1998 was a damn good year. Another interesting fact since Raw didn't air on one Monday (I think because of a dog show I don't remember) . So for the highlight episode that they would normally do for Raw they did for SummerSlam later that week.
Just found the VHS at value village throughly enjoyed! I always figured it was hard to cut double j's hair cuz it was sweaty, just like with the hair match between piper and Adonis they had to pull out the trusty scissors
Heads up about the Heat ratings. WWE did host preshows before PPV back then called the Free For All. Hosted by Doc Hendrix, it began a half hour before Summerslam and overlapped with Heat. I remember my cable provider included the Free for All as part of the Summerslam show so when the FFA began broadcasting my cable switched to that and I missed the second half of Heat. The next month there was no FFA, but it came back the month after and continued on for a while. I don’t know why but WWE regularly overlapped programming during the Sunday Night Heat era. When Wrestlemania 2000 happened they did like a 12 hour broadcast show for it and it overlapped heat again
The deal between wwe and icp was that wwe would promo their new cd at least once. It never happened and they were going to pay wwe a fee for something but since wwe broke the deal, they left (it was the interview they did with the oddities[mostly Luna] where violent j said "they had to leave") so that caused the bad blood. So wwe wont acknowledge it after because then they'd have to pay psychopathic for using icp in future videos (from that point on) so it was edited out after that ordeal went down
I remember this was the Summerslam that had the audio messed up during the entire pay per view. The commentary as mute and the rest of the audio was muffed at best
1) the tag match wasn't a handicapped match. Kane just wasn't there (til after it was over) B) the ladder match wasn't that good. The fully loaded ic match was way better

In 2012 Insane Clown Posse put out a song called "Chris Benoit". WWE was not thrilled to say the least.
Krunk wwe promised icp that they would air icp commercials. However wwe never aired them. Icp was upset about this and they left wwe.
It was likely due to copyright of the oddities song, icp making a song about Benoit has nothing to do with it.
I always watch the ads when they appear on any whatculture channel because I think they deserve it
