No adult should have told her she was in danger of trans girls coming in her girlsroom at school. From the start of the school year when the school is notified that a trans girl is enrolling, the school designates tue transgirls room is on the first floor in the east wing. It's a dereliction of duty that this school has put the children in its care in this position. This young woman - who admits that she finds it embarrassing to be unwrapping period products in the bathrooms - has been put in the position that she has had to stand up in front of the entire student body, their parents, and teachers to talk about bodily functions. This is incredibly sensitive terrain for young people, I really feel for her.
In Canada , the government spoke of putting sanitary product machines in all bathrooms , because "boys have periods too". I guess thats for the girls that have transitioned to boys.

Thing is, who will feel more uncomfortable. A female having someone formerly a male (or with a male body still) using their bathroom. Or males having someone that's always used their bathroom but is now a female. The reason they're separate is the same as a male and female sibling having separate bedrooms when they're no longer children. It's just normal decency and privacy. Give these people their own bathroom otherwise, that'd be respectful to everyone.

Inside the stall, you do your "business" (your number 1 and/or 2), but outside the stall boys and girls change clothes, fix their make up, adjust their undergarments, and more. They can't do that in public or in the presence of the opposite sex so they do it in restrooms or locker rooms. People are scared of mixing sexes because it makes both sides uncomfortable. Theoretically, predators could try to identify as trans just to come in to the girls restrooms, but thankfully we haven't heard of such cases making headlines. Not yet at least.

It's a dereliction of duty that this school has put the children in its care in this position. This young woman - who admits that she finds it embarrassing to be unwrapping period products in the bathrooms - has been put in the position that she has had to stand up in front of the entire student body, their parents, and teachers to talk about bodily functions. This is incredibly sensitive terrain for young people, I really feel for her.
In Canada , the government spoke of putting sanitary product machines in all bathrooms , because "boys have periods too". I guess thats for the girls that have transitioned to boys.

The reason they're separate is the same as a male and female sibling having separate bedrooms when they're no longer children. It's just normal decency and privacy. Give these people their own bathroom otherwise, that'd be respectful to everyone.

We just had this training at my job and if i have an issue with an opposite gendered using the bathroom when I’m in it because their new pronouns make it ok, then I AM considered the one who needs correcting, because if i object to it, I’m a bigot who is phobic and whatever “ist” is correct. We were told if we see someone we know to be using a bathroom they aren’t biologically set up for headed to the bathroom at the same time as us, it is considered hate if we stop, let them go first and wait for them to exit.

More and more we are seing 8 or 9 year olds showing much more logic and maturity than most Adults these days.

Inside the stall, you do your "business" (your number 1 and/or 2), but outside the stall boys and girls change clothes, fix their make up, adjust their undergarments, and more. They can't do that in public or in the presence of the opposite sex so they do it in restrooms or locker rooms.
People are scared of mixing sexes because it makes both sides uncomfortable. Theoretically, predators could try to identify as trans just to come in to the girls restrooms, but thankfully we haven't heard of such cases making headlines. Not yet at least.

Agreed would solve every problem. But it would be hella expensive for tax paiers. I'd suggest just give trans students a key for the teachers bathroom since there's rarely gonna be more then 3-4. And just make a third toilet whenever new public restrooms are built.

Just offer one-room-bathrooms. Several rooms with just one toilet and sink, so that everybody, boy, girl, cisgender, transgender, able-bodied, disabled can use a restroom alone. Just label that restroom and put cleaning agents there, so that everybody can clean the toilet when they're done.

Aside from the prohibitive (!) cost of retrofitting existing schools with such a set-up, it's just not practical in large secondary schools, where you've got dozens or hundreds of students rushing to the same bathrooms at the same limited time (lunchbreak and change of classes). The local high school in my area has 2300 students, the middle school over 1000.
It's plain and simple. If you have male bits, go to a male toilet, if you have female bits, use a female one irrespective of what you identify as.

Many were maimed. Look up triangle shirtwaist fire and really read all about it. Forget fairness. Horses were treated better. If you think any of that was wrong to change.
