    In my experience, the odors you described usually come from the seats, carpet in front of the seats, & the carpet under the seats. If you don’t pull the seats you won’t get it (if that’s where it’s coming from).

    I have used odorcide because you can mix it with your cleaning chemical. Then I'll use an ozone machine. I have heard great things about the clo2 but you do need to be careful because it can make you pass out. I'll also use ozium if it smells a little but customer doesn't want the whole ozone treatment.

    Hey There - honda guy here. There are some mid-2010's (that I know of) HVAC issues with Honda's air conditioning. Basically the AC condenser drain gets clogged & doesn't work well initially. So over time it gets moldy/musty in there from the water buildup.
    I've run toyota's AC condenser cleaner and nextzetts condenser cleaner. 3 cans over a year. Seemed to get rid of the smell most of the way. Definitely not effcient but accessing the condesner itself is not easy on my vehicle (15 civic si). Dr. Beasley's "Neutra-scent" was the winning product for me.
    I sprayed over all fabrics lightly, let mist settle, turn car on - A/C full blast & recirculate, close all doors, locate in-cabin air-return, spray into that air return through a crack in the door (basically spray a ton in passenger footwell), the mist gets pulled into HVAC system. Let car run like this for 15 mins. Switch to heat recirculate/fresh air, etc.) Hit with Dr. Beasley's air freshener (contains new car smell & more odor neutralizers), recirculate again for a few minutes and DONE (all with trigger sprayed chems).
    I have gotten alot of compliments on the 3 cars I have performed this treatment to. I'm a hobbyist detailer tho.

      @@attention2detailswchelsea no prob. I should add that one way to confirm this is the issue is if the smell comes and goes with turning the ac on and off. Most noticable at both of those moments.

    • @attention2detailswchelsea
      @attention2detailswchelsea  Год назад +1

      You need an air filter in to at least run the ac properly so if it’s bad replace before treating but if it’s newish I run it with the old one in and replace immediately after

    New subscriber. I’m curious as a pool owner with chlorine tabs. Would this be the same thing as taking a chlorine tab, break of a few small pieces and place them in water and then place them in the vehicle? Thanks.

    • @FifthVoice
      @FifthVoice 8 месяцев назад

      Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) is a different chemical than chlorine bleach, so it doesn't sound like that would be the same... But check your chlorine tablets - chlorine dioxide can be used for hot tubs as well (less irritating for sensitive skin) so if that's what your package says, then maybe you could go ahead and used them.

    I'm a truck driver that slip seats with a stinker. I've tried febreze, ozium, dryer sheets, charcoal bags, Clorox wipes. due to time constraints i can't really soak down seats etc. any suggestions?

    • @attention2detailswchelsea
      @attention2detailswchelsea  6 месяцев назад

      To clean the seats without extraction try a dry foam solution like Stoner Car Care upholstery cleaner or Turtle wax power out upholstery cleaner with odor-x or their Spot Clean & Odor Remover (the last one is probably my favorite smelling one amzn.to/3S7WLGT), scrub with a brush then mop up with a microfiber or Terry towel then put a towel down to blot it up more. But honestly the best way to clean if it’s dirty from soiling and is heavily soiled is extraction and then put a dryer on it to quickly dry it. I can dry a seat in 30 mins after extraction with a blower and using an enzyme solution like Omegazyme can go after odor causing bacteria and stains better. Finding the right detailer who has the tools to do it quickly can help if it’s too soiled for an over the counter cleaner to handle. You can also try bonnet cleaning with one of those cleaners (use a polisher with a microfiber pad on it) if you can’t extract but it’s heavily stained. Then use something like this or a biobombs odor x (I recently reviewed them) to remove the
      Odors more long term after cleaning

    Hi Chelsia, just wondering how this turned out and if you think the results are as good or better than the ozone generator. I have heard that the ozone generator can potentially damage interior plastics, etc. if not used properly, thanks!

      I’ve leaned more towards chlorine dioxide tablets the last few years because I do find them to be a little bit more effective plus, it’s safer to drive with the chlorine smell versus ozone

    Chelsea, I tried this treatment on my Honda CRV and now it retained this strong chlorine smell. I tried airing it out windows open highway driving for about 1 hour and the smell is still there. I think it smells bad in a new way and it feels almost toxic. Maybe I used too many pellets but now I need a solution for the overpowering chlorinated smell. Any ideas? Have you had this happen? I am worried the exposure will be bad for me and my family at this point.

    • @attention2detailswchelsea
      @attention2detailswchelsea  11 месяцев назад +1

      How many pallets did you use? And normal rule of them as however, long you do a treatment let it air out that long. It should dissipate fully over the next week but you might smell a slight chlorine smell, but it is not toxic for you to smell once it’s aired out. I normally don’t release it to be driven until the levels are tolerable (smells like you’re at a indoor pool)

    • @GalvanizedSquareRoseLalonde
      @GalvanizedSquareRoseLalonde 11 месяцев назад

      Thanks Chelsea. I throughly cleaned the interior. I think I might have added too much but it was a short treatment about 2 hours. I am airing it out in the Sun today. I think I might have incompletely deodorized the chemical smell. The smell I was trying to eliminate was the residue of an unpleasant scent tree smell that never left. The kind of smell that makes some people car sick to smell it. I am getting a new cabin filter and will try to use one of those ac vent cleaners to complete the treatment. I will keep you posted on the deodorizing adventure.

      any luck removing the residual pool smell? We have a tip that will help.... try spraying distilled water in a spray bottle inside the cabin of vehicle. The remaining gas molecules will attach themselves to the water and should clear you right up! @@GalvanizedSquareRoseLalonde

    • @FifthVoice
      @FifthVoice 8 месяцев назад

      @@GalvanizedSquareRoseLalonde Hey Mikey, the chlorine dioxide "pool smell" can hang around in some fabrics longer than others (such as in memory foam), but as Chelsea already mentioned, the remaining smell is not toxic and will air out naturally with some time. Exposure to UV light also breaks down ClO2, which it sound like you've already done. Hope you're Honda is smelling all fresh and clean by now :)

    New sub here. I have a question really needs some kind of help. I have a funky smell in my attic due to Rat or mice visit and they did what they did and all the smell came out from the reciptor of the A/C and what ever I did not working to mask the smell. I tried to buy a urine enzymes but make another bad smell came like Musty smell as well. Now I have Chlorine dioxide flakes. No sure how to use it in the attic! Do you have any advice for me? If I buy the tablets is it safe to put it in a large buckets 🪣 and add 2 tablets ? Does it harm if I closed the attic door after I put the tablets with water or I have to open the windows for th bathroom to get ride of the gas it may occur?
    Thank you for your reply

    • @attention2detailswchelsea

      Ideally it should be done in a space you won’t occupy as the fumes can be toxic. Personally I’d contact a professional who can assist with safe chemicals as even in an attic the odor can go into your home and I’d feel safer contacting a pro for that issue with chemicals like that OR try it when no one will be home and you air things out after
