The best bluesmen in Italy are Zucchero "Sugar" Fornaciari and Pino Daniele (passed away some years ago unfortunately). There are a lot of successful songs to listen to, glad you are analysing all these Italian artists, unfortunately the language has always been a limit to be known properly worldwide. Keep on doing it! Greetings from Italy 🇮🇹😉

0:13. We still have a lot of work to do for the right pronunciation of "Zucchero"! (sugar) 😉 However the correct pronunciation is “Zukkero” (with the E obviously pronounced in the Italian and not English way).
Taking a look at Google translator (to listen to the pronunciation of words), in these cases it always helps. :)

For me Zucchero is the most emblematic Italian artist, next to obvious Pavarotti, do to its internacional recognition, his voice, and the music he played, plays... It's not really an Italian sound, but is always in Italian. I got to listen to him as a child, in the 90s, and loved it, his music, his sound

Zucchero is a good friend of Brian May and they played a few times together. The Italian bluesman sang with Queen in the concert dedicated to the memory of Freddie Mercury.
By the way, I would like to suggest some really beautiful Zucchero songs:
    - Menta e rosmarino
    - Il volo
    - Pane e sale (there is also an English version that was used for the soundtrack of an American film)
    - Madre dolcissima
    - Così celeste
    - Miserere (feat. Pavarotti)

  • @debbielewis6479
    @debbielewis6479 3 года назад +1

I'm SO glad that I back-tracked to the Zucchero and Eric Clapton song "Hey Man" because this one, as usual, has been another great journey.
Eric Clapton is not new to me. But, Zucchero certainly is. I love Zucchero's voice and was immediately drawn into the song by his vocals. Then, I swear, after the first few seconds when Eric Clapton started playing his guitar...it just made me cry. I adore his guitar playing abilities and his collaboration with Zucchero and his vocals...what can I say? Of course, this being a slow song, made this review all the more pleasurable, for me. Since I have now heard a LOT more of Zucchero's music, now, and I'm already a fan of EC's, I probably would have given it a much higher score, just because it DID make it to my "Favorites" playlist.
There were several comments that I followed out, in terms of other songs to listen to. In particular Roberto Egosum pointed me 1st in the direction of Zucchero's Christmas song "Cosi Celeste". It was just lovely. As it turns out, both Roberto and I liked the Zucchero and Pavarotti (with children's choir) rendition of this song the best. Then, Roberto sent me on a Zucchero quest to listen to "Diamante" and "Mente e Rosmarino". He gives a splendid description of the song's interpretations (since they are in Italian) for me in the comment section (please review them from the Comment Section, and I will not retype them here). They are both beautiful songs and I especially liked the "Diamante" song. I think Roberto may be my new Italian friend, now. At least, I hope so.
While I was checking out Roberto's recommendations, I stumbled onto Zucchero performing John Lennon's "Imagine" with Randy Crawford (another new artist, to me, and she has a nice, powerful voice!). It was another great find.
Several others in the comments mentioned Pino Daniele who was another great artist. I listened to so many of his songs. He's a good vocalist and an excellent guitar player. "Puozze passà' nu guaio" and "Yes I Know My Way" were both excellent songs. There was also a collaboration with fellow compagno di chitarra, or guitar compadre, Eric Clapton on his songs "Wonderful Tonight" and also "Cocaine" that are really worth listening to. Daniele has passed away. Eric Clapton dedicated a song to him at Pino Daniele's funeral services. The song is short, but very nice and is called "For Pino". EC plays the guitar and just sings the notes, as there are no words, to this song. It's very moving when you think about the song as a tribute to his good friend.
I know this has been long, but I would be seriously remiss if I didn't mention Paul Weller, here. This is especially for BP1, since I hear you are a big fan.😁 Well, I just love his voice, too. I think I listened to at least 10 of his songs and all, but one, went on a playlist. BP1, have you heard the song Paul Weller sings with Amy Winehouse "Don't Go to Strangers"? Okay...go check it out. 🤗 Consider it part of your musical education.
All-in-all, this has been one of my most rewarding experiences with Brit Pops React. New friends, new songs, new playlists - what's not to like? For anyone out there, who gets to this point, please listen to BP1 and BP2 on this wonderful channel, Brit Pops React. Good Evening to you.
How wonderful to hear that you are also finding others with a passion for music and they are helping you to discover even more artists that you enjoy.
We knew of Zucchero here in the UK, due to the duet with Paul Young.
Pino Daniele is new to me, but when I wen tot check for anything he had done with Eric Clapton, they were all the very well know songs that EC has done A LOT, so it may be a little tricky to do a reaction to those as they are so well know, unless there was a real difference in them.
Ohhh, BP1 loves Paul Weller, not sure why he is not more taken with him as he does appear on quite a lot of Oasis and Noel G's songs, maybe just a personal choice.
I have listened to some of the new songs from Paul Weller and I must confess they are a bit. "Grandad Mod", quite slow and not the younger angry man we once enjoyed.
Paul Weller and Amy, yes, that's a very nice song.
Thank you for enjoying our channel and getting the most from it, we could not have imagined we would touch people in such a way when we started out on this and the more we do it, the more genuine and relaxed we become with it.
If a few more would take your direction and just dive right in and just go with the flow and see where we go next, that would be wonderful.
If nothing else, we know that you and maybe a few others "Get us"..

