2011: Sting doesn't trust WWE based on how bad WCW wrestlers were treated 2015: Sting comes to WWE and gets treated like crap and jobs to Triple H at Mania... Guess he wasnt wrong
Not necessarily, if he had taken this deal at this time, he could've had that WM match with Undertaker AND avoided that mess that was the main event of Victory Road 2011.
I think the Triple H/Sting match was great, but I hate that they broke kayfabe and that STING was the one to extend his hand. Then he got retired by Seth Freakin' Rollins.
Kaylee Black that wasn't Seth's fault, if he did the same thing to Hulk or Oldberg today and they landed wrong and got hurt its on them. Sting has stated it was him not Seth
@Lakers fan it was the main event of 20 21 but john being the WWE champ did underrate whc. But Batista edge undertaker were great champions it was del Rio, swagger etc. who killed it
Glad everyone's enjoying the series. If you haven't read my original articles for WhatCulture, but are watching the video series, I hope you're having fun with them. They were a blast to put together for the site.
Still have a lot of nostalgia for this one, despite it not being so great in hindsight. This was the first wrestle mania season since I started watching wrestling
When I heard that The Miz suffered a concussion during his match, I instantly started respecting him a little bit more for finishing the damn thing. I was a fan (one of the few) already but that basically proved to me he means business.
It's 4am here. We'll get 28 tonight. 29 around this time tomorrow(Friday) morning. 30 on Friday night. 31 around this time on Saturday morning. 32 on Saturday night. All done and dusted before WM Sunday. Timing.
My friend and I were 15 and lived Atlanta. We saved up all year so we could get good seats and FINALLY go to a Wrestlemania. When we found out Miz vs Cena was gonna be the title match we almost cried.
I remember going to this Mania in my hometown back when I was 11. Looking back, honestly worth it. Ended up being in attendance to witness Edge's final match, Triple H and Undertaker had an instant classic, it's always great when the Rock and Stone Cold are in the building, and the Cody Rhodes vs Rey Mysterio and CM Punk vs Randy Orton matches weren't too bad. Looking back it honestly sucked but was definitely worth it. Huge childhood memory for me.
kari jackson Exactly. Bur I always had this conspiracy theory that Atlanta received a sucky Mania card because it was the home of Vince Mcmahon's biggest rival promotion, WCW, and for all his troubles in the 90s he punished the city for it 😂
I was there too and maybe because I'm 10 years older but we hated the show. A lot of people in my section walked out during the main event and no one seemed to be paying attention during the Rhodes and Rey match. The highlight for me was meeting punk that Friday before at a rest stop
Good god I remember being at this Wrestlemania. It was trash except for HHH and Taker. All I wanted to see at the show was Bryan's first proper 'Mania match and they took that away from us. No title changes either. I remember leaving the arena and the crowd was all silent as they walked to the parking lot. Severely underwhelming.
Now looking back it might be bad, but i must say that up until 33, wrestlemania 27 was the last time i was absolutely uber excited and couldn't wait for wrestlemania to come. I felt the build and everything to it was amazing. perks of me being 14 at the time i guess.
Orton vs. Punk was the best match of the night, followed by Rhodes vs. Mysterio . Triple H and Undertaker were just breathing heavy during their whole match.
Can't wait till they do WM 28, cause that has what I think is my fav match of all time; Undertaker vs HHH w/ Shaun Michaels in the Hell in a Cell match. Great action, great story telling, amazing finish. Just amazing
Having this Undertaker match before others still isn't as bad as when they had him lose to Lesnar. They had that happen and then a divas match DIRECTLY after. I felt really bad for them because the crowd was silent that whole match still trying to figure wtf just happened.
