  • One of Cats competitors from the 1930s, likely responsible for dozing poor smallholders off of their dustbowl properties too.
An ingenious petrol/diesel engine, which can be a little temperamental. A great crawler with a monster of a cocky-kit hydraulic setup on it. This example also consumes oil and water almost at the same rate as diesel.
Please comment if you have your own red crawler from the same era or have any requests!

I had a small 1942 TD 4. My friend bent over and was trying to see if there was a compression leak. He had leaned over far enough to place the crotch of his jeans against the track, while his finger was close enough to the spark plug wire to jump to his finger, jumping the gap thru his jeans from his pecker to the steel track. To say he jumped back is quite an understatement.
I had no idea what happened. He was trying to tell me and I kept laughing.

Blew right out, it did. The old corn poppers were something else. I always like d the starting system. Worked for me. I liked the face on the front and the girlie watching.

Hello matey, Thanks for sharing your video, always nice too see these machines still running.I own three of the TD 35'S, one thing you might want to do is to spin the mag with your hand to engage it, this way you will not have to crank on it to get it to engage, makes it easier too start.

Nice old relic, but you would think that since 1936 someone would have drilled a hole through the dozer blade and lengthened the handle on the crank to make starting easier!

Ah just a bit of exercise for the old legs, and something a bit different from the normal crank! ALl well and good until it backfires though I suppose...

Now, a battery powered impact wrench might be the nicest way.

    Good morning,
I am in France, near Bordeaux. I have a TD35 that I would like to start. But I'm missing the manual pump on the carburetor. Can you help me find one please?
    Many thanks

Bit different to the MD where you would switch it from the operators platform.
