In this video, we’re unpacking why so many of us feel less confident without makeup. From first impressions and societal pressure to personal insecurities, I’m diving into the real reasons behind that bare-faced vulnerability. I’ll share my own story-why makeup feels like part of my daily routine, not just a beauty tool, and how it helps me feel more like myself. Plus, we’ll explore the history of makeup (did you know Cleopatra rocked eyeliner for more than just the looks?) and why it’s okay to love makeup without letting it define you. 💄 Let’s chat! Drop a comment and share how you feel without makeup. Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and join the conversation-you’re beautiful, makeup or no makeup!
I totally agree with you! I am 68 years old and would not think of going out of my house without makeup or not having my hair done! I have been doing this for 40 plus years and I don’t think it will ever change no matter how old I get!!
I have to admit, I have only worn make-up for special occasions, dates, weddings, funerals, birthdays, etc... never bothered for work, never had the time with working full-time, clean house, kids and stepkids to look after, cart kids to sports, dance, music, etc. However, when I turned 60, I was so sick, I had to retire early and I've spent the last couple of years 'finding myself'... and I have to say Nisha, you have been one of the beacons of light that have helped me find myself and re-evaluate my life and find new interests, new paths.. and I did a big declutter of clothes and freshened up my wardrobe, got interested in make-up and my make-up collection has tripled or more in size, with some highend brands, that I never would have spent that money on myself before!! And I never had the time to 'waste' on myself!! So now, I am happy to spend time on myself, I see myself as value, use all the fancy skincare products, and although I had 'good skin', I can see a definate improvement in fine lines and wrinkles... I feel i deserve some nice new clothes and i really enjoy dressing up just to go to the shops 😊
I love this discussion! I always ALWAYS feel better if I have my makeup on and my hair done. And I notice if I’m out in my sweats with no makeup and hair up in a bun, people treat me differently than if I have put my makeup on and done my hair. It’s truly an impression you give off to people. And it’s just true that every woman looks better with a little effort to look nice ❤️ and have a friendly personality!
I love my makeup. I started wearing it in my mid teens. I stopped from about 2013 to 2023 because I was dealing with several illnesses including hair loss. I just gave up. I felt so defeated. it was about August of 2013 I took the plunge and got myself a wig. It sparked the life back into me and I started wearing a bit of makeup again too. Now I'm back to full glam lol, makeup, lashes, pretty wigs of all styles and colors. It makes me feel better and look better even on my worst days.
So sorry to hear of your health struggles. I'm glad you've found a way to feel better. I can relate somewhat to your story. I think I started wearing make-up in my later teens, but I've had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for the past 7 years, (since being 52 years old), & have been house-bound for the past 3 years, and on my worst days I don't have the energy to put make-up on. If I'm having a visitor, on a better day, I do wear make-up. Prior to CFS I wore mascara and lipstick every single day to match my olive complexion. I have never watched so much RUclips in all my life as since I've had CFS. Nisha's Channel is lovely and brings me a lot of joy, and I've learnt a lot of make-up tips from her, so when I have visitors I do a whole face of make-up now. Take care. Blessings Jo (NZ) 💛 PS. I definitely don't want to be seen without make-up on.
@@jog5289 Thank you. I feel for you and everyone who deals with CFS, fibromyalgia ... I don't mind so much being seen without makeup but, I definitely don't go out without a wig or something covering my head these days.
I agree with you! I feel better about myself if I look good. I wouldn’t go even to Walmart without makeup! If someone happens by, I want to look my best.
I’m 75 Nisha and I wouldn’t dream over going outside the door without makeup and yes I think the same as you that you want to look good for your husband too even after being married for 52yrs . You have taught me so much about makeup so thankyou !❤️
I'm 73, and been wearing makeup since I was 14. I even wear makeup to do yard work. I feel totally naked without it, and like to look my best, that will never change. I think it says a lot about a person if they care about their appearance.
Hi Nisha l absolutely agree with everything you said. I love wearing make-up it makes me feel really good. I have worn it since l was 14yrs old, not for any other reason but l love it. My youngest Granddaughter is 15yrs and wearing make-up. She loves it and looks gorgeous with or without. I know my self worth, and l don't have to impress anyone, l love putting it on its something l can do for myself. We are lucky we have choice to do want we want. Love that flower arrangement in the corner, l know you had it on your table. Thanks Nisha great chat❤❤
My mother always said if the barn needed painting, you should paint it. I always have lipstick on and some blush and some perfume and basically I just try to look as best I can. I feel better when I look as best I can.