Oh well, you and BP1 make it very easy to be enthusiastic about checking out all these new artists/songs. That's one of the many things that drew me to this channel. You guys talk about the influences that you hear in the music and that helps us, too. Plus, there is no way that you can read our minds to see who/what we want to check out. I would bet that others would not check out the same artists or even the same songs that I picked out and that's fine. It was fun and I learned a lot. There are some other leads (noted in my spiral notebook) that I want to pursue, i.e., Paul Young, Style Council, Sanremo (a location, perhaps?), etc. But, I have to move on. There's so many I have to catch up on! I will go back to my notes eventually.
I think you are right about Pino Daniele, as it relates to collaborations on EC's song. I figured you would be more interested in just enjoying his excellent abilities as a guitarist. I just noticed a couple of notes in the margins about Pino that say "great soulful guitarist" and on the song "Cocaine" with EC, I wrote "totally rockin' guitar playing", which were observations I made to myself. So, he definitely made an impression on me. I know you would enjoy his music on an afternoon, when you can spend time picking through his discography. It is so sad that he has passed away, too.
So yeah, I'm still having a blast. I need to move forward and get to the next videos. I may combine a couple, like Vannda and ONE OK ROCK, where I have missed 2 each of their videos in a short amount of time. I may combine the comments and just post 2 comments, instead of 4. We'll see how that goes.
The remark about BP1 and Paul Weller was just me picking at BP1. You shouldn't have to take all the jabs from me. 😁 I just went through Weller's songs starting from the top and working down, through the videos. Had to make myself stop and get a little bit of sleep. Paul Weller is now a favorite of mine. Every now and then, I need to chill out to his kind of music.
I was afraid you were going to be mad because I told that Chris Stapleton troll to leave your channel. He asked for my e-mail address and identified himself/herself as Chris Stapleton. I doubt very seriously that Chris Stapleton would ever reply to my comment. Besides, the person said it was their channel, too. Give me a break! But, I was nice, so I'm pretty sure you're not going to kick me out of the club. If you do kick me out, I will just go find a club in Ibiza. 😂
It's very late in the UK, so I will close for now. Get some rest so you will be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed tomorrow (Thursday). ~DL 🙂

In Italy, the most important blues artists are Zucchero (soul/blues) and Pino Daniele (blues).

Hello guys thanks for reacting to our Italian 90s bluesman 😊
Zucchero means Sugar in Italian and it's pronounced with accent on the u and ch as a k i.e. Zùkkero... he's the Italian artist with more collaboration with foreign artists really a great collection since back in the 80s he's also a generous artists also giving space to those on stage with him so they could shine their talent. Since you did this reaction many months ago in case you feel like doing another please allow me "Madre Dolcissima" performed during his concert at The Royal Albert Hall feat. Bryan May and stunning vocals. ruclips.net/video/0ivbz47kTk0/видео.html

Hello and that is a fair comment and here is my fair reply.
      a) We only usually know what we are going to react to 5 minutes before we record it and have a small time to get the information.
      b) If we got everything right you might not have left a comment.
      c) If you want to talk pronunciations, I do believe "Måneskin" is pronounced tally incorrectly by the majority of Italians
      Ciao for now!

Hello and thank you for your comment.
I will check out Pino Daniele, to get a better understanding.
I cannot recall if we said the greatest Italian Blues Musician, I do recall that from wiki the following:
"He is credited as the "father of Italian blues", introducing blues to the big stage in Italy.[1] He is one of the few European blues artists who still enjoys great international success."
      Thanks for watching
