This episode had me howling by how many times you had a clip talking positively about a book and then immediately in the next clip "I'm DNF-ing this" 🤣
🎁 I admire your dedication to wrapping all the books. I think you need to at least do a 2nd episode of wrapped books because you went to all the effort. It would be a shame to just unwrap them all.
@@CoverswithCassidy next time you do something like this, you could use newspaper or something:) then you wouldn't waste wrapping paper, would be better for the environment too!
10/10 would buy Nick’s Picasso fish masterpiece 🍷 I know you went through it with the blind picking but I agree that the push really made some of these choices clearer! Might need to try this for my TBR too.
I think for your February episode, you can do a TBR Tinder-inspired episode (something like the TBR game Kara’s Bookshelf does) in honor of Valentine’s Day!
Everything you said about Dance with the Fae Prince has me quite intrigued 👀, especially since I am very much enjoying my time with the Loom Saga by the same author. Plus, you dnf-ing it bodes well for me, since we have such opposite tastes 😄 Also, as someone who is currently reading the third book in the Sevenwaters series by Juliet Marillier (so, Daughter of the Forest, Son of Shadows), it's definitely _not_ a series of standalones - just an fyi 😉
I’m so excited to hear you loved duel with the vampire lord! That’s the first one I got from the married to magic series and now I’m even more excited to get to reading it! Have you read the new Werwolf one? Im interested in that one too. I’m not a fan of the “you can’t look at your husband” trope. Is it a trope? I think it originated in Greek mythology with Eros and Psyche? Anyway, this was a fun video!
@CoverswithCassidy I did a book blind date in a bookshop. I didn't like it as the book was boring. But to do your own could be fun as they are my chosen TBR already. But yeah stress as in must-read from that day 🧐
I binged the Blood and Steel series back to back and haven’t read Slaying the Shadow Prince. It’s possible there were things I would have understood better but I can’t know for sure. But as it was, it didn’t stop me from understanding and enjoying the series. There’s obviously spoilers if you read the series straight through without the standalone but I knew that going in and accepted it.
This is fair. I am normally not someone who says something feels necessary. Like I read without reading "novellas" or @standalones" often but honestly book four would have been a two star for me without the standalone. So I personally found it very important. I just think you miss way too much information that you don't even know you don't have. Like it feeels necessary to me or else the story isn't completed. But I also am someone who likes to have all my information so the rebellion and talemir just felt one dimensional without it
@@CoverswithCassidyI use to be firmly in the camp of needing to read everything in an exact order. Even series of standalone novels. I’m to the point now that I’m not picking something up that doesn’t speak to me. I’m a degree of unhinged when it comes to novellas that are central to the story. The way I see it, either it wasn’t important enough to include it in the actual book or it’s so important, it should have been in the book. If it’s the latter then best believe I’m hate reading it.
Hi! I'm confused. Of Thieves and Shadows by B.S.H. Garcia is the first book In a series and it is her first book. It is not related to Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier. And Of Thieves and Shadows is amazing! There are two prelude novellas called From the Ashes and From the Depths. I hope you try it! I loved it and I just got the 2nd novel that just came out last month.
I really want to watch the Wayward Pines show because I loved the books but I’m scared I won’t like it. Now that you’ve read the first 2 books how do you think the show did? Also I love your videos 😊🎁
I am bring a bad girl and enjoying you DNFing Tge Dance with a Fea Prince with a twirl around my room. I didn't enjoy it either. BUT I skimmed the hell of it. Bad ending. I never care much about who writes a book. Not even if I like it. But this fellt like 17years old me wrote a fairy tale book with wish fullfilment for the 17 old myself. I am sooo glad that I was reading Count of Monte Cristo back in those years. Romantasy would have made me 🤔.... The Book 4 with Siren Duke is good probably because the woman is 24 and has goals for herself
Unwrapping is so fun! 🎁 I love the cat tree sweatshirt! 🐈 Sephora!!! 😍 Lol - you held up the bag & said "you needed to stock up on"...and then it rolled into a commercial for toilet paper! 😂😂😂 Vicious DNF, but understandable. 🫂 I had to DNF City of Stairs. 😬 I'm a control freak all the way but sometimes chaos is fun, lol! 🤪 The kitties broke your ringlight??? 🫢 Miley in the bathtub. 😂 🐾 🦌 🦌 💖 Tell Nick to quit harassing you - I live for the makeup stuff too, lol! Nick unwrapping 😂 Other than Along the Razors Edge, I sadly find Rob J. Hayes very dry. 💔 You're killing these vlogs! 😃 🎁
Also for me part of this fun if a wrapped book is trying to guess. I would just do a random number generator if I wanted it to be completely random. But I like having some control as I'm a mood reader
@@TruePerception oh hahaha yeah i technically have read 60% of that tho. I did read non romantasy in this but to be fair I don't think you'll see much of that in my future anyways. I'm just not into the slower stories these fays
Oh but I love the unhinged and unpredictable vibes of this episode, sooo ruthless hehehe 🤌🤌 Girl, can't blame you for A Shade of Madness, it's been sooooo long and I feel like your tastes have really changed so better to just not force yourself lol. Also, I love how you started out so optimistic each time only to cut to a brutal "I am DNFing this" hahahah
The thing is I just never talked about it but I read 60% of the book when it came out and think it would have been a 2 star 😂 so it really was a dnf then I was just scared to say it at the time now I'm not

Truly just no time to waste on three star reads

It's a lot of hardwork
The books themselves are needed for all my end of year content so have already been unwrapped

It's a good idea
Oooh I'll have to look into this
Thank you for the nearly 1 hour of your struggle to find something you like. Fantastic finish to my birthday.
Happy birthday !!!
An Ember in the Ashes is peak YA fantasy. Seriously the best of the best.
It is one of my favs
Loved Nick's participation in this vlog 🤣
Haha I'll have to get him to participate more
it should be illegal that you spend so much money at sephora and all you get is a tiny bag. haha. I've been loving the Rare Beauty brand recently.
No seriously it should. Rare beauty truly does have a lot of incredible items
This was such a fun episode! I really loved the wrapped books. How about have friends and family members pick all your books?

