I loved this game as a kid. I was watching the TAS runs of the sequels and it seems like this one was the only one to get the difficulty right. I know difficulty doesnt necessarily mean a game is good but you were rewarded for playing well.

Question to anybody out there with a 60fps monitor: do the bosses turn invisible after they're hit for you? The video is at 60fps, which means we should see them flash appropriately, but my screen is only 30fps, so it still looks like they go invisible to me.

Yes, at 60 FPS, the bosses flicker, rather than turn invisible.

Why he took a damage in the first boss (mid boss)?

So that I could jump on the enemy he threw out without taking damage to the boss. That means I could quicker start picking them up and throw at the boss.
