings/ famous sceneraies. But Xi'an was much less developed and less green than nanjing. So Nanjing was my favorite city in China when I was a child.
Thank you very much 🙏🏻🙂 Thanks for your interesting comment 👍 I agree, I like Nanjing because it’s very green and has a mixture of modern and historic sites. It also has many beautiful parks alongside the Yangtze River. I’d like to visit Xi’an in the future. Which city do you live in now ?
@@middlekingdomproductions Yes, Nanjing is very beautiful. I have relatives in Nanjing. I still remember the impressive drive around Xuanwu Lake when they picked me up from the train station when I was a child. Unfortunately, I didn't have the chance to explore many places back then. They are still living in Nanjing now, enjoying a peaceful and comfortable life. Xi'an is definitely worth a visit. Xi'an is also a famous historical capital with abundant historical relics both within the city and its vicinity (perhaps even more and older than Nanjing). Over 2000 years ago, this place was the center of Chinese civilization, serving as the capital during the Qin, Han, and Tang dynasties. The Qin Dynasty marked the completion of China's unification, the Han Dynasty was a period of military expansion, and the Tang Dynasty was known for its significant cultural influence and was considered the best time in Chinese history. You can find numerous introductions to various ancient relics in Xi'an, including the city wall, an exceptionally well-preserved ancient wall that you must pass through upon entering Xi'an. I have fond memories of attending lantern festivals on the city wall during my childhood. Additionally, for sites to visit outside of Xi'an city, there are also plenty. Terracotta Army near Xi'an is a world wonder comparable to the Great Wall. Apart from these, Famen Temple is one of the largest Buddhist shrines and is famous for one of its relics, supposed to be a finger bone from Buddha. Banpo Site is a prehistoric settlement dating back 7000 years; Lantian is a site with the remains of ancient apes from over a million years ago, being the second-oldest firmly dated H. erectus beyond Africa, and the oldest in East Asia. Xi'an also has beautiful scenery. Especially the nearby mountains, many of which are renowned. The most famous is Mount Hua, followed by Wutai Mountain, Zhongnan Mountain, and more. The mountain ranges in the area are quite high. Once you've seen the mountains there, others might seem like mere hills. If you look at traditional Chinese landscape paintings, you'll notice similarities with the scenery in this region. In addition, Xi'an is known for its delicious food, mostly various noodles / buns/ hamburgers. Due to its large Muslim population, beef/lamb dishes are also very famous. Over the years, Xi'an has seen considerable development. To attract tourists, Xi'an has built the Datang Furong Garden beneath the famous Giant Wild Goose Pagoda (initially built in AD 652). The night view is particularly stunning and has become a landmark for tourists to capture. In summary, to thoroughly explore Xi'an and its surrounding areas, I believe you would need at least half a month. For history enthusiasts, it might take even longer. While Xi'an shares some similarities with Nanjing, they have very distinct styles and landscapes. If you come for tourism, I believe you won't be disappointed. As for me, I am currently in Canada. Therefore, I often watch tourists' videos in China to stay informed about the country's current situation.
Thank you very much for sharing such interesting information about Xi'an. I hope I will have chance to visit the city in the future, I'm sure on day I will. I didn't know Xian had mountains nearby, in fact I don't know much about the city, but now I have a much better idea, thank you. Where in Canada do you live and what is life like there? When I think of Canada I think of the beautiful mountains and the quiet coastline in Nova Scotia, it's another country I'd love to visit one day. I remember flying from the Uk to New York and we flew down across south east Canada for a while and it looked very picturesque.
@@middlekingdomproductions Xi'an is located near the Qinling Mountains. The Qinling Mountains, stretching 1600 km with elevations ranging from 2000 to 3000 meters, are a well-known mountain range in China. The famous mountains near Xi'an are mainly from the Qinling range, with Mount Hua being the most famous one. China's most famous mountains are the Five Great Mountains and Mount Huang (the Yellow mountain). Mount Hua is one of the Five Great Mountains, renowned for its steepness. Search "hua shan plank walk" Additionally, if you go to see the Terracotta Army, you'll find yourself close to Mount Li. Li Mountain is where the mausoleum of Emperor Qin (first emperor in Qin dynasty) is located, and it is also home to Huaqing Pool, a famous Tang Dynasty imperial hot spring. Moreover, there are also the Zhongnan mountains which is famous for being the birthplace and an important centre of Daoism. I live in Ontario, Canada. Here, there are no prominent mountain ranges; instead, we are known for the lakes, and the famous Niagara Falls. If you want to see beautiful mountain scenery, the most famous in Canada is the Rocky Mountains in the west. Particularly, Banff National Park is highly worth a visit. Afterward, you can explore Vancouver and head south to Seattle in the United States. On the east coast, one of the most famous scenic areas is Prince Edward Island, which is worth a visit. Moreover, Canada is renowned for its maple trees. If the weather is right, visiting during the fall is exceptionally beautiful, especially when the maple leaves turn vibrant colors.