If you want to keep the books wrapped, you could number them and use a online spinner wheel.
They are already unwrapped as I needed them for videos in the future
The way you described the dance with the fae king reminded me a bit of the polar bear king movie from 1991.
Honestly, I find it incredibly satisfying to DNF. Too much stuff to read! 🎁
I agree
this was such a fun episode! i'm glad you had some wins and made some progress! 🎁
Me too!!
You are killing it with series clean up! I need to get on this level lol
It feeels so gooooood
Definitely agree about the different types of 3-star reads! 🎁
Glad I'm not alone
This is my motivation to read some series!!
Also, you definitely started at way more than 55 right?! Haha I need a recap reminder!
The first episode started at 77 !
@CoverswithCassidy 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This series always makes me want to be ruthless and dnf so many series😅🎁
I swear by those Summer Fridays lip glosses. I have way too many 😂
They are so good
39:33 So lovely!😍 I love this series🥰🎁💝
The brutal way you threw the book with your review in it in the DNF pile 🤣🤣🤣 That was hilarious.
Hahahaha oooooops
nick definitely needs to open up a wine glass painting shop 🎁
rightttttttttt
Now I need to put Blood and Steel on my unofficial December TBR!
I’m so excited to hear you loved duel with the vampire lord! That’s the first one I got from the married to magic series and now I’m even more excited to get to reading it! I have not read the werewolf one yet!
Seeing you unwrap A Shade of Madness had me cackling. Also I’ve finished My Sims Kingdom and am now onto My Sims 😂
Omg your are flying although I am almost don't my sims so I can't say anything 😂
Nick needs to sell vinyls stickers of his drawings if he does not want to paint wine glasses to sell.
I agreeeee
The book part was fun. Maybe I need to try wrapping mine book TBRs.
It was stressful but a lot of fun

i love this series SO much!!
I'm so glad!
It was fun watching your dilemma over figuring out which books to unwrap 😈 As for suggestions, I did like the idea of a scavenger hunt
It was hard to choose hahahha
I need to play catch up with so many series!
It's so hard to stay up to date
Loving the reviews but loving the My Sims call out even more what do you MEAN they re-released it!!??
RIGHT THEY RERELEASED MY SIMS AND MY SIMS KINGDOM on the Nintendo switch. So it's now playable! ITS AMAZING
How are you finding mysims on switch as a port? Those games are literally the only reason I still have my Wii 😅
It just got rerelease for the switcg

Of course

It was from SPFBO last year I believe.
Hi that was a stand in book, there was a sticky note on it with the title of the one that's a sequel. That's why I pop the book cover on the screen
@@CoverswithCassidy I must have missed the other cover!
I didn't realize we lived in the same city!! Been stalking that south side Chick Fil A too haha
HAHAHAH it's always funny when that happens!!!

It's both stressful and fun to see 😂
@@CoverswithCassidy Quick check is 37, but I am 100% sure there are way more. One I have been thinking of is the Doon series.
Girl I heard you when your like I don’t remember the first book. Me with every series
It happens 😂
love the wrapped surprise picks!! i had a spicy chicken sandwich this weekend from a restaurant-ey restaurant and it was so blandly disappointing! :(
Nooooo when they are disappointing it always hurts cause you know they can be so good
Oh god I am nervous for shadow and storms 😂
Nooo but fair 😂
Hahahahaha good luck
I love my sims

🎁
If you don’t do a second video of unwrapping them. You should unwrap them and decide if you want to continue on with the series at that time.
Haha I need the pressure of the video to commit.
❤ 📚 ❤
Thanks for watching
🎁 I enjoyed your video
Glad you enjoyed it
I think you should have chosen the books more randomly instead of trying to guess what they were but I did enjoy the video nevertheless
Fair but I literally had no idea and was wrong every time😂 so I don't think they can get more randomly 😂
Also for me part of this fun if a wrapped book is trying to guess. I would just do a random number generator if I wanted it to be completely random. But I like having some control as I'm a mood reader
I forgot other countries call it a chicken burger, though I thought that was mostly the UK/EU.
Canada has a lot of uk tendencies. But I think we switch ive heard both I myself call it both just depends
Audible is having a sale right now
In Canada?
@ I’m not I would just check
I think it might be a holiday sale, but I’m not sure
🎁
Thanks for watching
I got scared when she said chicken burger and not chicken sandwich
Canadian vs American
It's on a burger bun makes it a burger 😂
The first non-Romance fantasy in the bunch and you skip it?
The one I used a veto on? It was still romantasy
@CoverswithCassidy No, the one you DNF'd without reading: Shades of Madness.
Well, without reading in this vlog.