I don’t feel insecure without makeup but I want to look polished & look like I made an effort in how I present myself. I work with women who look like they rolled out of bed & came to work. I am definitely a makeup girly, lay out my cloths for the day & style my hair. I will do it to the day I die.
I can't believe that someone would come to work looking like they rolled out of bed, it looks like they don't have any respect for themselves or the job they are doing, I just don't get it xx
Heck yeah, I wont leave my house without mascara and eyeliner, even when im in my garden. I grew up in a church where no makeup was allowed, and alot of strict rules. Im still a christian, and I dont feel guilty, I feel better.😊
Very good topic! I do and I do not wear makeup. I live in the country and grow a big garden. In the summertime it is extremely hot and humid and when going out to do my garden makeup would just be useless and a sweaty mess. I am okay if a neighbor happened to pull in the drive and of course, I am okay being around my husband without it. When I go to town or grocery shopping I try to present my best. Yesterday, my husband and I were coming home and out of the blue he said, you are a very attractive woman for 68 years old. I cannot tell you how good that made me feel as he is a man that doesn’t give compliments lightly and seldom. I will be extremely honest here it took me years to be comfortable with myself and to know my value. My married life started with my first husband leaving me with a 2 year old and pregnant for another woman. I lost all of my self confidence. I apologize this is lengthy, but I do find it an interesting topic and love hearing your take on it and reading the comments.
Thank you for sharing your story, I think that the older we get the more comfortable we become with ourselves because by now we know who we are and what we like xx
Taking care of yourself is important I think, I’m a little older than you and struggle with foundation even with a primer it makes my lines look deeper so I switched to tinted moisturiser and spot treating areas with a good concealer I use the Lancôme one, always blush, always eyebrows on and a lippy, always get my hair done on a regular basis, I also use ziip halo, so why do I do this? It’s for me, it gives me confidence and I enjoy it😁 Louie’s snoring is comforting, love to the little fella❤
Nisha, we share so much of the thoughts and values! I too even if I had the flu. Or sick always take a shower and put on make up and do my hair. My mom who suffered from cancer back in 86 and passed away, made up always did her hair and she always said when you’re sick, you still get up put your make up on and do your hair and you will always feel better. I have always followed that advice. My mother was a model and one of my aunts were so was I! That being said did not have to follow in their footsteps, but because I love a little bit of that glamour, getting dressed every morning putting my make up on is, my natural routine. The only time I don’t wear make up well I do put mascara and eyeliner is when we are on a cruise or go to the beach lol. I too don’t make up for anybody else, but myself and I dress for myself. However, it is nice for my husband of 43 years to always hand me a compliment and I agree with you totally just age gracefully Anyway enjoyed this video and your chat. You are very creative. Looking forward to your next one.
I don’t leave my house without looking my best. First I love using make up! It’s so fun! It’s soothing and my quiet time. I was told very early on that if you look good you feel good!🎉❤
I would love to be that girl who looks great with her hair pulled back and no makeup but that's not me. I don't like seeing myself with no makeup so I'm pretty sure nobody else would. 😂😂😂 I don't feel ready for my day until the teeth are brushed, the face is washed, the skincare applied, my makeup done, and my hair fixed. It is such a part of my daily ritual I can't imagine not doing it. My dad was always very particular about his grooming even though he was a farmer. I asked him once if I would ever stop caring about my appearance and he said no, never. Loved this video.
Nisha, I totally agree with everything you've said. These are all the same reasons I wear makeup. I always have. And yes, women need to stop judging those of us who enjoy it!
I don’t wear makeup if I’m staying in, but if I go out, even to the grocery store, I need a small amount on. I live in a city where I would never run into anyone I know, so I just feel better about myself mainly. I’ve always been a self conscious woman, not in a vain way. I’m also very pale, and do feel like I need a little color. I live in Las Vegas, but I stay out of the sun. I look like a tourist from the Midwest, because I am from the Midwest. 🙄 I think just do what makes you happy. Life is too short not to ! 🥰🥰
I feel better with make-up, and it is a routine, like brushing your teeth and hair. I think everyone should use make-up to enhance and not hide. I try not to judge someone who has on long false lashes and too much foundation. I usually think whatever makes them feel better, but I do initially think, less is better. I don't put on make-up to mask myself, but to make myself feel better, but people really ought to thank me for sparing them the initial shock in seeing me without make-up.
