@@SimonHosford I have a question how to you do the chords on the beginning of the cathedral part is there any trick effect pedal I've been trying to figure that out for a long time
@@colinoneill-hz9cb Hi Colin :) There’s only the main delay that runs throughout to get the echoes. 1 loud repeat at about 400 ms. Ed is just hitting his left hand on the strings to sound the chord and using his volume knob to swell the sound in. Does that make sense? Best, Simon 🤟
@SimonHosford I see so I guess he uses the Roland sde 3000 digital delay at one loud repeat and hammers on a chord with his left hand at the same time with volume swells coming in. Thank you
The stunning thing about this is that Simon has learnt the whole piece of Eddie improvisation tap, bomb, squeal and note for note. Simple fugging sensational. Sensational work Simon, thank you.
Lost count of the amount of time that I've shared this video on other Van Halen pages. Simply unbelievable. The feel, control and tone are spectacular 👌🏻👌🏻.
Pretty astounding work there, well done. Showtime movie channel played this concert (I think before it was released on VHS) and I saw it at a friend’s house, my first real introduction to EVH. This solo literally changed my life forever. I was watching your video and at first thought “what’s this loser doing, miming along to Ed??? Then I realized the audio was you!!!
@@charleslivingston803 haha thank you so much Charles! That means a lot. It took a lot of work but was a very fun challange. Merry Christmas to you sir 🤟🌲
@ I don’t think anyone has ever seriously tackled the entire LWAN solo before. I know Ed said it wasn’t an especially good performance, but jeez his standards were so high. I think it’s a masterpiece.
i heard in your original upload that you would be posting a tutorial? im eagerly awaiting it! this rendition is unlike any other and youve really managed to capture all of the nuances. ive seen some other videos of yours and the likeness is uncanny, well done :)
Exactly played by Van Halen's amazing work, it is extremely difficult for only a few to repeat. You are one of the few who have done this. Great respect to you"
What a tribute to EVH and fellow guitarist and fans. Outstanding dedication to the nuance and tones of this live solo. The best I've seen on RUclips. I'm so glad I found your channel! Joe from Atlanta Georgia USA
Simmon you should have been invited to go on tour with Sammy! I'm not hating on Joe but he couldn't get the job done!! Thanks for sharing my brother 🙏 🤟🤟
Aww thank you so much Michael! And Merry Christmas to you and your family :) I grew up with Joe's guitar playing and music, so I could never hate on him either, but frmo what I saw online, I have to say there would have been many many other choices (Dweezil, Nuno, etc) that would have done a much better job. It was like he learned everything at the last minute.. but thank you for your very kind compliment my brother 🤟
With the exception of the original show by master EVH, this was the most incredible thing I've ever heard on guitar, congratulations friend, I hope to reach your level one day.
Wow, that is most excellent. You nailed the tone, and the fact that you are able to play it at the same speed as Eddie is commendable indeed. I can’t play it at exactly the same speed, but I would love to figure out how you got that tone.
😵💫Amazing precision, tone, feel, sync, you nailed it! Here's hoping you'll do a live VHII show with the black and yellow 🍺! I'm lovin' all the vids on your channel, as well.

Most of it is available tabbed in the right here right now live tab book. It’s played in a bit of a different order though. It’s a crazy ass tab though.