#11: Technically WrestleMania XXVII didn't have Edge's last match. 2 days after the crapfest Edge took part in a 10 man tag team match during the Smackdown dark match main event. It saw Edge team up with Christian (first time in years that I know of), Triple H, Big Show and Rey Mystersio when they defeated Alberto Del Rio and The Corre (Barrett, Slater, Jackson and Gabriel). Though Edge didn't actually do any actual wrestling but he was a participant. Bonus fact: This took place at then Time Warner Cable Arena (now known as Spectrum Center) in Charlotte, NC. What makes a fact is a few years prior Chris Benoit wrestled his final match in the same arena less then a week before the incident. Also a few years later Beth Phoenix would wrestle her last match ever (same arena) before she retired
A Fascinating WM 27 Fact: Wade Barrett vs The Undertaker in a Buried Alive Streak vs Nexus Match was originally signed in October (with what happened at Bragging Rights) and not only that - but Wade Barrett was consider to become the ender of the streak.
Alex Wright as Berlyn in WCW did a variation of a stunner that was called 'The Cold Shoulder' this was back when he was first introduced as the character before it was pulled for a couple of months due to concern that it mocked Columbine. Around the time of the Louie Therioux Pro Wrestling show where he was interviewed back stage broke Kayfabe and on his return got potatoes from Hacksaw and a black eye from Jerry Only of the Misfits (working with Vampiro at the time) who was being egged on by Buff Bagwell.
This Mania was bitter sweet almost like this years Rumble for me. For both I was hoping a much rumored talent that was not under contract with WWE to appear. I was hoping for a Kenny Omega Rumble debut this year, and back during this particular Mania I was hoping that Sting was gonna be there. Really thats on me for hanging my hopes of a whole event on something that may or may not happen. But 2011 was the year for Sting and Taker to happen. Everything was in line for this, but Sting just didn't make the jump. I remember thinking if it doesn't happen now, then it will never go down. That has exactly been the case.
This was my first Wrestlemania and the first wrestling event that I ever watched that got me into wrestling. I still can't believe that a show this bad was what started it all for me.
So Dean Malenko is the reason why Sheamus and Bryan were on the preshow. I don't like Bryan as a wrestler (he's a much better GM) but him and Sheamus deserved to be on the main show. Also, Sheamus vs Rey would've been pretty cool actually.
IMO the real wrestle mania for that year in 2011 took place a few months later at money in the bank when CM Punk (fresh off his pipe bomb) faced john cena. Great story line, amazing fan reaction and even a 5 star match. That's what I wish WM 27 would of had!!!
Man in hindsight, Sting should've probably taken that deal the first time round. Fans could've gotten that Undertaker dream match plus he would've gotten a lengthier run out of it. Instead we got an unnecessarily overbooked match with Triple H and a match with Seth Rollins that's it.
From WM 25 to 29 Taker should have main evented considering his status & opponents: Michaels, Hunter, & Punk. Each match with Taker at WMs: 25, 26, 27, 28, & 29 were all magnificent and each was match of the night.
In watching Mania 31 again earlier. My guess for one of the facts for 31 is that during rehearsal for their match, Rollins and Orton didn't get the Kerb Stomp/RKO finishing spot right once.
Don't know why Morrison received heat for that. I mean , his gf didn't receive a paycheck because of Trish and suddenly everyone in the back hated him for not hugging her? Wth
Unless my memory is failing me, I think I recall that the 'Taker/Lesnar moments were more based around a desire for Undertaker challenging him to a MMA match. Around the time this was happening, Taker even started wearing those ridiculous looking gloves that are used in MMA. I guess you could claim that this was all part of an attempt to get them into the ring at Wrestlemania, but I don't buy it. I do remember Dana White saying letting Lesnar do something else would not be allowed, but I think this was after it was clear that a MMA match with them was not going to happen. Also, in no way am I defending Snookie being on the show, or anything having anything to do with her (outside what I'm about to say), but I admit that at the time it happened, and even still, I was surprised that she was able to pull off her back handspring in the match.
2011: Edge retires after his neck injury 2020: Hey remember when Daniel Bryan came back from a neck injury despite retiring? Let's do that with Edge now!
This was the first WrestleMania I ever saw. Looking back on it, Triple H V. Undertaker was the only really good match on the card. John Cena vs. The Miz wasn't bad, only to be ruined by the Rock, and neither was Edge vs. Alberto Del Rio, but the rest were just forgettable or plain bad.