Since I began wearing makeup as a teenager I have always worn it. Now that I’m older( 62) I feel I look older without it! When you have thin or light eyelashes , your eyes completely disappear without makeup! It’s always a part of my daily routine! Even if I’m staying home and cleaning I’m going to be wearing some if not all of my makeup!
Totally agree, do what makes you happy 👍. I'll be 70 in March, very happily retired, living alone and wear make up almost every day, even if I'm not leaving the house. For years I had horses and never bothered wearing make up to muck out stables or ride out (although I did wear make up for work so would have it on at evening stables but definitely not on a weekend unless I was going out in the evening afterwards). It's each to their own isn't it, do what makes you happy and feel good about yourself.
I do agree with you Nisha, we don't like our husbands to 'let themselves go' big beer belly, bad clothes, bad breath, messy long greasy hair....yuk! We expect them to retain their looks, so I think we need to also put in some effort too....and if it makes us feel good, noone should try and bring us down just because they are too lazy or cant be bothered to maintain themselves!! (Ive never heard you tell someone they should wear make-up because they look too boring!! So how dare they tell you you wear too much!!! As I said, I didn't have time daily, but now I do, and I love it when my husband says 'wow, you look great, where are we going?" As he is used to me doing make-up because we were going somewhere special! And its taken a while for him to say, "wow you look great", and not think we are going out!!😂❤
There are times when I go without makeup if I'm cleaning or running errands, and I admit that I feel different when I don't look my best. There's something about getting ready for the day and feeling and looking your best.
I'll nip to the shop with no makeup, I've got braver just hit my 60's but not when I'm going out out. You normally find it's like a school reunion in the local supermarket when you've not done your face 😂 x
Absolutely loved this chat thank you Neisha I’m 77 and started wearing makeup at 14 yrs old , my Mum always put on powder rouge they called it back then and lipstick every morning after she had done her housework, then in afternoon she would shower and repeat before my father came home from work, so it taught me I think, I enjoy wearing makeup and will continue to do so until I can’t. 🌺💕
I’m with you! I have rosacea with lots of redness and broken capillaries so I won’t leave the house without foundation. I think it’s fun to play with makeup and it makes me happy. You have to do what makes you feel good.
Excellent video, Nisha! When I delivered my 2nd son 33 years ago, I went in without a stitch of makeup. The next day, the nurse who helped deliver my son came into my room and stared at me (I had a full face of makeup on when she walked in). She didn't think I was the same person that delivered my son the day before. What does that tell you about me wearing no makeup! I never forgot it, and because of that, I hardly ever went out of the house without makeup. But lately, the older I get, I venture out without makeup. I was young and naive when I was in my early 30's. Age is a wonderful thing. Best, Angela
Loved this Nisha 😊😊...interesting to hear your thoughts and i totally agree with all you've said! I've had comments all my adult life (some sarcy😬), about always having makeup on and implying i must really "fancy myself"😮, but in reality, it's the opposite! ...... i'm very unconfident with no make up on and almost become a different person once i put my face on! I will be wearing makeup until my dying day😅😅. Xxx😊😊
Nisha, hello! I absolutely agree that makeup or not is a personal matter, like everything else in this world, whether I want to get married or not, if I've been there before, but I don't say never say never. Everything is changing. But without makeup or hair, I immediately become a grandmother, and I feel like my soul is even starting to shrink from my appearance. After all, cosmetics were ritual, magical since ancient times, fashion changed and makeup changed: from a pale, sickly complexion and eyes, to an expressive healthy appearance with a blush on her cheeks, with a bright look and delicate pink lips on her face- it was believed that a girl with a pale face would scare off the future groom with her sickly appearance and that people so and they will think that the girl is probably not healthy, and, of course, makeup changes the inner mood from "vinegar expressions ", as the Pope said recently, we need to get rid of and demonstrate to God and people the joy of being and this world, this does not mean that everyone should do makeup, but give joy to oneself and the world, and therefore to God. Thank you❤🌹🙏 Nisha❤❤❤❤❤xxxx
