- Even though I don't really care about ladders in my ships, this was one of the most fun ships to build. Now even Bigger and Better!

Dude this is bigger than some fallout 4 settlements, and it flies!
This is very interesting to see. First video ive seen from you. I did something similar when i bought the Taiyo Narwhal but with ladders for better mobility. I called mine "The Disc" with 3 layers with each layer contributing to a separate factor. My first layer going from the top down was a crew quarters, and captains quarters, along with the cargo holds and weapons mounted on top (i prefer the nova galactic modules). Second layer was the battle stations and research areas. the the last layer was simply the docker and a brig. Nowhere nearly as thought out as yours since i just cobbled together a bunch of pieces together but it worked very well and still one of my favorite ships i built.
This thing looks like the Thunder Tank from Thundercats.
That's a beast of a ship you built there.
The porthole from Engineering looking up into the grav drive is an immersive idea. I might integrate that into my own designs. Of course, you'd want a direct view of the grav drive at any time.
Yessss!!! Thank you for posting this
That's really something and no ladders is amazing. The ships I have been building seem to be getting smaller and smaller these days, still have a few big ones but nothing like this :) . Those vanguard weapons are actually bad ass if you use them on a ship to pirate other ships.
Bad ass build! 🎉🎉🎉
If they make the modules functional with activities, this ship will be a game on its own like the Colony Ship Mission.
Awesome class C ship build! One of the best functional and great looking ships that I have seen so far! I wonder why you didn’t mount the docking module on the oposite side (inside) like the landing bay or vice-versa and having both front bumpers on either outer sides for a more symmetrical look?
I considered having the docker on the other side but I really like the entrances as close together as possible. I also considered putting a slim docker on the bottom of the 1x1 so you enter to the exact same spot with either the docker or the landing bay, and replacing the front docker with another bumper. Sometimes it is very hard to decide which option is best.
To each his own. I would of preferred my suggestion, and perhaps your bottom docker idea second best choice.
Wow. A fortress. I like. And to be so kind for your videos and to share and to return the favor to you i offer to you for you if you may like some of these: GoldStar ships like the GoldStar 11 or GoldStar 3 wich are a Legend at least for me and you may take them for yourself and to have then for yourself if you want to. They are free use design after all. To have fun in building and Game. And to make your own day mate as you have made my day and morning with this beauty beast that you made.❤❤ Have fun. THX again
Here's to hoping they make a sequel and you get to keep your ship.
Question: Grand Master Ship Builder if you were to use a different landing bay which has a ladder going up and a slim or other underneath docker module could you still maintain the ladder-less design?
You have this ship built already so you can experiment with it to answer my question. If you can accomplish this challenge then this would be the ideal variation of your build that would prefer to go with.
Thank you very much for your time and effort in answering my question for a variation of your awesome build.
I have tested several variations based on this idea. In all of them the ladder-less design and layout remained unchanged. It should be noted that if you use a bottom docker and a bay where you enter up, wherever you place those there will be a half ladder above them. You don't have to actually use this ladder for anything but it does break up the visual openness of the interior.
I tried a slim docker and an NG-6 bay under the 2x2 engineering which lifted the ship up higher and required the landing gear to be placed under Deimos Hull A's to be at the same level. The Stroud Mid Bracers I was using before don't have bottom attachment points.
I tried the slim docker under the 2x2 engineering and the NG-6 tucked under the Nova Battle Stations which means the ship stays low to the ground, the entrance is hidden, you have to walk under the ship to get in, and you enter on the upper level. It was pretty cool.
I also tried using the Stroud side entrance bay in place of the Taiyo front entrance bay. For that I removed the Infirmary where the current docker enters and moved the 1x1 there with the slim docker under it. I had to move the 3x2 Cargo Hall forward 1 block to close the empty space. This makes the ship slightly smaller but you enter in exactly the same place from either the bay or docker. It also lets me make a symmetrical design with portals and/or bumpers and/or other front decorations. I tried it with the side bay both facing towards the cockpit and away from it. It was funny that when it was facing away the entrance ramp just barely fit on the Landing Pad with Ship Builder at my outpost.
I tried tucking the Taiyo bay backward onto the back of the 2x2 Engineering and that worked as well. Very well hidden entrance.
Anyway, it seems this design maintains it's layout pretty much no matter what I throw at it. Which makes sense since I created it with the idea of giving the builder the fewest places where it even could screw it up.
Hope that helps. This is a very fun design to play with and test things out on.
Oh, it is also possible to use a side docker on the back corner of the 3x2 Cargo hall with any of these variations so that there is no half ladders from bottom dockers inside, but you can still decorate the front however you want.
We need mods that would increase ship capacity in terms of ppl u can take with u
👏👏👏👍
is this the result of modding or is that an regular ingame feature to be able to construct and staff out ships that way ??
I don't use any mods that affect ships and ship building. Just StarUI to make menus easier to use, and a mod to give vendors more money so it is easier to sell expensive loot. Everything related to ships is regular features.
So a city size ship is docked at the port, in the middle of the city?
So maybe I exaggerated a bit, but the cities are small and the ship is very big.
where does the xenomorph slaughter everyone?
And takes 10 seconds to run from side to side
But Honeybadges are small!
Good point. The name is what version 1 of the ship looked like to me and I guess I never questioned it as the ship got bigger and bigger.
@@EvanMFitzGerald Hahaha, hey it shows natural progression!
