Some videos have depicted fabricated futures, and other deepfakes have played words that have never been spoken. Danielle Citron, a professor at the University of Virginia School of Law, joined CBS News to discuss how AI is changing the political landscape.

I can See how this would happen. About 3/4 of us are gullible as you can get.
Here is a thought: ALL politicians run their ads through an 'authentication clearing house' solely set up to verify the politician said what they said.
(Not a censorship clearing house, just solely an authentication clearing house). And any ad without the clearing house's 'stamp of approval' would be questionable, and any ad that falsely puts the clearing house's stamp of approval on an ad could be guilty of a crime (at a minimum, fraud).

@@charlesbrightman4237I could see this also getting corrupted though. Having only 1 side of politics being the ones who get approval, and those on the other side are constantly told to be uncredited.
@@jordan9604 'Buyer beware'. It would apply to these political ads as well. Humans are easily led astray. Critical thinking skills are certainly needed. One has to ask themselves:
Do I believe whatever it is I believe because it's really true, or is it mostly because what I have been told is really true, which might not be really true?