I would never go out of the house without make-up. It’s part of my identity. It started for me when I was around 14. I am very very fair with light blue eyes. My eyelashes and eyebrows are so very fair so I need make-up to give me features. As a teenager, when I started wearing contact lenses and got into makeup-up it was like a whole new world!! I always say I’m like a newly born albino mole without my make-up!!!😂😂😂 I completely agree with you Nisha…it’s make-up for yourself, no-one else. I feel so much less confident without make-up and I just love experimenting with different products and looks. I really love how it can make you feel. Thanks for this chat! Mary (your Scottish sista from a different mista living in France)🤗
Good Morning Nisha. I absolutely loved this video.❤ Makeup to me is a personal choice I make to live my absolute best life. I take pride and look after my self in all aspects such as diet, exercise, supplements, skincare etc. I take care of my home and family with the same care. Life is such a privilege so why not give it your absolute best. I wouldn’t walk out of the door without foundation and eye makeup! It’s transformative to the soul and I love the whole process of self care and ritual. Plus it just makes me feel lovely! I’m 68 and find so much enjoyment in makeup and the whole discipline of cherishing life and making myself look my best! Thank you so much Nisha for your wonderful videos. I laugh along with you! ❤❤❤
I definitely think make-up helps you look your best, the icing on the cake so to speak, every morning I look forward to putting mine on because it always makes a nice start to the day and makes me feel better Xx
I totally agree with you Nisha! I feel better when I have on makeup. I started wearing mascara when I was 13 years old and a full face by the time I was 16. I love makeup!! I look much better with makeup than without. Loved this chat! Love ya! ❤❤❤
I’ve only ever worn a small amount if makeup to work. The minute I got home, I scrubbed it off. Now I’m retired, I still dress well, rarely wear makeup. It irritates my eyes, plus I wear glasses. I’m lucky to always have been blessed with good skin, no spots etc.
I would agree with what you are saying. Basically you do you. I also enjoy putting on makeup. Some days a full face and other days very light makeup. 😊
Hi Nisha. This was such an interesting subject in your video today. I have worn make up for many years and the reason I began in my mid teens ( apart from at school!) was that I’ve always loved art, aesthetics and fashion. I’ve never worn foundation but when I highlighted my eyes and lips I felt that it enhanced my facial features. Many years later and now in my late 60’s, I think it’s a case of my feeling and looking better with, rather than without, make up. If I’m not going out, I don’t bother but I’m lucky as I have really clear skin and also it’s good to have a day free of wearing make up. However, if I go out the front door, I feel so much better if I look like I’ve made an effort and maybe that’s part of my wanting to look my best as I’m aging. Whatever, a regular cleansing and moisturising routine is essential with or without makeup up! Xx❤️🥰P.S My Pug is a snorer too !!😂🐾❤️
I love makeup worn it since I was 14 it makes me feel good about myself and it makes me happy. Its a positive thing. Each to their own I say ,do whatever makes you feel happy.Interesting hearing about the history 💄 💋 ❤
HI Nisha! You are my inspiration! I love your quirky sense of humour, but more especially, your interest and passion for make-up! Since I was tiny, I was fascinated by my mum's dressing table cosmetics (she didn't have many, because money was tight), but I remember her blue tin of Nivea face cream, some green hair gel(!), and a perfume atomiser, which I thought was the height of sophistication! I am an ad-man's dream, when it comes to skin-care/make-up/perfume/bath products etc; I lust after the Chanel's / YSL'S and Dior's, but admit, it's usually, E.L.F that I come home with - (a girl can dream)! For me, make up, is the best version of myself, that I can be...I would no more go out without make-up, than go out without brushing my teeth; it's part of that self-care ritual/pampering, whatever you call it. (of course my secret fantasy, is to be your 'cleaner', when you are having a re-set on your make-up drawer) Nisha-so that I could stash away all the 'goodies' you are throwing out! That, or get looked at at the Clinique counter for the night.... Do you think I need help?!! 😊love sue xxx 🌟
WE do it because we look better thats it! Funny lots of the women who are saying "no make is good ",still color their hair ,get boob jobs, facelifts and gain weight. ITS only a choice
So true! Pamela Anderson is being touted as revolutionary for going makeup free but she still dyes her hair, which is like makeup for your hair. I wear makeup because I look bloomin' awful without it. Each to their own, but the makeup free brigade seem to be as bossy as the going grey brigade.
