Mike Tomlin is one of the greatest coaches and leaders of men of all time. The people of Pittsburgh need to start appreciating that.

There are always going to be Tomlin haters including a good amount of Steeler fans. Too bad for them because Tomlin will be around for awhile and will end up in the Hall of Fame one day just like Cowher

If Tomlin comes off like that the rest of Hard Knocks it will be fantastic for bringing talent in. Every free agent player will be dying to play for him.

Tomlin has been great for years . People bash him about the playoffs , a lot of those teams didn’t have the personel to even make the playoffs. The defense was terrible with killer Bs era . He’s made more with less for years . I love Mike Tomlin . Don’t forget Bill Cowher had some problems in the playoffs for years too

Tomlin did a podcast episode with some ex-players. I wish I'my remembered which. He spoke for something like an hour. He's, frankly, an amazing human being. If you can find it, I recommend listening to it to five into "who is Tomlin."

Couldn’t agree more. There are legitimate critiques a reasonable person can levy against Tomlin’s performance, most of which involve being slow to adapt to information / technological advantages in other front offices. He’ll never find those kinds of edges. He also has to own the RF/MC era of OCs, which are pretty major unforced errors. But the positive impacts he makes in every other area are massive. His ppl skills are maxed out, and football is a ppl business. All the traditional X/O stuff is clearly a strength. His passion seems to be infectious, he works very hard by all accounts, he’s a good person and he surrounds himself with good people. A 1st ballot HOFer.
I honestly wish he’d run for president. The communication & people skills, coupled with his understanding of big picture priorities would make him a compelling candidate. All the stuff that makes him a dynamic head coach would be similarly useful if he were to run for office. We’re lucky to have him as the PIT HC, but I don’t think it’s a reach to suggest he could have a much larger positive impact on our world, if he so chose.

I think about guys that might be leaving in free agency this year (Najee, Dan Moore, James Daniels, Justin Fields) would compensatory picks play into any of these guys staying/leaving?