It looks like we hit a colder year in China this year , I’m from Northern Anhui province, we see -15c a lot . Watch what I say it might be a snowy Middle Kingdom this year.
Yeah it’s been colder for sure. Wow -15 is intense. The lowest it’s been so far this year in Nanjing is around -7 I think, maybe a bit colder than that. How much further north than Nanjing is your home town ?
@@middlekingdomproductions I don’t know if you’ve heard of Suzhou, Anhui ,it’s right next door to Henan ,Shandong Province . It gets a lot colder more further up you go from Nanjing. Like -14C, -15C a few times .

That is, A wonderful country with a government that may not be perfect at times, takes care of its people, embrace competition, seeks to improve on what is right, instead of going into useless wars or conflicts... @@Hduduchdb thanks for the advice. What length of video works best on Chinese TikTok ? I don’t really produce much vertical, faster paced and short content so will have to experiment with it 😃👍
@@middlekingdomproductions Because there are many short video software in China. If it's good, blbl TikTok, Kuaishou, Watermelon Video, Today's Headlines. They are all good short video websites. They cover different fans of different ages. TikTok is a software that most people like to use. Both middle-aged and elderly, blbl has more young people, and Kuaishou is also young people. There are also watermelon videos, Toutiao, etc. These fans come from middle-aged and elderly people.
Awesome thank you very much ! Can you post the same videos across different platforms ? I will join TikTok first and try it out. I post some RUclips shorts on my animal channels and they do quite well, so it will be fun to play around with a different type of video. Cheers 👍🙂
What’s the word happening right now in china about Taiwan. Do they speak about wanting to take over it, or do they speak about wanting to be United with them in a peaceful way? And what do they say about the United States? Here it’s shown china wants to take over but I don’t believe that. I believe china just wants to be left alone. I don’t know I could be wrong they could want world dominance to. I just ask as a curious person. I always wonder what life in china really is like.
I’m not sure, I don’t follow politics or the news much. As far as I know most people here see Taiwan as part of China. I don’t think anybody here wants a war or world dominance. It seems they would prefer a peaceful future. The world has many crazy people in powerful positions though, who knows what the future holds.
If you were to show a collection of clips, why not at least type in the names of places. We don’t know most of them even for Chinese. And China was alive not only after Covid but during the 2 years of zero Covid period. That was what zero Covid was for, no Covid. China had 130 million outbound tourists in 2019. The majority took trip within China in 2020 thru 2022. Xinjiang alone had a 100 million or so tourists a year.
Because not everything is about sharing information. In this video I shared clips from across my 100 videos this year and other clips I took. I hope to share the beautiful images in a peaceful way. I didn’t want to fill the screen with 100+ place names in quick succession 🙂 China came alive this year, the economy improved, restrictions were removed, concerts began again, people travelled, tourists arrived again. This is the meaning of things coming back to life here, more things happening and more activity.
China is a big country with long history, it certainly has many good points but in all you videos I feel that you are very one sided (out of balance), you seldom talk about its poor human right records for many decades which many people have complained about both inside/outside of China and poor relationship to many democratic countries in the west in the last few years!!??
Because I’m not a political channel 🙂✌️. I just share my experiences to try and give viewers a peaceful experience. I mostly don’t talk much at all in my videos. I play music and try to show beautiful things. I also disagree with much of what the media says. They lie about the British government all the time. Working people in the Uk have less and less rights day by day and things are terrible for many people. I have lots of experience of poor human rights and problems in the Uk so I’m happy to discuss that but in China I don’t even speak the language yet. The culture is extremely diverse across a massive area of land and it’s definitely not my aim or place as a foreigner to start to take guesses about politics here. Im sure there is much good and bad too, like everywhere, I don’t think people here are suffering any more than in the Uk or other countries. I hope everybody around the world will have a peaceful future full of love.
@@middlekingdomproductions Thanks for sharing; yes every country has various problems & injustice but in most Western Democratic Countries at least people can openly criticize those issues with few problems but in many Dictatorial Countries critics will be put in Jails, Tortured and many times Killed, for me that is a big difference!!!