I total agree I’m 76 and from the time I was 16 I have worn makeup even when I had my 3 children I would get up early enough to get myself ready to look good for me. My husband and my children I never go anywhere without my makeup on and hair done. Loved your topic today. I still look good in his eyes ❤️❤️ P.S my Husband and I have been together for 57 years. So apparently it wo
Hi Nisha! I started wearing makeup when I was 14! At first it was to camouflage my dark circles. It's hereditary with me! But very quickly make-up gave me so much more. I never go out without at least some foundation. I've appreciated it even more over the last 7 years, because I've had positive results with skincare. And cosmetics are easier to apply and the result so much more beautiful. Today I'm very confident in all aspects of my life! I take my time and I love make-up. There's always a bit of a challenge with my dark circles, but otherwise it's really the love of make-up that motivates me. Today, with the new techniques and tips you've given us, we can't help but feel “fabulous”! Have a good week! xxx
Well said Nisha I agree with your every word .I'm 45 years married and I still love dressing elegant and wearing makeup for myself and looking better for my husband Thankyou my love❤️💋💐🥰☘️
Excellent video, Nisha! I feel exactly the same way that you do. And, when I'm well groomed with my make up on I really do feel better about myself, which makes me a much more productive woman for the day which in turn benefits others! Keep up the great videos; I've been watching you since 2016 😊and I get so much from your content, you're awesome!
I am in my 40s and have loved and watched your channel for years! I love wearing makeup but also have days where I don’t. Thank you for being fabulous and encouraging us to do the same! 🤍
I'm 57 I started wearing make up at 16 in the 80's and I have everyday since and fixed my hair....I can't go out without it ever....I've gotten and get funny looks from some women and the giggles but too bad I'll never change myself and who I am for anyone. I don't feel normal without it now and that'll never change....😊
I agree with you. Part of my makeup routine is the 20 minutes of the day that is truly dedicated to myself. I enjoy the process of makeup. My mom used to say "anyone can wear a $500.00 outfit but if they don't OWN it - it'll just look sloppy. She always said, you can take a 50.00 outfit, fix your hair, put a little color on the face, put on clean shoes and you will look like a MILLION bucks every time and also stand tall!
Absolutely well said. I completely agree with you. I'm lucky to still have very good skin at 50, I've had it my whole life. So a BB cream and mascara are enough for me. As I'm also a very pale complexion type, I think a bit of freshness and emphasis are completely fine. I've also been asked several times by colleagues if I'm not feeling well (and the question always came up when I wasn't wearing any kind of makeup). So everyone does what they feel comfortable with. Thank you for addressing this topic so openly and honestly.👍
I always try to look my best...that includes makeup, hair done and wearing nice clothes when I'm out and about. It makes me cringe to see office attire nowadays. With that said, that is what makes me feel good and if someone else is happy with no makeup and hair not done, then by all means that is what they should do.
Hi all, I wear the basics if i have time when running errands. If not, i go barefaced. I've never been a makeup wearer. My mom either. I'm 64 now and like to wear a tinted sunscreen but i do have foundation in a shopping cart for the 1st time in my life! 😂 I love your makeup Nisha. I feel the opposite when i have "makeup" on. I'm not sure it looks good so I'm self-conscious. I also go through phases-- i wear it for awhile then don't. I never thought about me being unapproachable.... maybe there's something to that. 🤔 Hmmm
The only time I go out without makeup is when I have my yearly visit with the dermatologist (which coincidentally I had today). I felt like I looked my 69 years without makeup on. Makeup makes me feel good and I know it makes me look better. Plus, I love putting it on every day even if I have no where to go.
I totally agree with you Nisha, putting on makeup is part of my morning routine, and makes me feel good and more confident. I really like your curls, I have been adding curls to my hair recently also!
Totally agree, I have worn eye makeup since the sixties when I was a teenager , and still after all these years , and more makeup, would never go across the doors without it ! Love your videos and obviously agree with everything you say on makeup. X
Amen sister! I’ve been playing with makeup since I was in grade school. I’m 61 now and still love my makeup! I do it for me as I feel better when I’m put together. I don’t do it if I’m just bumming around the house, but most days I get out so that means I’m putting my face on! I even wear makeup to the gym. Nothing heavy, but I do wear all the things. Great chat!
I wore foundation at high school to cover my acne. Since I've got older I'm more scared I wear make up wrong and people will judge me for how bad it is. Big cuddles for Lois ❤️
My mom used to dress up too for work and I think I got it from her. I liked it from a teen. My mom didn't want me to wear makeup too young, but I always had dark circles and was pale. At 14 , I would cover up the circles. But I didn't wear foundation until my 30's when I saw the sun damage from my teens. I agree with you that it makes me feel better and for some of us, if we look better we feel better even when we are having bad days.