It's funny because a few short weeks after, WWE would go on to have its best run since the Attitude era. From the start of Summer of Punk, Christian's "one more match" The rise of Zach Ryder, Mark Henry's hall of pain, Daniel Bryan's world champ run and heel turn. Alas all for it to come crashing down come the Royal Rumble. 1. Cos of persistent injuries to Christian and Henry and Vince and HHH's ego cluster fucking everything.
So for Mania on Sunday I think Seth is gonna beat HHH clean and then Samoa Joe and KO are gonna come out and then Joe, KO, and HHH are gonna have Seth surrounded. Then Roman is gonna come out to help Seth and then HHH is gonna grab a mic and say "you know what to do" and then Roman is gonna spear Seth and then they'll all gang up and beat on Seth, and there's your new stable for Raw. Anyone else think this would be decent?
Alex Ortega or reigns comes out grabs a mic and says there's always a plan b and dean comes down the ramp with a steel chair shield vs evolution2 booooom! Got your run to summerslam match set up and then have the shield end on good terms all perusing their own belts
Man, I was in middle school during this Wrestlemania and at the time I thought it was really good. I watched it again recently and realized I was really, really wrong.
1:53 the reason Sting didn't join WWF/E originally was because of one segment when, The Rock asked Booker T Who he was. its on the Legends with JBL, Sting episode 4:48 - they were fined $50k each
I always thought WWE changing The Undertaker's entrance music to "Ain't No Grave" by Johnny Cash and then completely doctoring over that later was interesting.
Here's how I would have rebooked Wrestle Mania 27: PRE-SHOW: Eight Man Tag Match: Corre def. Big Show, Kane, Vladimir Kozlov & Santino Marella Main Show: Match 1: United States Championship: Sheamus (C) def. Daniel Bryan Match 2: Cody Rhodes def. Rey Mysterio Match 3: John Morrison, Trish Stratus & Snooki def. Dolph Ziggler & Lay Cool Match 4: Jerry "The King" Lawler w/Jim Ross def. Michael Cole w/Jack Swagger Match 5: Randy Orton def. CM Punk Match 6: WWE Championship: The Miz (C) def. John Cena Match 7: World Heavyweight Championship: Alberto Del Rio def. Edge (C) Match 8: Undertaker def. HHH in a No Holds Barred match
This was one of the first WWE things I've been introduced to. Weirdly I don't remember the show except Taker vs HHH....maybe I just watched that match.....
The Miz promo video package for the WrestleMania match was fuckin gold 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽. Had Nas playing in the background like The Miz was the best there ever was..
WrestleMania 27 = Sunday night raw
Nice one.
APizzle90 so was 2,9,11,13,15,16 and 25 are pretty awful as well
Anderton Chigoneka 25????
NICK LEGEND KILLER ORTON it wasn't good one and one of the best matches all time and rest other than money in the bank was good but rest wasn't good
APizzle90 and 32
2011: Sting doesn't trust WWE based on how bad WCW wrestlers were treated
2015: Sting comes to WWE and gets treated like crap and jobs to Triple H at Mania...
Guess he wasnt wrong
Rob Picken plus the last part of the match threw out the build up story for nonsensical run ins from DX and the nWo.
Vince mcmahon jalous of wcw
Not necessarily, if he had taken this deal at this time, he could've had that WM match with Undertaker AND avoided that mess that was the main event of Victory Road 2011.
@@BigBoss1228 If Vince didn't understand now he wouldn't have understand then he would have still done that stupid WCW shit.
No offense to Sting all the respect to him but bet he wish he took this deal instead of the one he took.....
Devon Foor facts
Yup. He stayed in TNA and faced Jeff "junkie" Hardy
I think the Triple H/Sting match was great, but I hate that they broke kayfabe and that STING was the one to extend his hand. Then he got retired by Seth Freakin' Rollins.