A nice and relaxing video of all the sights and sounds and flavours of China and England over the course of a year 😊
I’ve just recently discovered your channel, Adam.
Happy New Year! Keep on keeping on! My brother from another mother.
Happy New year! Cheers man! Thank you 👍✌️
Meaningful Tittle and lifestyle, so are your videos Adam.
Thanks!
Wow! Thank you very much 🙏🏻 Happy New Year! Best wishes to you and your family 🌻🙂🎉
At 24:54 mark, you show 1000 Trees commercial project and shopping mall in Shanghai, which I visited about two weeks ago. Columns of trees built into the structures. Just wanted to make sure your audience knows this isn’t in Nanjing.
Thanks Ken, what did you think of the building ? Have a look at my videos list, I recently made a video showing the 1000 trees project
Experience China’s Futuristic Sky Garden Shanghai’s Amazing Building 1000 Trees
ruclips.net/video/87DcRJ4BE5U/видео.html
Wonderful video ! China is a fascinating country 👍
Thank you very much
What an amazing year!
Happy New Year, Adam!
Hope to see more of your videos in the new year, they are all very interesting and beautiful.
Happy New Year! Thank you very much 🙏🏻🙂 Hopefully I’ll continue to make many more videos this year.
the architecture and landscape is amazing! nature and man complementing side by side, ying and yang, soft and hard! glass and steel, earth mountains and trees..... i seriously want to go to china somehow.... funnily enough im chinese too but cant see a way there....
It is amazing I love the nature and architecture and people are interesting too. I hope you have chance to visit, do you have family in China? One option is to study here, or work as a teacher if you have a degree and the right qualifications.

Mate ... I want to go back to China. This brought back so many wonderful memories. This is how all societies should be like.

The thumbnail is my hometown, Guiyang😊
Search "hua shan plank walk"
Additionally, if you go to see the Terracotta Army, you'll find yourself close to Mount Li.

I love this country so much
I don't know why
But every time i see a video about China i smile 😊
I think the world should know more about China!
That is, A wonderful country with a government that may not be perfect at times, takes care of its people, embrace competition, seeks to improve on what is right, instead of going into useless wars or conflicts... If China will keep this altitude, only good things will come. I cannot say the same about my home country which has one of the most evilest governments in the world
Bless China and Chinese people ❤🇨🇳
I wish all of your efforts to be blessed until the end of the world 🙏

The video would be more attractive if the locations or the events are shown in the screen
Thanks for sharing, that is a good idea but my intention with this video wasn't to provide information but just to show some beautiful scenes from the past year. Follow your blbl, but I think you'd better set your blbl as a Chinese name, and then upload more to your dog, so that you can gain a lot of fans! By the way, do you have TikTok?
Thank you very much 🙏🏻👍 I don’t know much about growing a bilibili channel but I will try. Many other bilibili channels post my videos and get a lot of views, I try to report them to take down my content but there are so many channels posting it. Maybe it’s difficult for a small channel to grow. I don’t have TikTok I don’t make many short videos but I might try it out soon 🙂
@@middlekingdomproductions TikTok's fans are rising faster! If you have fans, the popularity of other platforms will also increase! Indeed, many channel owners will forward your videos. You need to show your face in blblbl to grow up, and it's better to speak more Chinese
Cheers 👍🙂

The only real thing that I want to know about china is: Just how long is the radiation going to last?
What radiation do you mean ?
You're supposed to hate on the place, buddy. Didn't you get the memo?
haha, mustn't have! The world is full of hate and division, I just hope to bring some peace and beautiful views wherever I film.
I didn’t want to fill the screen with 100+ place names in quick succession 🙂
China came alive this year, the economy improved, restrictions were removed, concerts began again, people travelled, tourists arrived again.
