Thank you so much, sir. My daddy passed away almost 2 months ago and I'm trying to learn how to keep the property cut. You have been such a blessing to me! May God bless you!!!
wow, crazy that this video is serving the same purpose for me as two others. lost my dad recently and have no idea how to start this thing! thank you for what you do
Thank you for this! My dad just passed away and I needed to move this mower to make more space in the garage and this helped me start and move it. I felt so powerful!
Thanks so much! We've had one for years and my husband always mows but he's been sick for a bit so I decided to tackle it today, then decided I needed to watch a tutorial. Thanks again!
Same here. My hubby died a few months back, and the grass is now long enough to hide the pygmies that attack without provocation. (just kidding) He was a blokey bloke who got terrified at the thought of women touching his tools, so I never learned to use most of his things, including the mower. Thanks for the tutorial - our machine is about 7 or 8 years old, but I hope the basics are similar across the models. Will let you know how I go. Cheers
Thank you so much! I've been trying to figure out why my mower wouldn't start. It's because when it'd go dead, I'd try to start it then with the power on switch for blade in up, or on position. I'll now know notvto do this. Actually excited, thar now hopefully will be able to mow my yard by myself, being a widow hast been easy. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU ,SO VERY MUCH!
I wish I had seen this video five years ago. Helpful and useful information. After spending a career training folks on operating computers (with a lot of emotional support ;o)), when I asked my spouse for "first time running" instructions he replied "you'll figure it out"...sigh...the micro movements surprised me the most! I make sure I fill the gas before starting (only recently discovered about upper fill line level having no manuals to refer to) so I do not run out on a hilly part which is tricky to get started again. Many thanks!
I have searched all over RUclips for someone to show me how to start this machine and also what to do, if I needed to push the machine !! On top of that you also shared some other very useful tips !! Thank you Sir. :) Much respect and appreciation for sharing your knowledge, from Australia !!
Hi Toni, I'm glad this was helpful and thank you for the kind comment! Please give this a like and tell your friends about my channel to help it grow. It would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for watching.
I have a 52" raptor limited with 23 hp Kawasaki I bought new in 2018. I have had 0 issues with that mower, it's the best thing I ever bought. When I put gas in it I pour gas in until I see it start to come up in the bottom of the neck and I never had a problem with that.it is fun to use and it cut my mowing time in half, had a lawn tractor before.
The model you have is a very nice machine!! Just remember to perform preventative yearly and if taken care of properly, that mower should be the last one you will need!
I'm glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching and the kind comment. Please give this video a like and share my channel to help it grow. It would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you! I’m a single female. My fiancé bought this for me before he died. I used it 3 times, but uncomfortably. Now I have to use it for the first time this season, and even though I’m still nervous, I feel more confident!! Much better than the “training I got when we purchased it.
Make sure you bring the handles in evenly together. Pull both in at the same time. Checked connections to the seat switch. If you have a emergency brake, make sure it’s off. I cannot help you more than that without seeing the machine.
Things to look out for (not good) when purchasing, loud bearing noises, white smoke coming from engine muffler when it’s running, any oil leaks, dry rotted tires, check all belts for cracks, if machine has over 400 hrs. beware you may need a lot of service work.
Thanks for sharing, I got a lot of information that I was seeking from watching your video. It's hard to find one that shows how to start the blades, which should be a lot easier to find on the internet, but it mainly shows how to change out the blades.😂 So, I thank you for the information and the extra information on how to move the mower manually. This helps. Thank you, thank you, thank you!🫡

question. I have a Hustler zero turn and the right control will not go into park position. It is locked in the center position. It will go forward and backwards but not to hard right. The left one will. but it will not start. I don't know what to do with it.
It sounds like the pivot may be either jammed up with debris or frozen from rust?? Look at the other side that is working to see where it pivots then go to the side that doesn't work and see what you can see. PB Blaster is my go to for frozen parts.
Not that I'm aware of, If your Hustler is like the one in this video. The handles should move freely not matter how you turn off the machine. check all linkages that attach to the arm. Sounds like something is either off or jammed up to make the handle not work. Impossible to diagnose it without seeing it.
My mower is not starting.. I believe I left the crank switch on because everything else is good.. I’ve tried cranking it and it sounds like it wants to start but it doesn’t any idea?
If the engine is not spinning over when you to the ignition key to crank? You have a dead battery. Most likely due to leaving the ignition key on. Charge the battery.
Make sure the seat switch is plugged in and your string firmly on the seat. Sometimes the seat switch doesn’t get pressed in hard enough. You also may need the handles all the way out. I do not remember as these machines come into shop then leave so I cannot just hop on it to see.
The deck sometimes acts like it won’t engage; the belts squeal when engaging the PTO. Dealer said to only engage at full RPM. That’s seems like it’s awfully hard on everything involved! What’s you opinion?
The belts squealing is normal because your turn a metal pulley on a rubber belt from 0 to go in a instant when you pull up the PTO switch turning your blades on. I agree with you. I try 1/2 to 3/4 throttle and turn it on before you get into the grass to keep the drag down from the grass trying to slow it down. Keep your blades sharp, deck clean underneath and do not cut wet grass and the mower deck will be happy!! and the machine will do well. Most people do not realize those simple steps goes a vary long way in keeping the machine running well. Yes, perform the rest of preventative maintenance but I am giving you pointers on the deck itself.
@@JohnsonsSmallEngines so the blades don’t turn; the PTO engages but blades don’t (and there’s smoke, sorry I neglected to tell you that up front). After shutting down, the blades don’t turn freely,

Excellent tutorial. I never heard of that brand. Sounds like you recommend for home use though.
Hustler in our area was well known for commercial use then they started making home owners version and this one is home owners version.
How do I lower the blades to mow my lawn? I’m a new owner of hustler riding lawnmower. It’s not cutting any grass. I think the blades are too high.
Watch the video at 4:11 minutes in. I show you how to perform that task.
Thanks as always. We appreciate your help!

Ty. I call this machine the “homeowner” version. It’s definitely not commercial grade and this is seen in the price. It’s perfect for home use.

can it be shut down improperly. turn key off while handle is in center position and not to the right park position? could that have caused it?