Bobby Lawson not even that im saying his WWE deal
Kaylee Black that wasn't Seth's fault, if he did the same thing to Hulk or Oldberg today and they landed wrong and got hurt its on them. Sting has stated it was him not Seth
What about the fact that Edge competed for the World Heavyweight title for 4 years straight from 2008-2011 at WrestleManias 24, 25, 26 & 27?
And this was the only one he won
The big gold belt became Edge's belt...
Glad you're enjoying them, man. Thank you.
U r Coooool Maaaannn
Thanks Jericho, good luck Sunday
Fake ass
Hey Justin would you prefer making video series for TNA bound for glory?
"John Morrison blew off Trish Stratus after their match.
Not like that, you fucking pervs." 😂😂😂😂
😆😆😆😆😆
Still have a lot of nostalgia for this one, despite it not being so great in hindsight. This was the first wrestle mania season since I started watching wrestling
Same
this was actually the first Wrestlemania i watched
Nathan Rivers and it was very terrible. My condolences buddy
Nathan Rivers same
Nathan Rivers the first mania I saw was 25
and mine was 23
what horribe experience...
When I heard that The Miz suffered a concussion during his match, I instantly started respecting him a little bit more for finishing the damn thing. I was a fan (one of the few) already but that basically proved to me he means business.
Adam's lack of knowledge regarding Snooki is still one of my favorite (if not my favorite) running jokes here on WhatCulture :P
Man I wanted the Taker, Sting Match to happen so bad.... If Anything That Match would've brought Life to that WrestleMania....
Two in one day? My mind is so fucked right now.
ColeDynamite gotta get them out before WM 33.
ColeDynamite Don't worry, Vince has everything in control before mania, just has to get Romans approval.
It's tomorrow over in their timezone. Real early, too. Bunch of night owls, WhatCulture.
yup its 4am here wooooooooo
It's 4am here.
We'll get 28 tonight.

31 around this time on Saturday morning.
32 on Saturday night.
All done and dusted before WM Sunday.
Timing.
You guys missed the best match of the card. Randy Orton vs CM Punk
What ? The best match of wrestlemania 27 was clearly undertaker vs triple h
Edmillions maybe second best behind Taker/HHH but still a great match nonetheless
My friend and I were 15 and lived Atlanta. We saved up all year so we could get good seats and FINALLY go to a Wrestlemania. When we found out Miz vs Cena was gonna be the title match we almost cried.
I would've loved to see Undertaker vs Sting
Belive it or not, it actually happened way before The Undertaker or Sting characters were made!
@damianking1267 Unfortunately, this match was not filmed.
Ditto for me. May not have been a good wrestlemania, but having that experience is something I will always cherish.
kari jackson Exactly. Bur I always had this conspiracy theory that Atlanta received a sucky Mania card because it was the home of Vince Mcmahon's biggest rival promotion, WCW, and for all his troubles in the 90s he punished the city for it 😂
Good Grief. I know Vince can be demented but if that was the case then he is truly a cruel man. I mean you won man, let it go.
I was there too and maybe because I'm 10 years older but we hated the show. A lot of people in my section walked out during the main event and no one seemed to be paying attention during the Rhodes and Rey match. The highlight for me was meeting punk that Friday before at a rest stop
Erris It actually wasnt edges final match, he wrestled a house show not long after. but thats not as memorable as is being at wrestlemania
They offered Sting a HOF spot and a Wrestlemania match with The Undertaker, he must be the only wrestler on the planet that would turn that down.
Cena/Miz WM 33 > Cena/Miz WM 27
#Facts W
Shinsuke Nakamura W
Shinsuke Nakamura #Facts W
Shinsuke Nakamura hopefully
Probably because the Miz has had more time to actually work on his gimmick. Right now Miz is the best heel on Smackdown. Hands down.
5 left Blampied. We believe in you
Christian Anderson this is the rough stretch
Christian Anderson Well give some credit to Justin Henry.
