Unexpected Chinese Bookstore in Nanjing

- In this Real Life in China video I visit a bookstore in Nanjing. This Chinese bookstore is a unique architectural building. There are many interesting books here which I'll link to below. This bookstore is in the Nanjing Jiangsu Expo Gardens (link below) and is built inside an old Silo used to store crushed ores. Which of these books did you expect to find in a Chinese bookstore?

I visited this theme park at night back in Jan this year, I had no idea there is a book store there
It’s a pretty big place I think it would be easy to miss the bookstore unless you knew about it already 😀
Incredible reuse of an old abandoned structure.
Unexpected surprise to find a Modern bookstore in a disused industrial site. The Chinese are well educated on western culture , just by looking at the book titles. I wonder if those in west have an understanding and knowledge of east. If only we took the time to see.

I know grass is always greener... but, damn. I have a of checking people's bookshelves when I visit their homes; it doesn't pass for judgment, but does give me a glimpse, even if it's just a bunch of oversize glossy coffee table books set to impress. I can say for nations with what they stocked in the bookstore.
I concur, bookshelves can definitely tell you a lot about their owners.
They sell both coffee books (for survival) n literature. Considering it is a Chinese bookstore, selling translated East Europe n S America poet books should be admired. Go to the shelves, not just display areas.
Haven't you seen there were a lot of translation lit works on the shelves? How did you come to the conclusion of coffee table books only?

I hadn't thought of that. It didn't seem to be very noisy inside though.
Nanjing is too hot.
it is very hot in summer but you get used to it and learn to stay indoors