I don't wear make up if I'm staying at home and relaxing or if I go for a walk. If I step out to go to a store, bank, or post office to get my mail, I will wear at least eye make up and lipstick. I wear full make up for work, going out, etc.I do find not wearing make up "freeing", however, I will never give up make up entirely. I am pale, blonde, blonde eye brows and lashes, and I have freckles at my tender age (61). I love make up. Funny, I do have friends who never wear make up because they don't care to and friends who are married, who don't feel make up is necessary. To each her own. Thank you for talking about this topic.
I agree, we should all do what makes us feel good. I’m 55 and very much like to look and feel my best every day, but in recent years have concentrated on the health and condition of my skin, so no longer feel the need to cover my face up most days. I wear very minimal make up and love the natural look, as does my husband. I think that normalising not wearing make up if we don’t want to is a good thing and we’d probably all feel better about our bare faces if it was more socially accepted. I don’t think going make up free means not making an effort or looking a mess. We can go make up free and still look nice and put together. It’s more about looking after ourselves in general. It does make me sad when people comment negatively on celebrities who aren’t wearing makeup. I mean, it’s how their face really looks and why shouldn’t they show their natural bare face. Anyway, each to their own, but I wish people in general were a bit kinder and more accepting (I don’t mean you Nisha!) Your make up always looks lovely by the way. 😊
I agree with you. I work from home. I feel so much more together & productive when I at least put my skincare on & get dressed. I do sometimes just get up & start working in my pjs. That is fine from time to time but I eventually have to kick myself in the butt. If I do it too many times in a row. Lol I can leave the house with minimal makeup. However, a full face I feel much more confident! I LOVE that flower arrangement!
I'm with you Nisha, all the way everyday, I feel naked without makeup and enjoy looking and feeling better for wearing it. Thanks for the history on how makeup began and I'll keep on wearing it forever as it's my favourite thing about myself. I feel when I've done a good job and look so much better for it, its worth the time and effort. ❤😊
I think there's an art to applying makeup and through self discovery I felt it enhanced my features as a young person and it was relaxing which grew into the habit of wanting to look put together which was always an interest. I don't focus on the insecurity of being seen without it, yet it's rare I would go out completely bare faced. I just really enjoy it, but go naked quite a bit @ home lol. I think it's the luxury of being the woman that I was born and I'm attracted to it. Basic skincare routine from drugstore skincare products and even something like Aveeno face wash got rid of a few dark spots or freckling so I would assume the same with yours. At Christmas I purchased an Estee Lauder skincare bundle with an additional 9 piece gift set, as I used the oil from a sample before and liked it. I have a few products from the Ordinary I still need to try and I scored @ TJ Max earlier and found some deals so I'm stocked up on skincare and makeup for awhile. I do love foundation like you and feel it evens out decent skin and makes me feel fresh 😊
Hi Nisha, I totally agree with you. I feel so much better about myself with makeup. I do it for myself I enjoy doing it and my husband really loves that I take care of myself. I agree 💯 do what makes you feel good. 💜💜💜
This was great. ❤ As for me I have never ever been out of my house without at least what I call half face. I feel I look down right ugly and raggedy without makeup. I don't put makeup on on the weekends if we aren't going anywhere. I get tired of fooling with after spending 45 min every morning for work just on my face. Oh and I'm 59.
I love makeup and I enjoy putting it on every morning. I'm 67 and I do it for myself and I don't think my husband would care if I stopped, but I do tweak it here and there as I age. We should do what is right for us as individuals, who cares what others think ❤
I have loved wearing makeup and been interested in it since I was a young girl. I’ve enjoyed applying it and experimenting with different techniques for many years. It makes me feel confident and pretty when I have makeup on although my world doesn’t end if for some reason I have to leave the house without it. I try to look my best for myself as well as my husband. I know now that we’re in our 70’s that’s not always possible sometimes due to medical issues but I still try to “fluff up” a bit if I can. It’s a signal to the world that I value and respect myself enough to put a good face forward. We all have different ways of doing that and if makeup isn’t your thing, no problem, do you. I bet though that women who don’t wear makeup have other ways of making themselves feel beautiful. Isn’t it wonderful how unique we all are!
FABULOUS VIDEO! You can have a great confident attitude about yourself. Feel strong and good with or without makeup. That comes from within. But the truth is that makeup does mostly enhance how we look - even if it's just lipstick and mascara. I can't even go check the mail in the mailbox without putting on lip gloss LOL
100 %!!! I feel very insecure without makeup. I don’t wear a lot. I am very fair and have gotten so used to how just a little makeup brings out my features. I feel that I look sick without it, since you cant see my lashes and brows since they are so light. But I think it’s definitely only due to the pressure of society. If i never started wearing makeup I might feel different. I don’t go outside without it, sadly.
