Owl being one of the only bosses in the whole game immune to your cheese feels oddly appropriate. The old man knows all your shinobi tricks.
You can actually do the door cheese thing from phase one of the Genichiro fight on him, but it seems he opted to fight him without it to demonstrate what it looks like to "solve" his fight.
He's not so much cheese as just gimmick him back with a shuirken dash it negates half his moveset by keeping close and side step his heal negation for free dmg

Mainly cause it's super fast doesn't cost anything and you get massive stagger and in the final boss you can 4 combo genichiro with a mikiri counter and a few mortals just dodging him

I always thought it was weird that when sword saint ishin shows up for the final boss fight, he's supposed to be in his peak form, but despite clearly de-aging somewhat from how he is when he's alive for the majority of the game, he goes from looking like he's gone from 85 to maybe 60. You'd think his physical peak would at least give him more muscle on his scrawny old man frame.

Sekiro, King's Field 4, ds3 and elden ring are my top 4 fromsoft games
Fun fact: you can dodge Isshin's stomp to fully avoid the stun, and position yourself behind and to the left of him to be completely safe during the phase transition. While the strat you used was efficient, it can be optimised greatly with very little effort indeed.
Oh, and dodging towards him when he jumps backwards in phases 2 and three, besides when he uses lightning, means more vitality and posture damage because you can straight up interrupt whatever he tries to do. Works like a charm, especially against Inner Isshin, who would use even the slightest chance to do that stupid dashing combo.
Yeah I know about dodging the stomp, I just mistimed it but wasn't gonna throw the attempt on that basis alone

Great video as usual. Sword Saint Isshin can be completely damageless including lightning reversal if you use Mist Raven or Sakura Dance - though that requires defeating Inner Genichiro in the Divine Heir gauntlet, which can only be accessed in NG+.

I've had this game for about a year or so and only have beaten one boss, the guy in the field that fights you on horseback. But I still suck at fighting "field bosses" with two posture breaks, currently I'm stuck on Lady Butterfly so I'm trying to level up my skills more before dying to her again, only more slowly 😂
