For Sigils, keep in mind that proc on "swap to this weapon" effects will go off whenever you swap attunements with elementalists. Depending on your build, this may be more consistent than proc on crit sigils!
Nah, still full cele most of the time, tho I have a set of grieving on one of the gear tabs on my self insert ele. I've been rockin the 20% duration to bleeding and burning sigils. Same signet focus fire/earth/cata build we've been running since before Soto dropped
Just wanted to say thanks for the videos...found you while searching for decent GW2 content, really appreciate the detail and descriptions. Keep up the good work and content. Thanks again from another caffeinated dad and Ele main. 🤓
I've been doing celestial weaver and its just a walk in the park for open world. 25 stacks of might uptime and good uptime on regen and protection makes it feel like you are hitting hard but also have the durability to stay in melee range.
Weaver is beefy as well when compared to the cata, the cata however tends to do overall better because it's strengths are passive versus a weaver who does better when in combat!
actually made my 2nd ele recently and been playing as core fire, earth, arcane with scepter and dagger for a bit of CC and this has a lot of damage + survi O_O quite impressed tbh :)
I really like the new sword/dagger variant for catalyst but i use it with fire/arcane and switch to earth for tough encounters if needed. Also dagger/dagger will always give me joy cause you know, jump jump smash is fun! Good vid!
Ooo faster recharges and more boons very nice! I'd like to test a bit more to have a firmer idea of what I would think I like the absolute best but personally the Stagg has been great fun!
I've been testing out several builds that uses sword and warhorn on catalyst, which is a bit funny given that I'm using two weapons that come from the elementalist's two other elite specializations, while running their third elite specialization. It feels really nice, although I still find sword a bit weird on elementalist due to being stuck in melee. I still find Catalyst to be the weirdest name to give an elite specialization. Every time I see someone refer to the Catalyst, my first reaction is to think maybe they are talking about the focus weapon type or perhaps something to do with crafting XD.
I have a Catalyst I never touch just sitting around, I should do this build, I might enjoy it more. What is the best way to get decent gear/armor these days? Still bladed? Or is there a better option now? I guess there might be some sort of Desert armor with grieving somewhere.
The grieving collection is extremely tedious because you have to do all the dead desert map metas and once you unlock the merchant the grieving stuff is mad expensive
An option: It's not long until the Halloween festival. During Halloween, you can use Corn Cobs to buy Lunatic Armor recipes that will craft stat selectable exotic armor. I love this option as an effective way to get into an armor set quickly without breaking the bank while I test drive classes and builds. Really, REALLY nice when you are wanting to make a build that might dip into different stat sets because you don't need to keep multiple recipes straight: it's always the same mats to make any armor stat set.
Bladed is a good one Or just check the wiki for best options Look for viper‘s and you will find everything If you want a good open world build go for full celestial stats They are perfect for every content except possibly raids/cm strikes/ cm fractals For everything else celestial can carry you all the way and truth be told ele is the one class which perfectly synergies with celestial stats Especially if you have a build that provides boons Only exception in the boon department is weaver but if you choose the arcane stat line you will give enough boons out to profit from celestial stats too Plus you are not squishy anymore which is perfect for ele
Easily. This game is overwhelming on the surface. Very easy to understand once you get going. It behooves one to look up guides like this one of course - starting at level 1 and just playing will quickly help you understand how it works. Doing quests is a matter of exploration. Zones are split by level brackets. Starting zones are 1-15. You can port to all starting zones at level 1. Take your time and enjoy all of it. 😊
i finally unlocked Cata the other day, but not sure I'll end up switching from Weaver. Weaver feels the most Ele to me. lots of condi, lots of interacting with the class, combos, etc. Tempest is fun with the Overloads, but enjoying Weaver makes everything else seem boring.
Ohhh man, I'm gonna try it out. I'm pretty new with Elementalist, I tried hammer catalyst, sword dagger weaver, but I'm sad for the lack of survability, I think a ranged build would make the trick! Thank you, will give anooother chance.