I feel just like you do about make up, I am an almost 65 year old retired widow and I still work hard on my appearance, hair, make-up skin care and weight. It is important to me how I present. My husband was a big fan ❤
If I leave the house without makeup, I can be confident I will run into 4 people I know. One being an old high school boyfriend. I wear makeup everywhere. Wear none at home.
I agree with your views Nisha. I’m 72 and wear makeup every day, not for anyone else, just because I feel a bit more ‘polished’ and I want to look what I consider is my best. I think people take you more seriously if you’ve taken time to present yourself well - tidy person, tidy mind, tidy job 😅! Thanks for your videos Nisha. 😘😘
Makeup and skin care go hand in hand. You can't have one without the other. I feel pulled together and confident wearing just the basics, lips, mascara. Ckean skin & tinted sun screen ❤ ❤
Nisha… you nailed it. I feel terrific with my pretty face all made up everyday. Some days more makeup and some days less makeup, but always with make-up….even if I’m staying home. Hugs from Canada. 🇨🇦
I'm team makeup! At 62, I have never gone to work without makeup! On the weekends, I may skip it but if I have to make a quick trip to the market I'm praying I don't run into someone I know....haha!
Hi Nisha I totally agree with what you say, I feel so much better when I wear makeup, I don’t wear much but it just gives me more confidence and I also agree about making an effort for my husband we’ve been married 36 years x 😊
I once told a daughter in law that I wear makeup to keep my husband out of jail !! If my husband saw me barefaced he might shoot me as an intruder!!! I don't even know myself without makeup. I sleep in it and clean up and reapply in the morning after coffee. I just feel myself when I look put together. Never use soap and water on my face just cold cream and toner and I have a pretty nice complexion for an 78 year old. I totally recommend no water. I use the works ,foundation ,shadow, liner, false lashes , etc. The only one I have to please is me now and the makeup routine happens every day wether I am home alone or not. Great conversation and take care,
I love wearing makeup, I love makeup in general , feeling beautiful and beautiful things , its our Venus as woman to want to feel beautiful, and beauty is up to everyone’s perspective but for me , its a part of my daily routine as a part of my beauty and skincare routine, why make all the effort for everything else and not myself! Im 54 years young ,this is a great conversation ❤
this video about no makeup no confidence was great to see. I am retired so dont wear much makeup anymore as mostly at home but I do wear concealer around my eyes due to heavy dark circles and some blush for my cheeks but more when going out actually dont wear foundation anymore only to special occassion due to skincare I zone in more there so my skin is hydrated and plump. I used to go to my dermatslogist due to psoriasis issues and advised back in the 90's look after you skin wear spf clean moistures and do microdermabrasion on my skin so now 57 years young dont have much wrinkles due to my Doctor back then. As he saw horrific skin conditions in using the incorrect skincare reactions to certain patiences. This is a personal view and everybody is different on how they perceive themselfs. But got me into wearing more makeup when you first came out in youtube years ago. Thanks for your informative video. You do you your way. Happy Days.🤩❤💄
Nisha, I grew up similar to you. Blue eyed blonde with fair skin and some freckles. I was not allowed to wear makeup in school (convent school Ireland). It was forbidden. I did sneak a little mascara and I was good. The 80’s changed everything. Bright flashy colors and permed hair or spiked hair were the in thing. I was influenced when I went to Spain, everyone was a bronze goddess and I was Northern European and had no melanoma so I would burn. It was torture. I envied all of those girls and prayed my vacation would end quickly so I could be with my own people . I got into fashion and makeup at 22yrs. I felt bare without makeup. Roll on 30 years and I have a beautiful family-boys. They say I look better without makeup…omg what gives. I really don’t wear a lot of makeup anymore . I live in southern California now and most people are NOT what you see in the Van Halen videos. There are the exceptions but most of us work and are not bronzed per se and don’t spend our free time at the beach. I live in a coastal low key community so dressing up seems out of place. I do were minimal makeup to work but could care less what other people think anymore. Gosh if only I had this wisdom when I was 20. It’s true, the older you become, the wiser you become. Thanks again for the chat. Stay fab too.
I really enjoyed this! I’ve been wearing makeup since I was in my teens. I still wear makeup and enjoy the color. It makes me look more vibrant and like I’m open to enjoying life and keeping up with things! Loved hearing Louis snore. He is safe and content!😄❤Thanks Nisha! Liked you sharing the research.