Saboor Azizi right cant forget the guy who wrote the articles
Good god I remember being at this Wrestlemania. It was trash except for HHH and Taker. All I wanted to see at the show was Bryan's first proper 'Mania match and they took that away from us. No title changes either. I remember leaving the arena and the crowd was all silent as they walked to the parking lot. Severely underwhelming.
I still think that Miz promo played right before the match is one of the best WWE has ever produced.
"You wanna go" legendary words from Undertaker
Now looking back it might be bad, but i must say that up until 33, wrestlemania 27 was the last time i was absolutely uber excited and couldn't wait for wrestlemania to come. I felt the build and everything to it was amazing. perks of me being 14 at the time i guess.

cough cough....
Who's telling him?
So guys, we did it

"Theme Park of Mean Marks" -- HILARIOUS! :-D

I used to have a DVD of this one and watch it all the time when I was younger... Holy crap I didn't know what a good WM was like at the time
two videos in one day!!!!!! its a great day to be alive
Given The Rock's schedule, am glad he is able to show up at every WrestleMania
This was a lovely surprise. keep em coming
I think the next video is " Fascinating Facts About Wrestlemania 28" if I'm wrong I'll buy everyone a pizza
Nanto Jama hopefully Adam sees this and uploads wrestlmania 29
Nanto Jama, A large thin, and crispy, with Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, and Beef, please.
could be the 2nd booking video so i expect a pizza
Whatculture plz do WM 29 next... WM 28 has no fascinating facts
See I think the next video will be the WTF moments for SD ;)
"Right Dead Fred" was funny but I lost my shit when you called Undertaker "Fighting Dale the Nightingale" 😂😂😂😂 These Undertaker names are hilarious!!!

Wrestlemania 25,26,💩,28,29

essa khalil WWE Wrestlemania 29 isn't shit because i defeated Brock Lesnar with my career on the line.....

I can't hate this show. I was there with friends and had a really great time. For me the experience of being at WM live made up for the bad stuff.
Man in hindsight, Sting should've probably taken that deal the first time round. Fans could've gotten that Undertaker dream match plus he would've gotten a lengthier run out of it. Instead we got an unnecessarily overbooked match with Triple H and a match with Seth Rollins that's it.
Michael Cole had a great match. I know he used to help the new guys learn the craft.
I can't wait for Plumpty Boy Pacitti to make his debut post WrestleMania.
Max Walker i
From WM 25 to 29 Taker should have main evented considering his status & opponents: Michaels, Hunter, & Punk. Each match with Taker at WMs: 25, 26, 27, 28, & 29 were all magnificent and each was match of the night.
Two in one day. THIS IS AWESOME
You know they're behind when this happens
My first mania man. Brings memories for me
I've really been enjoying this stroll down WrestleMania-memory lane
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4:56 Best moment of the vid 🤣
In watching Mania 31 again earlier. My guess for one of the facts for 31 is that during rehearsal for their match, Rollins and Orton didn't get the Kerb Stomp/RKO finishing spot right once.
Don't know why Morrison received heat for that. I mean , his gf didn't receive a paycheck because of Trish and suddenly everyone in the back hated him for not hugging her? Wth
Andrew | #Walkthroughs not to mention got de-pushed completely
Wade barrett vs undertaker was supposed to happen at WrestleMania 27 but plans changed after taker got injured after bragging rights 2010
Thanks for showing my hometown of Bakersfield in the super market brawl with stone cold and booker t. Sadly that market is no longer there...
"The Undertaker's wife Michell McCool"
I just can't,it's not even a joke,it's a factual statement and I'm laughing my ass of
Unless my memory is failing me, I think I recall that the 'Taker/Lesnar moments were more based around a desire for Undertaker challenging him to a MMA match. The Miz's Wrestlemania 27 video package was one of the best ever.
Last time I was this early....... Whatculture wasn't one massive commercial
King Ross vs Hobo Joe... book it!!!
Que the late nights and long hours to pump out thise last few mania vids in preparation for mania 30 😎👊
I traveled from Seattle to Atlanta to sit on the floor live and the Taker Triple H match was awesome. Live it wasn’t so bad.
