Word. But I never choosing fewer keys. That 4gig of ram trumps 2 gig any day. And button layout is not a real issue because it all comes down to muscle memory.
The MPC Key 61 was not created to carry down the street, on the bus, to the park, to work for lunch etc. It's a serious piece of equipment intended for studio and/or live performance when incorporated with the right gear. It also may appeal to musicians who play keys more so than beatmakers who have little use for 61 keys understandably. Secondly, the SD card complaints seem to overlook the simple fact that there are two USB slots and many versions of SD card adapters, not to mention available, onboard SSD size of your choosing. Remember this part of Albert Einstein' quote about some people. "They have a problem for every solution.” All due respect, these companies are in business to make a profit and if they added everything that everybody wants, then what would people complain about? The Price!!
Love my key 37. I got a 2tb SSD drive on mine. Ram is not an issue.. Didn't but the key 61 just because of the size. Sold my one+ but still have my MPC one for travel.
I have no MPC yet (was on Maschine+) and will buy the key 61 because you get so many more plugins that are not included with key 37. I have no Air Music plugins and would have to buy them and with the key 61 I get them, with key 37 I only get 9 plugins. The price difference between key 37 and 61 is only 350 bucks in my country…

I have both and though either is fine especially this speakers and battery on mpc3, but I just love the ergonomics and keys on key 37! If you really need convenience, than mpc3. You won't find yourself playing in public places like I thought! That more for dreamers who want a perfect set up! I think you get more done because of the layout and keys on key 37! It just feels more workstation like, but anything you can do on one, you can do on the other! If your only working at home or at a gig where speakers and electricity is present then 37! If your a Street performer or you just want to play out in the park than mpc3. But I pulled this thing out in public on long bus ride gathering a lot of attention and would play my mpc3 under wraps just to not answer a million questions! Mpc3 is great on a 15 hr flight! But in a hotel room, you wish you had a key 37 and some head phones!
@ just got both. The 61 sounds much better and fuller. Especially on drums and 808s. The 37 sounds edgy and thin. Need the portability of the 37. Akai’s a trip for that cheap sound card they put in the 37.
I bought the 61 key but i didnt like it. Took too much to record my beats and save songs. Sounds are great but the process of making beats were terrible. I might try this one out but im thinking it wont be much of a difference.
I would have put 4 gb of ram as cars and ssd driver land memory card slot on the mpc key 37 cause if the mpc with all the features you’ll make the choice to buy it or not consumers choice
For the time being.... ill stick to my Live Mk2 Retro and The Mpk Mini Plus ➕️ I dig the keys 61. I have all the instruments and ssd i need there. I just wish the keys 37 was battery powered at the very least! Its a deal breaker for me personally! Akai.... you almost had it though 😅
Thanks. Nice to know the 3 reasons you give mean nothing to me. All about the right fit on an individual basis. The 3 reason's I'll go with the 61 are 1) The included plug ins, 2) the extra ram to enable running those plug ins, 3) the transport controls, 4) Midi through, 5) individually adjustable Audio in with XLR and independent phantom power switching, 6) on board touch strip, 7) oh and did I mention 61 keys? Sorry but a few more than 3 reasons which mean little to me personally. I also much prefer a built in SSD. If I want portability I'll just take my Live2 along with a beat up old M-Audio KeyRig 49 I picked up at a junk shop 10 years ago. Don't even need to plug into power with that. I think it's a bit silly to offer recommendations regarding choice of equipment with zero knowledge of the purchaser's requirements. There is no 'best'. Only what suits the individual's needs.
@@MarcusElbowI have a live2 and yesterday I bought a used 2020 Force for $800. I'm waiting for the shipment to check what kind of machine it is and whether it is really that good.
Dont get rid of your 61 it has more feature than 37…. And 61 sound better all of them I use mine as flagship stays in studio and travel with key 37 love them bough😍
@@WeCreateMusicTVyou got to ask akai that lol idk what they did but 61 sounds better and i have the 61, key 37 and live 2. They all sound good 61 just slightly better
Im not being negative but everybody has their opinion dont understand when companies make a new product its gonna be something different to make you buy it both keyboards are nice the key 61 is big boy and 61 key is little brother one has lees ram ,plug ins and the 61 has more (etc) i own the key 61and mpc live 2 the buttons not a big factor to me not gonna keep you from making beats and a sd card not a big deal to me all need is a external usb drive and the you or put ssd card inside or usb zip drive all the same got to understand its something different all about marketing cause some people will buy every time something comes out ,,Just my thoughts brah good vid
My bro, when the battery operated one with a speaker comes out, it’s over 👊🏾
Exactly! Would that happens I'll get rid of my Live.
That’s a marketing tactic to put certain things on one keyboard that’s not on the other to make extra money so you will buy both

I love my mpc key 37 the best instrumental I did for my studio
I got the MPC key 61 I'm going to get the MPC 37 but I don't like how the buttons feel on the MPC key 61 lbvs but i love the keys tho but nice video.
Looking good, fam. Keep up the work. God bless you.
Thanks bro!! 🙏🏾👊🏾
Just got a mpc key61 for my 62nd birthday and I just love it. Only problem is you only get 8 tracks of plugins available. My MODX has 16
The beat in the background slaps so hard💯

I bet they have another product to release that would be a mk2 or a better product that would be a greater price since we all want more in the box

They might not have been able to get the SD parts to stay on schedule to start production on the 61 or something like that.
I bought the 61 the first week it was released along with some Yamaha HS8 studio monitors. The 37 wasn’t released yet. 🤷🏾♂️
With all the plugins it was a good deal
I’m tired of buying Mpcs I own the 1 plus the key 37 and the live 2 I’m done just waiting for stems
They should have gave the 37 2 usb slots Memory card slot ssd hard drive all in one sleek package and just charged $1500 or $2000 with all the extras
Question: Has anyone tested an SD usb card reader with the MPC Key61?
Yeah it works 👊🏾
I run one on mine never disconnects. Problem solved!!!
@@BeatsbyLonza thx sir
Quick question, are the MPC key 37 sides the same size as the MPC key 61?
Yes
@@MarcusElbowThat's crazy. They're the same size. I had a feeling they were.
think 37 got a little shorter keys, not much, but shorter
Would u choose it over the Live 2? I’m on a cross roads. I have an mpk mini so I’m unsure if I should even get it but I do want a sampler.
If you want an all in one MPC with keys then it’s a no brainer bro!
@healthymusic50 get information bro. Can you show a master classic or have a master classic on how you rock the mpc with reason
I have an MPC X. I am looking for a more portable and compact MPC and thinking about MPC Live II or MPC Key 37. What would you recommend?
The live fits in a backpack
I’m considering getting a key 37 over a live 2? What do you think?

37 or Force?

They have to get us ready for an MPC Key 61 XL 😂 or a MPC Key 49 🤔
MPC Key 73 with Fatar keyboard And 16 plugins, 16 GB RAM will be great, ultimatemusic weapon, Akai common.
all I gotta say is all plugins included and more ram. Mpc 61 > 37.
MPC 37 or the Akai Force? Stay Blessed.