I have always worn makeup but as I am getting older the most important thing is my hair and then makeup. I make sure my hair looks good (even if unwashed). I have cut down on the amount of makeup but will never go out without under eye concealer (due to dark circles),blush/highlighter and lipstick. I have always had good skin with no discolouration so foundation isn’t needed. This is my usual routine if going shopping but any other time I will apply eye shadow, liner and mascara.

Ah, thank you. I am so glad that I was a part of your journey to "Find yourself", good for you xx
I just feel insecure without my makeup & hair done & dressed well. Every time I go to the store looking my worst, I see everyone I know!!
I’m a wig wearer too, because of hair loss, and it even makes what you are wearing look better! Love my wigs!
@@carolynhamilton3316 I agree, it really does.
Same here
Me too
I agree. Even to the corner store, I have to put make up on.
Thank you x
I'm also 75..unfortunately I have alot of wrinkles..even though I've always cared for my skin...I think not I'm invisible....
Nisha, that vase and flower arrangement next to you are gorgeous x
Yes, i liked that, wonder if its new?
I'm all about embracing my natural look, but there's something about having my eyebrows done that makes me feel more polished 😌
Louis & his Snoring is SO PRECIOUS 🥰❤🐶❤
Awww it was so sweet
Louie is very busy!, 😂 leave him alone. 😂😂😂
I agree with you completely.
I’m so glad that the trend goes to a nude looking makeup ! I think too much makeup makes you look older😊
I am not trying to look younger so I don't care if makeup makes me look older, I care that it makes me feel better
You are saying everything I always thought myself. Nice to hear it from someone else!
Mary (your Scottish sista from a different mista living in France)🤗
a newly born albino mole 😂😂😂, I feel like a witch lol
@ 😆🤣🤣🤣 No way!
Good Morning Nisha. I absolutely loved this video.❤
Makeup to me is a personal choice I make to live my absolute best life. I take pride and look after my self in all aspects such as diet, exercise, supplements, skincare etc. I take care of my home and family with the same care. Life is such
a privilege so why not give it your absolute best.
Totally agree. I will not go out the front door without it
I am an ad-man's dream, when it comes to skin-care/make-up/perfume/bath products etc; I lust after the Chanel's /
YSL'S and Dior's, but admit, it's usually, E.L.F that I come home with - (a girl can dream)! For me, make up, is the best version of myself, that I can be...I would no more go out without make-up, than go out without brushing my teeth; it's part of that self-care ritual/pampering,
whatever you call it. (of course my secret fantasy, is to be your 'cleaner', when you are having a re-set on your make-up drawer) Nisha-so that I could stash away all the 'goodies' you are throwing out! That, or get looked at at the Clinique counter for the night.... Do you think I need help?!! 😊love sue xxx
🌟
My husband and my children
I never go anywhere without my makeup on and hair done.
Loved your topic today.
I still look good in his eyes ❤️❤️
P.S my Husband and I have been together for 57 years.
Merci xx
Excellent video, Nisha! I feel exactly the same way that you do. And, when I'm well groomed with my make up on I really do feel better about myself, which makes me a much more productive woman for the day which in turn benefits others! Keep up the great videos; I've been watching you since 2016 😊and I get so much from your content, you're awesome!
Thank you so much xx
I won't go out without my make-up I don't feel confident enough! X
Hi. Nisha. Lovely video. Nice chatty informative. And nice to see you relaxed xx❤🎉
Oh loving the vase in the corner 🎉.x
I agree with you 💯
Hi all, I wear the basics if i have time when running errands.
I love my make-up...never will i been seen without it..❤
Amen sister! Great chat!
Thanks for sharing!!
I agree with you! I never leave the house without makeup. Great discussion!
Nisha you always make me smile ❤
Love that!
Great chat! I love hearing Louie snore!
Glad you enjoyed it!
😂😂yes agree that always happens
Great conversation and take care,
😂😂 that is so funny x
I completely agree with you as far as looking nice for yourself and your husband. He didn't meet you while looking like a bum.
I put makeup on every morning when I go to work or if I stay home. I feel better about myself ❤
Great conversation! I just love to put makeup on. Even days I don't go out I apply it. Perfume and earrings are also a daily must!!
Agree 100% with you. I wear makeup because I want to look my best, it makes me feel better. 😊
You are absolutely right I agree.. do what makes you feel good..❤
