  • Prime AC Milan around 2003-2007 is one of the greatest teams there's ever been. With players like Kaka, Pirlo, Maldini and many others it was a great team to watch. They produced the best Champions League final ever, despite losing it in 2005.
With coach Carlo Ancelotti AC Milan reached 2 Champions League finals in 3 years and won the league in 2003/2004.
Do you agree that prime AC Milan is one of the greatest teams of all time?

Capellos Milan went to three consecutive CL finals (1993 - 1995) at a time when only the league winners qualified for CL. His team also dominated Serie A back then, often clinching the title a few matchdays before the end of the season. And immediately after that Lippis Juve did the same from 1996 - 1998. Interestingly both Milan and Juve just won one of their three finals.

Interestingly the era of Capello's Invincibli often seems to be overlooked. Maybe because their style of play was less entertaining and spectacular than Sacchi's and Ancelotti's teams. But Capello's Milan in my opinion was the most scary one. They dominated their opponents and controlled the games almost perfectly, conceded very few goals and often clinched the Scudetto a few matchdays before end of the season. They played three consecutive CL finals at a time when only the national league winners qualified for the CL and they ended the era of Cruyff's dream team with their devastating victory against Barcelona in 1994. Back then there were European top teams and there was Milan, sitting above them. An absolute monster of a team.

Juve were clearly more successful than them before the calciopoli thing.
That Milan team was so great individually but they weren't so superior as a team actually if you look at their results.
Only one Serie A in those years as said and that's the biggest failure.
They were great in the Champions League though. 2 titles in 2003 and 2007, they lost the one in 2005 by a miracle and were quite close in 2006 and only knocked out narrowly by a great Barca team.

@@MaSp345 Yeah, they rate it as some mega allstar team that dominated everyone but that was so far from the truth.
As I said, the names individually are super impressive, but they couldn't overpower Juventus in Serie A, while also in Europe theye weren't that convincing as many think even though they won 2 CL titles.
But if you go back all the games in 2003 were so narrow. They barely beat Ajax with a lot of luck, got through Inter on away goal and beat Juve on penalties in the final when they didn't have their best player (Nedved).
In 2007 they were already on a decline and the squad was old, it was a big surprise they even reached the final. Kaka literally carried them to the title with the season of his life.
You have so many better, more dominant and more successful teams throughout the 21 century but they don't get talked about as nearly as that Milan team.
Pep's Barca, Heiynkess Bayern, United 2007-2009, even Mou'ss Real was better but they couldn't win the CL, Enrique's Barca, 2003 or so Juve etc... Allegri's Juve was just as goof at least if not better. All those teams and some others were better actually.
I have nothing against them but it has the be the most overrated old/classic/vintage team on the internet nowadays.

      @@siberianTiger639 that's the Carlo thing.
He never really conquered a league in long period but he's a MASTER of knock out tournament. Maybe they would give Juve, Inter more challenge in 2000s if they have someone like Sacchi or Cappello.

@@siberianTiger639 You're joking, right? Just because a team didn't win everything in sight doesn't make them overrated. Overrated would be the threepeat Madrid team from 2016 to 2018 who only won those cups because of refereeing decisions. Milan had to compete in a very competitive Serie A and then got hamstrung by Calciopoli, so they only had 3-4 seasons under Ancelotti where they could genuinely challenge for the title, and they won one, and came very close twice. Similar to Liverpool a few years ago who finished one point behind Man City like twice, no one says they were overrated because people know how good they were.
If you think all those teams that you listed were better than this AC Milan side, you don't know jack about football. Allegri's Juve? Hahaha. United in 07 literally got destroyed by this Milan side who were already past their best, so what are you talking about? Absolute rubbish.

Ga kyk jaman sekarang, kalo lo prime ya udah juara ucl itu udah dipastikan. Saingan cuman 2 tim. Madrid n City aja.
Jaman dulu ga segampang itu kid. Walau Prime, tapi kondisi tim lainnya hampir merata. Juventus, Inter, Barcelona, Madrid, MU, Liverpool, Arsenal, Munchen.
Dalam 5 tahun bisa dapet 3 final ucl n 8 trofi domestik+internasional aja udah wah banget.
