Every once in a while, I wish I was born like 20 years earlier. I'm 31 years old and feel so detached from the modern world. This feeling must be even worse for Gen Z kids. Things used to be so simple. How did we end up in such a bizarre timeline?

What’s happening is supposed to happen. Yes, we should work towards restoring sanity. Both biblical accounts and histories of once great civilizations that have fallen point to what’s happening. It’s about to get worse. We will probably tell our future grandchildren stories of what it was like to once live in a great country.

I always felt the first affront was Alcohol. Walt was really big on keeping drinking out of the parks, now you can buy a beer on nearly every corner. No surprise the parks have more fights, vandalism etc when you not only allow drinking you actively promote it.

I grew up an hour south of Disneyland. My parents took us during the 60’s and on. I then had my own kids and we went up to around 2010. It was Magical and a big part of our lives. Haven’t been since.

To change "Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls" showed the complete idiocy of corporate disney. The parks are no longer dreams, they're becoming nightmares. Iger and current corporate disney hates Walt and Roy. They've shown it, only the pixie dusters deny it. They tried to take Walt's name out of WALT Disney World, then wouldn't play his speech at DL anniversary day, then didn't have him included into WDW 50th celebration, just to name a few. Only when the backlash became a news story did they backtrack on those. These are all reasons to never ever go to Disney World again. My wife and I started going to Disney World in the 1970's, we started taking our girls in the 1980's, we started taking our granddaughter in 2008, and our last trip was in 2017. I am extremely glad that they got to see and experience Disney World the way it used to be, a fun magical place to visit so they could create memories to last a lifetime.

So I’m gonna try to engage with this in good faith: The changes to pirates and jungle cruise have been well received by most guests. Red is a popular walk around character now. The jungle cruise changes don’t alter anything about the ride or its charm. Tiana will likely still be a very culturally southern, log flume ride with animatronic singing animals. I think we often forget there were things the were becoming controversial in the 1980’s as well that resulted in rethemes and reflections on guest sensibilities. I agree with you on the park announcements not mentioning boys and girls anymore. That part is stupid
You couldn't be more wrong. The changes to Pirates and Jungle cruise have been unanimously hated and there is also no Tiana coming. Splash Mountain is not closed and will be at WDW for its 75th in 2046 and at Disneyland for its centennial in 2055. Both Pirates and Jungle Cruise will have been restored then. Or they will be after I take over Disney and usher in the Make Disney Great Again era.

I grew up an hour south of Disneyland. My parents took us during the 60’s and on. I then had my own kids and we went up to around 2010. It was Magical and a big part of our lives. Haven’t been since.
Ironically, corporate disney, made all these changes without ANYBODY outside of their bubble clamoring for them. Yes, Country Bears needed "plussing", NOT "wokifying". We went once after Pirates was changed and more than one on the boat were all saying "We wants the Redhead" when we went by the changed scene. Splash mtn was NEVER racist nor "problematic" except to Iger and his ilk. It was one of the most popular rides in the world. So much so that when Tokyo was being built OLC demanded that they had it. To change "Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls" showed the complete idiocy of corporate disney. The parks are no longer dreams, they're becoming nightmares. Iger and current corporate disney hates Walt and Roy. They've shown it, only the pixie dusters deny it. They tried to take Walt's name out of WALT Disney World, then wouldn't play his speech at DL anniversary day, then didn't have him included into WDW 50th celebration, just to name a few. Only when the backlash became a news story did they backtrack on those. But thanks to people leaking the video, we know that management has a "not-so-secret" agenda to put into every product that they do, in the media and parks. As long as the brain dead pixie dusters keep going to corporate disney parks and cruises, this will continue down this dark path.
Okay, calling somebody brain-dead, even a pixie duster like me, is just downright INSULTING. I may be a pixie duster, however, I'm not blind about everything that's currently going on at Disney. The funny thing is while the politics is annoying and most the ride changes are just downgrades. The biggest issue is Disney has spent the last decade changing rides for political correctness. Mean while very few new rides came out, those that did took longer to build and many rides are suffering from lack of maintenance. Basically Disney spent all it's ride budget on removing "wrong think" from rides.

These are all reasons to never ever go to Disney World again. My wife and I started going to Disney World in the 1970's, we started taking our girls in the 1980's, we started taking our granddaughter in 2008, and our last trip was in 2017. I am extremely glad that they got to see and experience Disney World the way it used to be, a fun magical place to visit so they could create memories to last a lifetime.
The same things that happen, when ever a corporation takes over from a great man that created the company. They are concerned only with profits and politics, and the customer is extorted to the greatest extent possible.
McDonald’s used to be In-N-Out Burger. Now it’s a very different company and we have In-N-Out Burger. Disney is not what it used to be and when we replaced with something else.

The changes to pirates and jungle cruise have been well received by most guests. Red is a popular walk around character now. The jungle cruise changes don’t alter anything about the ride or its charm. Tiana will likely still be a very culturally southern, log flume ride with animatronic singing animals.
I think we often forget there were things the were becoming controversial in the 1980’s as well that resulted in rethemes and reflections on guest sensibilities.

You couldn't be more wrong. The changes to Pirates and Jungle cruise have been unanimously hated and there is also no Tiana coming. Splash Mountain is not closed and will be at WDW for its 75th in 2046 and at Disneyland for its centennial in 2055. Both Pirates and Jungle Cruise will have been restored then. Or they will be after I take over Disney and usher in the Make Disney Great Again era.

That is $1,070.00 for one day. With that kind of money,they can take a cruise for 3 days,for $1,120.00,and most food,entertainment,and fun things to do,for $120.00 more. I’m glad I went to Disney back when it was normal. Good rides, great attractions (including Captain EO), no agendas, and better prices. Time Machines don’t exist, and that sucks. But I’m not spending $4,000 for THAT experience. We black people didn’t ask for Tiana… Splash Mountain was fine and didn’t offend anyone.
