SOCIAL CLUB oh piss off. thousands of guitar players can play what he plays. Just like thousands can play eruption. Just like thousands can play most anything. Of any difficulty. And what he is playing is not THAT difficult. I never said it was easy. And no, I don’t like this style music much so I don’t care to learn it anyhow.
I just recently found Billy's music. I've never been much of a fan for country, but I am a fan great musicians and Billy is amazing. His voice is beautiful and his mastery of the guitar is brilliant.
It will always exist thank God. I am 40 and I love blues and old country because of my buddy Bob who is 70. I wish all the time we were pals the same age so we could know each other longer.
Every once in awhile the real deal comes around. Not often maybe once a decade if that honestly. This dude is the real deal and what a gift to get to watch the development of the whole career in front of your eyes. Fabulous
I got to see Billy live in Dallas last week, I’m not even a big bluegrass listener but let me tell you it was the best show I’ve ever been to in my life. He tore the place down. It was amazing to see in person if you ever get the chance to catch a show you need to go. A frickin blast
My granpappy had one as well. he had to stash it in his ass when he was captured by Gerry in dubya dubya 2. three long years he kept that thing in his ass, until he eventually died of dysentery. one of his fiends keystered it for the next 6 months until the war ended, then he gave it to me.
People always argue Martin...Gibson....Taylor... There is nothing on this earth that will make me change my mind. Martin makes by far the greatest acoustic instruments on earth. It rooms YEARS of saving extra change. But I finally own one too.
Billy primarily seems to play a Preston Thompson though. You could have gotten one for $8500, but they only made 33. His lucky number. pktguitars.com/acoustic-guitars/portfolios/billy-strings-signature-model-limited-edition/
I have 230 people view one of my songs. Witch I’m blessed to create something people have enjoyed musically. This guy has a million hits on this one. What a talent! Bravo
I am never disappointed by any of his covers. I think his cover of Doc Watson"s Cocaine Blues is the best I've ever heard. And his original material is some of the best to come around in a while. Can't wait to see him live. Be safe out there people!
How could I possibly love his singing even more than I love his playing. It’s true, I do. Do people even hear his singing? It’s from another time and place.
@UC5Y-5lx600W1uHxujo83YMQ I did not make a personal attack on this man. Tired implies the genre is wore out and lacks anything fresh. Not a positive statement and my statement about “in your blood” simply means that many of us grew up with parents and grandparents who loved this music. It is in no way tired to us and a part of who we are. Calm your ass down with the name calling.
This guy is proof of reincarnation, as there is no way anybody could become such a master of a musical instrument in a single lifetime. With the possible exception of Tommy Emmanual and a very few others, this man is unique
It's not just the articulate playing - listen to the perfect pitch of the voice and how he phrases nearly every syllable for effect. And the best part is NO BANJO!
He plays a mean claw hammer banjo as well, but I know what you mean. I'd go to see him just do the Carter Vintage stuff. That said, Billy Failing is a GREAT banjo player who plays with him.
We are Witnessing one of the greats of our generation..
Its really not that difficult what he is doing....
@@dhoops616 But it's also Not Easy in the least. But let's say your Right. You still gotta have 'that feel' .. That's why he's Rare.

The talent of this guy is absolutely out of this world.
According to a lot of people here it's easy and he's nothing special lol. Proving most people have zero idea what they are talking about
@@anthonybick9264Yep just sold out the Bridgestone center 2 nights on a row.Wonder what they were all doing that weekend
talent and dedication!
This guy's soul is a lot older than that guitar. Amazing.
Playing like that, I'm not sure he hasn't sold it to the devil.
Amen to that. You hit the nail on the head.
Well said

He's a keeper of the library of old bluegrass and country.
This is how I like listening to Billy Strings the best. Alone and acoustic
Another example of how the future of real music artistry is in great hands!
That's if society as a whole doesn't collapse.....

One definition would be the above video.

Keeping bluegrass folk country and blues current. Billy Strings is freaking awesome!
Whew. That man can play and that voice is just golden.
That must be what it’s like to be “one with the instrument!” Beautiful to watch and hear!

My grandfather left me his 1956 D-21. I love that guitar for a multitude of reasons. Still by far the best sounding acoustic I've heard.
