@@dsimnsLITERALLY what I just commented! I found it curious that the film maker’s responded that he cannot discuss the content of the film. Curious and convenient 🤨

Not sure I'd like to see images of Prince post mortem. I've always avoided the footage of where he passed. I'll keep my memories of him as I saw him from the performances I was lucky enough to see. 🕊👁
I’d love to see it. Art is about taking criticism and deciding how to best use it. Prince knew that. He didn’t make Purple style albums every time he made a new one. He got heavily criticized for not making Purple Rain albums but he didn’t care.
Purple Rain, first VHS my parents ever bought. Keep next to my great grandfathers gold watch. Saw him in 2012 last show night 3 Chicago. I’ll never forget the second encore when people were starting to leave, (date included) me just sitting there waiting, United Center house lights on, he comes back and says “Do you know how many Hits I have?”
Prince was 57 when he passed. If he wanted to do a documentary about his life (or even an in-depth interview to share things he'd previously kept private) he would have done it long before then. His "mysterious" nature was NOT a marketing tool. The man was a musical genius and simply wanted to share his gifts with the world. Much of the other stuff that came with "fame" never seemed to suit him, so I'm of the opinion that if HE didn't sign off on it, it shouldn't be public. And unfortunately, in my opinion, the same goes for the music in the vault. There's a reason HE chose to release what he did, and why everything else just got stored away. If he wanted it released after his death, he would have had a will that said so. And don't get me wrong, my ears would be WIDE OPEN if he wanted those tracks released (especially from the early days), but I respect his decision to keep those tracks to himself. Other people should too. EDIT: For the record, I'm a GIANT Prince fan. I saw him in concert 18 times between the ages of 16 (at the Universal Amphitheater in L.A. for the "1999" tour; first contact high lol) and 44 (at the Forum when he was playing all the oldies again), so I would be supremely interested in hearing his complete story - but only if he told it himself - on his own terms. I met him once - after one of the "Purple Rain" shows at the Long Beach Arena when I was 18; my friend and I managed to get onstage for "Baby I'm a Star," and then Jerome invited us backstage - totally surreal. Prince was a friggin' rock star, so we didn't expect much conversation - and we didn't really have one with him lol. Maybe growing up in L.A. (in and around the industry; meeting "legends" just sort of happened from time to time) gave me a respect for a "famous" person's desire to live a "normal" life as best they could. We should just let his purple badness rest in peace. He wanted us to have the music he released and his performances... and he gave us that right until the end. I can't imagine that any of us would be comfortable with our private lives being made public after we've died if we had a choice.

Somehow I've avoided seeing 'his last' day pictures. I never want to see it. Anyhoo, 9 hours? So it would be a series? Bring it on. I wanna see that Prince magic 💜
As much as I want to see this, I can see no reason to show coroner photos. If that family member’s tweet was legit, I can totally understand why they’d block it. Most of those 9 hours will be reduced to shorts of agendas online. Good on the estate for blocking that film. Coroner pics to the beat of Let’s Go Crazy is nasty work.
Wrangles over the estate after death is not unusual with all these performers. It's a sad part of the post-life story...and it's always the fans that lose out at the end of the day.
My husband worked 11 years with Prince and he told me that none of the inner circle accepted to be in the documentary, including him, so how can you do a documentary without them, who lived every day next to Prince?
I don’t mind seeing a documentary like on a mini series about him and his music. Really about stuff that we already know just put together in one. But PLEASE PLEASE leave out all the death photos!
I would like to see it. I find him fascinating and interesting. However, I think they should cut out the coroner photos, I don’t want to see his dead body.
Explicit coroner photos? I’m inclined to trust the Oscar winning director. It could bring me closer to Prince as he was cremated, and of course, I did not attend a non-existent funeral. I’m still sad, so this could be a catharsis for me as a fan and audience member. The estate owner might not understand this.
GOOD. Block it forever. Let curious minds go out and BUY his albums if they are so interested in learning about him. He gave us everything thru his music. Go here on RUclips and watch his interviews and awards speeches. Watch his films. Read his (auto)biography. His true fans already know these stories. Stop trying to make him the next Tiger King Netflix sensation to be dissected and discarded when the next hot topic comes along. #NPG4LIFE
As a life-long Prince fan, I find myself embarrassed by what freaks some of the hardcore fans are. NPG4LIFE? What? I mean, I know what it means, but why sign off with it? Are you twelve? I'd bet good money that you're an MJ freak as well.
I hope it never sees the light of day, the bank who was in charge of the estate after he passed should not have made this deal with Netflix. McMillan has said it's a hit piece and isn't an accurate portrayal of Prince. I don't like any of the biopics that Netflix makes, they always try to sensationalize the darkest elements of their subject. Prince wasn't perfect, but he was a magnificent artist. Celebrate Prince, don't make a trash documentary. Is it just me or is there a trend to tear down black celebrities even if the director is of the same tribe?
Why does a company own his estate? Estates should never be own by companies. It should stay in the family and a family shouldn't be able to sell it to a corporation or it goes straight to the pubic domain.
Shame on his estate, I’m sure totally corrupt now! True tragedy but The MAN will live forever w us all as a true legend talent, sound and look like none other
For some reason I don't even believe that there are coroner photos in this documentary. It almost sounds like they're just trying to get the public against the documentary. I'm pretty sure Netflix wouldn't be in a costly legal battle over some coroner photos. They'll just take them out.
You are correct. People that seen it have stated there are just crime scene photos from Paisley. Like the green windowless room he was living in, that the Estate still refuses to acknowledge. No actual photos of his corpse.
Nothing you tell us about Prince, for better or worse, will ever diminish the joy his music has given to the world.
Well stated!

Without question I will watch it if it is available to me. No brainer.
Release it already!
Prince should've had a will laying out the terms of his estate.
I would like to see it. I find him fascinating and interesting. However, I think they should cut out the coroner photos, I don’t want to see his dead body.
Release it!
Prince was too talented and versatile to make a satisfying documentary. Less than 30% of his songs have been released

I have seen pics of Prince dead. The filmmaker should be ashamed that he includes them.
Prince was veryyy private and mysterious. If it never gets released, it’s fine with me. Just out of respect
Im good. Put it in the vault
He and Dylan seem like 2 sides of the same coin.
Why does a company own his estate? Estates should never be own by companies. It should stay in the family and a family shouldn't be able to sell it to a corporation or it goes straight to the pubic domain.
For those hungry for more with proven quality, I recommend Duane Tudahl's books 💜
Shame on his estate, I’m sure totally corrupt now! True tragedy but The MAN will live forever w us all as a true legend talent, sound and look like none other
If it is ,9 hours, that explains why I won't watch it.
Episodes helllllooooooo
For some reason I don't even believe that there are coroner photos in this documentary. It almost sounds like they're just trying to get the public against the documentary. I'm pretty sure Netflix wouldn't be in a costly legal battle over some coroner photos. They'll just take them out.
You are correct. People that seen it have stated there are just crime scene photos from Paisley. Like the green windowless room he was living in, that the Estate still refuses to acknowledge. No actual photos of his corpse.
What are you telling me about it for then? Haha
Thanks for that.
Ok, now corner photos are too much, but RELEASE THE DOC!
A series 3 hours or two hours per episode after the legal stuff
That’s a documentary miniseries
Let us see it
