My elderly father said the dealer said they'd replace the batteries on the keys for $120 each because they need to program them. I told him they were crooks, and we watched this, and tried one, it worked perfectly, and then did the other. Thanks!
@@Daniel-it1dp Try holding the fob to the ignition button for a minute. I've had mine disconnect and that's how the dealership connected my key and car that way
Thank you so much! This was super helpful! I got batteries at harbor freight for under $3 for 4 and a set of 16 precision screwdrivers for $3.99. Definitely saved time and money. Side note I didn't even know that key was there and have had the car for over a year lol 😆
Thank you for taking time to create and post this. I just did this battery swap at work. My remote was completely dead. The seams to pop it open are so small, your video helped tremendously.

Thank you. Replaced the battery and the key fob appears to be fine with the blinking light and everything. The problem is the car is just dead. Nothing comes on. I can't even open or lock the door with the key fob. Awesome video though!
@@PYR-Auto it was. Just got it back from Nissan. Funny enough this happened before in September and they replaced the battery with what they called a special gel battery. They claimed that's the only battery the cat can use. September to December the battery was dead. Let's see how long this one lasts
If it’s Energizer or Duracell. Probably 2 or 3 years. If it’s a cheapo dollar tree Panasonic 1 to 1 and a half year. Also varies based on how often it’s used
Would you be able to tell me the dimensions of the spring of the fob? I legit dropped mine and cannot find it. And I definitely don't want to pay over $200 to replace the entire fob
Thanks for the video, I replaced the battery but put the wrong side in first then changed it to the proper side down but after trying the FOB it no longer works. I went back and used the previous battery that was pretty low but it still doesn't work. I can still touch the FOB to the start button to start the Rogue. Do I need to go to the dealer to fix this?
You would have to take the back half of the shell apart further than what I did in the video to even get to that point, but if you still have the spring and the button, you should be able to put it back together

My fob won’t work with new battery so there has got to be more to it in some cases
@@Daniel-it1dp Same. I am lucky my dad has another key fob. I probably mishandled the heck outta the original key fob.

So easy to do when someone shows you how! Thanks.

ok, I change the battery, now it says "Key ID Incorrect". very helpful video. I also make sure that the battery was replaced correctly.
That's what happened to me too. How'd you resolve it?
That happened to me also, it says that key is incorrect so now what do I do?

How do you reset the “key battery low” notification on dashboard once batter has been replaced?
ya, I have the same problem.
The “key battery low” notification is still on the dash after the battery was replaced.
Merci beaucoup ! C'est très bien expliqué ! :)
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! That was so simple much love to ya! ❤❤❤

Thanks for the great video. If you happen to know, how often does the battery generally need replacing?
You're Welcome! It really varies but on this style smart key I would say maybe 1-2 years

1 to 1 and a half year.

My fob doesn’t want to respond after changing the batteries. Tried a few different ones, I may have damaged the circuitry

Bent a contact, all is good thanks
Glad you got it figured out! As you discovered, putting the battery in upside doesn't cause any harm

Great Video, but in changing the battery, the little spring popped out of the release plate! Yikes! Any ideas how to replace?
