    Hi One Two Rider,
    **Thank you so much for your review series 👍**
    It’s fantastic to have a real world review and insight on the XR. Mine has 80k kilometres on the clock and it’s reassuring to see the old girl still has plenty of life left in her yet.
    Thank you for all your work behind the camera with videoing, soundtrack and editing 👍🎥🏍.
    Your efforts are greatly appreciated 😀.

      One Two Rider,
      You’re too kind. Thank you very much 👍. I’m sure to have some questions for you but I’ll wait for your series to finish as you may still cover items that interest me 😀.
      May I ask where did you get the lockable cradle for the navigation? Mine is the earlier bmw cradle that has no security.
      Thank you 👍

      @@OneTwoRider I thought they were O1’s….I have Mich Road 6 on at the moment….no complaints and they slide predictably at the rear on Dynamic Pro when really pushing it, the front is super grippy, but I mainly ride on dynamic and let the DTC do its thing. I have heard very good reports on the Bridgestone 32’s so may give those a go next. It’s nice to have a tyres that you have confidence in. I tend to start rolling on the throttle just before the apex and keep rolling as I exit, the XR is a superb bike for this.

    • @OneTwoRider
      @OneTwoRider  Год назад

      @@Twinpot1962 These Bredgestones sound interesting. Since I have never had any problems with the Metzelers, I didn't dare to replace them with other manufacturer, but my brother has Michelin Road 5 on his XR, and they are super grippy, so 6s have to be even better. I might buy those as well..
      Regarding the XR's ability to ride hard, you are 100% right, it just makes you super confident to rely on its DTC when hard accelerating in corners ;)

    Re headlights: I use Auxito Z1s 25 euro for the pair, amazing light, good beam pattern and since my XR is an older model with no DRL they have been constantly on for the last 15,000 miles and worked flawlessly without error code. I 3D printed some extended caps and they've worked flawlessly, if that's not an option for you, you can buy rubber caps on ebay for a couple bucks.
    All the other bits are bang on,
    I personally had minor issues with my brakes fading and boiling the liquid despite being fairly fresh DOT 4 from Castrol, causing levers to go soft, but I'll replace the fluid with some higher end DOT5.1, apart from that amazing performance. As for the discs, ALL BMW bikes using these discs, even barely used ones will move forwards and backwards (not side to side) on the bobbins, so I've come to the conclusion it's nothing to worry about.
    Another +1 on the MRA Vario screen, 140mph I can have my visor open with the screen in the UP position.
    As far as maintenance goes, I've been very meticulous on the XR but since I live away from home a large portion of the year, sometimes I don't have access to tools to do small jobs and have to wait for a while, same goes for certain types of cleaning. That said I also ride my XR in the winter all year around and despite that looks better than any japanese bike I had. Save for a few of the lower hanging steel bolts going a little fuzzy/surface corroded.

    • @OneTwoRider
      @OneTwoRider  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for this great info, again! I'll definitely take these Auxito lights in consideration when these Philips died.
      Regarding your problem with brakes, try Motul brake fluid DOT 5.1 or DOT 3&4, I have never had any issues with it, and I only replace it annually.
      This channel is slowly achieving its purpose, since more and more real riders and motorcycle enthusiasts are watching my videos and commenting on the topic. Thank you and other subscribers for that! Cheers!

    I have recently noticed the dust seals on the callipers are pushing up next to the pistons making it hard to push them back when cleaning the pistons. Back is still perfectly fine. My bobbins are wearing out with a fair bit of play, 60,000 miles on mine.

    Hi fellow rider, i just found your channel and love the content, i also own a XR 2018 and wanted to ask if you know why there is this jerky feeling of the engine at 3k rpm as its shows in this video at 3:58-4:05, is it because of the emission standards? i also have it and met another guy with this weird behaviour

    • @OneTwoRider
      @OneTwoRider  Год назад

      Thanks, mate! Could you be more specific about the jerkiness of thr engine? It is actually pretty smooth, except the jerky idle (that does not affect engine's work)..

    • @johnvonthrottle2683
      @johnvonthrottle2683 Год назад

      @@OneTwoRider Agree with the butter smooth rev range and the idle, but when you reduce speed hanging behind a car and having arround 3k rpm no matter the gear you are in feels hesitant and rather jerky as it shows in video or its just me paying attention at too many detail :D

    • @OneTwoRider
      @OneTwoRider  Год назад

      @@johnvonthrottle2683 oh, now I get it. That actually only happens if it is in higher gear and one tries to maintain constant speed bellow 3k rpm. And at slow speeds, even in 1st gear it is a kind of jerky. Sometimes I have to use the clutch to even it out.

    • @OneTwoRider
      @OneTwoRider  2 года назад

      @@makosasimakis118 well, of course. Transmission oil lubes much better than a chain lube, but its problem is that it requires often lubing (every 100-200km, and even more often if it's rain), but with the oiler that is not the problem.