I haven't tested it out yet in the PvP lobby, but I'm leveling my Ele with a hammer right now. I know that Fire Mage is all the rage, but I'm playing with an Air/Lightning for far away damage and Fire for up close and personal combat. I'm trying to do sort of a Thor flavor build (the character is a Norn...so sort of RP). I'm hoping Catalyst improves him when I am able to use it. The build isn't meta, but it's been fun to play so far.
Thats the beautiful part of this game! You don't have to be optimal! Play the way you think it is fun! Honesy I made a YT short on a lightning wizard build that you maybe interested in
So I tried the core version of this build (cause the idea of having someone take the heat for me is great xD ) and I must say. It is a blast! (pun intended) I literally cant die even though I am extremely bad at the game xD Thanks for it. I finally have motivation to start playing my fav char again! (Although I changed the build a bit)
Fire Tempest. 111, 212, 311 You can pick one of two healing skills, signet of earth, glyph of elemental, lesser glyph of elemental and last utility is flex. Afthershock! is great or fire sig et or flash freeesh or eye of the dtorm or feel the burn. You can swap elite to rebound or take Glyph off Renewal if you play in open world with friends 😂 also we ruk Specter/Horn and camp fire only so 100% burning. We will be givin ton of might so the damqge +4 other will be great. Works in raids but avoid toughness and somenother tweaks and mihht get you kicked (twice)
I have roooted out my elementalist this week and started to play it again with the cata spec and come to the conclussion I am still bad with elementalist but i still prefer sword/dagger with it either as an weaver or the catalyst.
Thank you for this video! Helped me to try to better with my elementalist, I´m new to game but this profession grab my eyes and fingers to play! What would you change to play this build in WvW?, I don´t know but I´m wondering if the elementals are doing good in pvp. Any thoughts about that?
Not sure if this is a good place to ask. But seeing as how this is a nice community I figured I'd try. I'm attempting to lvl a scepter/pistol Mesmer for fun. Anyone got any gearing/build tips. Love the vids btw thanks for any help in advance
Scepter pistol mesmer leans heavy into the condition damage (basically damage over time effects) it also brings good crowd control. I'd say focus on items that improve condition damage as well as letting your clones get to 3 stacks when yku need them to tank! Enemies will attack them fjrst!
Hey i am new to GW2. Currently 35 level ranger. Because of some personal reasons i can not able to buy expansions and because of that i cant get mounts. When i reach level 10 game gave me free raptor mount but its expired now and wiki says i need to buy expansions. Is there any solution for this? Moving without mount seem too slow for me. What do you recommend?
I know this is a pretty late response. Mounts came in the 2nd expansion, so everything in the base maps, and Heart of Thorns is designed to be completed without them. You used to have to actually enter and get the mount in the expansion story. Moving the raptor unlock to level 10 for those who owned the expansion, and the 10 hour rental for those who don't is a still relatively recent change. There's a few things that can be done to help alleviate, but not fix this. As a ranger you have a lot of sources of Swiftness, which is a movement speed buff. Warhorn 5 alone will give you 50% uptime of the buff. Prioritize unlocking way points as you explore the map, the more way points you have, the more likely you can teleport closer to your objective. Now in theory, there is a system to convert gold you have earned in game, to gems for the store. However, this can't be done by free trial accounts and while Living World Seasons can be bought for gems, the expansions themselves can not. I did a full 100% core Tyria map completion without mounts. It's slower for sure, but I still managed to enjoy my time doing so.
@@mcjigg So i cant exchange gold to gem? I thought farming gold and buying QoL things(like unlimited gathering tool). One more question Can i use my local currency on GW2 site? On steam i can buy GW2 full set %50 cheaper.
@@hikarinokishi4622 You can't exchange gold to gems if you are a free player, this is a restriction that needs to be in place because of bots. That's my type of ele. More passive stuff and less buttons to press xD
This game still worth playing in 2024? Would it actually be possible to 'catch up' if so?
I dont have any friends to play with so im a solo aswell :/

Hey Caffeinated, love your videos. Confused on the the core build. How are you using Relic of the Fractal in open world?
Relic of the fractal is available via I believe research notes in Skywatch archipelago!

The special Wizards hat from the pre order of secrets of the obscure
