8MM is right up there with Se7en for me, not as god obviously but it’s dark and gritty. I love that movie, they’re insane to have it so far up the list. I definitely agree it’s top 20, I’d even argue top 10.

Nicholas Cage is my spirit animal. That said, I think that so many of his greatest films were put to far down the list. But, I do appreciate being clued into some of his movies that I've never even heard of. Gonna have me a Cage-a-thon!
Where is Next ? It's this movie which made me discover Nick's true potential : he's (almost) never overacting and delivers a wonderful performance as a man who can see what will happen to him and around him in the next 2 minutes.
Adaptation is among my top 5 favorite movies of all time. I’m overjoyed to see it make #1. Also, Weather Man is super underrated. It’s worth the price of admission alone for the scene when Michael Caine tries to explain what a camel toe is.
Am I the only one who noticed that pop icon Prince made a cameo appearance in Bringing Out The Dead! 37:28 is the time in the video where you can clearly see him holding hands with Vhing Rhames. Someone else had to have notice this. He's on the right of screen and it's definitely Prince.
Please do more of these with other beloved characters, i know it’ll be hard to match 91, but like Samuel L. Jackson or other people with very large and sporadic lists of movies. This was fun
Things have changed, these days there's the Marvel crap-fest with each movie (in their respectful series) being worse than the previous (save for a couple of cool and isolated ideas) and still making more money... Star Wars has died and people are still convincing themselves that the Mandalorian isn't complete **** except for the neat illustrations at the end of episodes and everyone's gone stupid as the time to pay for the vaccine comes. My fear is that not even something like the new Top Gun is gonna cut it, just too many idiot shoppers. :)
FYI: Elisabeth Shue was *nominated* for Best Actress in _Leaving Las Vegas._ What you neglected to mention is that Cage *won* Best Actor for his performance in the same film!
I love how 2 of my favorites - Drive Angry and A Family Man - are right next to each other. We watch AFM together as a family every Christmas. The only bad thing I can say about DA is that I can't recite my favorite scenes in mixed company, or in front of our daughters. I also like Croods, Gone in 60 Seconds (although I like the original better & can't stand Giovanni Ribisi), 8mm, and, of course, Leaving Las Vegas.
How his minimal role in Spider-Man Enter the Spiderverse is ranked above his role in Leaving Las Vegas clearly shows WhatCulture has no idea what they’re talking about and just looked up movie rankings. Truly an awful job by them.

Whew! What a list! He's got a lot of great movies, and a little something from every era of Cage makes it into the top 15/20 which is great to see. I'd personally switch Kiss of Death with 8mm, I think 8mm is a much better film in about every way even if the subject matter is very dark. I'd have Lord of War a bit higher too, definitely one of my all time favs. Also nice to see The Weatherman & Matchstick Men get some love, as I think they have some of Cage's best performances but are largely forgotten.
G-Force is a GREAT movie, I am offended. It's funny and features guinea pigs. I saw it in the theatre when it came out, and there was a young boy in the audience who stood up at one point near the end when someone said they were gophers (or something) and yelled, "They're GUINEA PIGS!" I have seen this film many times in the past year or so, as my 5yo son likes it a lot too. In fact, we just watched it again today.

You could come up with very different lists rating the movies either by quality, how enjoyable they were or Cage's best performances. For example The Cotton Club would be right up near the top in a quality based list while Kiss of Death would be right up there in a list of Cage's best performances. I chose to go with how much I enjoyed each movie and whether I'd rush to see it again as my criteria so my list is very different to yours. 1: 8MM 2: Snake Eyes 3: City Of Angels 4: Wild At Heart 5: Leaving Las Vegas 6: Con Air 7: National Treasure 8: It Could Happen To You 9: The Rock 10: Lord Of War I now have a list of 10 other Cage movies I haven't seen that I really have to watch now. Always great to remember what a varied career this man had. It is easy to think he is the crazy, over the board actor and nothing more, but what he brought to the films is a sight to behold.
I haven't watched the whole thing yet, I'm doing it in parts. But I strenuously applaud this effort. Even in the bottom 20, there's a Cage movie I want to see, just because.