I used to call Scott Hall's arm wrench shoulder block the "Cold Shoulder".
I gave you my heart I gave you my soul
I gave you
*DEEZ NUTS*
All the good matches from wm 25 to 28 involved taker. 👍🏻👍🏻
I love these videos
Would of loved to seen Brock vs Taker, Taker could still go and Brock's MMA like attitude would of been awesome.
It's 4 in the morning, who the hell are you uploading this for?
2011: Edge retires after his neck injury
2020: Hey remember when Daniel Bryan came back from a neck injury despite retiring? Let's do that with Edge now!
best quote of 2017 "I dont even know what a snooki is"
my boy undertaker is enjoying on the thumbnail
This was the first WrestleMania I ever saw. Looking back on it, Triple H V. Undertaker was the only really good match on the card. John Cena vs. The Miz wasn't bad, only to be ruined by the Rock, and neither was Edge vs. Alberto Del Rio, but the rest were just forgettable or plain bad.
This was the first WrestleMania I ever watched live
I can already tell that Once in a Lifetime was always supposed to be a 3 Wrestlemania thing, at 27, 28 and 29 will be Number 1.
It's funny because a few short weeks after, WWE would go on to have its best run since the Attitude era. From the start of Summer of Punk, Christian's "one more match" The rise of Zach Ryder, Mark Henry's hall of pain, Daniel Bryan's world champ run and heel turn.
Alex Ortega If u sub to me ill sub back
Alex Ortega Definitely awesome. which means it won't happen. Cause WWE won't do it
This is exactly the sort of thing I was thinking for roman. A heel turn with this new stable with trips, Joe, and KO is the kind of thing he needs.
Alex Ortega that's not a bad idea, Alex. I didn't think about that. But I don't think Vince would turn Roman heel, I just don't see it happening.
Alex Ortega or reigns comes out grabs a mic and says there's always a plan b and dean comes down the ramp with a steel chair shield vs evolution2 booooom! Got your run to summerslam match set up and then have the shield end on good terms all perusing their own belts
I'm trying to enter a wrestling league but this one league is kicking my ass
Strange how Vince rejected the research on Benoit's brain, but banned chair shots to the skull anyway.
Another fun fact was The Miz was the first person to pin cena at wrestlemania in a singles match
When you take a couple days off and are like, fuck we got 4 days for 5 videos.
Man, I was in middle school during this Wrestlemania and at the time I thought it was really good. I watched it again recently and realized I was really, really wrong.
Lesnar needs to bring back the beard
1:53 the reason Sting didn't join WWF/E originally was because of one segment when, The Rock asked Booker T
Who he was. its on the Legends with JBL, Sting episode 4:48 - they were fined $50k each
I always thought WWE changing The Undertaker's entrance music to "Ain't No Grave" by Johnny Cash and then completely doctoring over that later was interesting.
Here's how I would have rebooked Wrestle Mania 27:
PRE-SHOW:
Eight Man Tag Match:
Corre def. Big Show, Kane, Vladimir Kozlov & Santino Marella
Main Show:
Match 1:
United States Championship:
Sheamus (C) def. Daniel Bryan
Match 2:
Cody Rhodes def. Rey Mysterio
Match 3:
John Morrison, Trish Stratus & Snooki def. Dolph Ziggler & Lay Cool
Match 4:
Jerry "The King" Lawler w/Jim Ross def. Michael Cole w/Jack Swagger
Match 5:
Randy Orton def. CM Punk
Match 6:
WWE Championship:
The Miz (C) def. John Cena
Match 7:
World Heavyweight Championship:
Alberto Del Rio def. Edge (C)
Match 8:
Undertaker def. HHH in a No Holds Barred match
Love all the different names for the Undertaker !!
So is there not going to be a WTF Moments video since King Ross and the guys are on their way to Orlando?
This was one of the first WWE things I've been introduced to. Weirdly I don't remember the show except Taker vs HHH....maybe I just watched that match.....
Yura Yedynak I only remember that match and the rey vs cody match. basically the only matches I cared for from wm27
