Having a garden I really enjoy in summer, I have found an activity that really helps me through the winter: In late November I sow some strong chilies that need a longer growing season than we have here in Denmark. As soon as they germinate they need a lot of light, so I have a bright grow light on a timer giving them light 18 hours each day, and darkness for 6 hours while I sleep. The extra cost of electricity is worth the enjoyment I get from this.
I enjoy caring for my chili plants during winter, as it makes me think about summer when they are going out into my garden. And it is so satisfying for me to see something grow and thrive. Often I go to sit in the room where I have the plants even if they need no care just to enjoy the bright light and the plants. Doing this always improves my mood and gives me a nice good feeling.
This started out small with a 60 watt grow light and only 3 plants. But I enjoyed it so much that I now have a 400 watt grow light and 22 nice and healthy plants. It produces a lot more chilies than I can use myself, so family, friends and neighbors get the rest. Last season I had more than I could give to them, so I approached the chef of a local restaurant I frequent and he was happy to accept my excess produce. Since then I have noticed the meals served to me at the restaurant being even better, and the chef asked me when I can deliver more. I had to tell him not until late June or early July.

Skiing under clothing is very good against the cold and Windy weather.
About floor heating, remember that it some times have limited amount of heat it can add to the room that may have large heat loss like old buildings

Yep but normally the floor heating comes in hand with good insulation

About X-mas in Scandinavia for non-Christians. We celebrated 'Yule' up here long before we become Christians and we will (and are doing so) after we abandoned that faith. Feel free to change how and what you celebrated if you need (after all the Christians did that) but two things stay the same the name and that it is celebrated in midwinter.

A fellow South American lost in Copenhagen here. Do you have any brand/type of rain pants you'd suggest? Thanks for the cool video.

While 'hygge' is good, 'uhygge' is not just the absence of hygge, it's directly scary.

Danish winters suck, that’s why I spend my winters in Arizona. 🇺🇸
