It doesn't need to though. It's easy to look back at the good in 07 without thinking of chris benoit because in the ring it was overall a good year. Maybe the undertakers best as well as john cenas, batistas, Randy ortons, Jeff hardys and edge's. Last full year before wwe went PG as well .
newLEGACY boy no atleast he put up a fight. Cena was a little fresh but Mahal wasn't but fresh at all. Sandow put up a chance yet Corbin didn't and lost by a roll up in what 15 seconds?
Nice of Vince to give Undertaker extra time to heal. And I'm glad he made the call for Undertaker to return at Unforgiven 2007. His return turned that PPV into something that has never happened since: The first ever Undertaker-Themed PPV!
2007 was a weird time for WWE titleholders. They had a giant who couldn't wrestle, an Italian fan who came out of the crowd in Milan, the "GoDaddy" girl, a leprechaun, a 1960s celebrity impersonator, and two 1950s nostalgia faddists. It was a more innocent time, to be sure.
I enjoy these Fascinating SummerSlam Facts, for the synopsis. I honestly forgot what took place during the Summerslams between Hogan/HBK, up to the one where Cena was squashed by Lesnar.
Beniot is definitely not innocent, and I understand why WWE don't want to mention his name anymore or show his matches but they can escape the fact that busy work schedules, dangerous move sets and inappropriate evaluation of the mental health of their wrestlers were partially to blame for what happened to Beniot. That being said even in his state of mind he had no right to take the life of 2 people and although he was one of my favourites back in the day and I may get nostalgic about his wrestling persona you have to accept that this unwell man chose to not seek help for whatever he was experiencing and thus turned into a murderer.
Woah dude I agree but he didn't just have mental health issues the autopsy showed that he was Severely brain damaged like Benoit shouldn't have been alive but u made some good points man
I think from what I have heard he may of been going through depression after the death of his best friend Eddie Guerrero and WWE should of noticed that or had evaluations for the whole roster every few months after a major trauma like losing someone in the wrestling world but thank you for acknowledging that I was not trying to take Beniots wresting achievements away from him rather I was just saying it as it is.
He did go for help but he didn't know what it was. He seemed to have know something was wrong with him. He did tell Chris Nowinski about how many times he was concussed and did write in his diary that he would forget things but he wasn't sure if it was from bumping. This was back before CTE was hardly a thing and CTE is something you could find through symptoms or after your dead. You couldn't just look at someone and know if they have CTE. Especially since they are wrestlers that would expect would all have CTE. He had the symptoms but no one was able to point it out. So Benoit couldn't really have known what was happening in his mind and for all he knows, the could've thought the pain was in his neck instead of his brain.
Woah Your not forced into wrestling out of the womb, it's a choice. Every wrestler is aware of the risks and dangers of the business. It was their choice to wrestle 5 star matches until they needed painkillers. Yes health protocols are partly to blame but if you try to tell me that Benoit did that headbutt because Vince forced him to (Or NJPW which everyone forgets he used that move) you're crazy. But hey guilty by association right? Dynamite Kid showed him the move and Harley Race invented it why don't we throw them in jail.
I can't believe it has been so long since that Signature Pharmacy scandal happened. There was so much intrigue going into WWE's subsequent TVs regarding how the suspended workers would be presented on TV.
First ever WWE event I went to. I was around 13 at the time and I went with my dad to the old Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford for this event. The whole Beniot thing really was a bummer for every wrestling fan around that time, but overall it didn't affect the entire mood of the show. Despite what some of you may have heard on TV in terms of crowd noise, it was actually super loud at the arena that night, especially when Stone Cold came out. While it was a below average show looking back on it now, I really enjoyed my time there mainly because of the experience going to see it live, especially since it was a Summerslam PPV
I think this was around the time I stopped watching wrestling for a really long time. Benoit, WWE imploding in on itself, TNA becoming WCW 2.0... it was a really bad time to be a wrestling fan.
I love all these recap videos. I stopped watching wrestling back in 2002. So this is a cool way to catch up without back tracking through the network. I started watching again last November and I'm seriously disappointed. It's not like how it used to be. Oddly I miss 1996 right before the attitude era kicked off. Horrible ratings but great wrestling.
Chris Jerico got Goldberg into a headlock backstage and wouldn't let go, you can't escape.

GK beat the BS in a backatage argument....let that sink in......................Also Batista and Booker...*ahem* KING...BOOKAHHHH!....got into a little fight as well, yet people still aren't sure who won the fight, some claim Booker cause he dominated most of the fight, but others (including Finlay) say Batista won cause Booker got a black eye.
Wow, imagine if 2012 had been Orton's strike three? I know WWE can hire them back after a three strike but I'm not sure how long they would have to wait. How different would the past five years have been? I don't think Orton would have gone to TNA or ROH due to his family history, but what if.......
so what about jeff hardy who came back ? the Wellness policy is a joke i'm sure there is a lot of wrestlers who have more than 3 strikes in wwe but nothing happened to them.
Actually, Jeff never quite reached his third strike with the company. He came sure as hell close though when he left after his storyline with CM Punk. Not long after Jeff left WWE, he was busted for trafficking prescription pills (ironic since Hardy and Punk had been working a storyline about Jeff's drug abuse and Punk actually brought up Hardy illegally buying pills at one point). But the point is Jeff was already gone from WWE when he was arrested. Had he still been in WWE's employ, he DEFINITELY would have gotten his third strike and been out of WWE for good!!!!
Umaga turned face before SummerSlam. He turned heel again after the event when Jeff Hardy returned. He dropped the title back to Jeff before his suspension.
Summerslam 07 will always hold a place in my heart as that PPV was how I became a wrestling fan specifically the main event that was the first match I ever saw I was just amazed by it
Just some more info on Wolfe-Parkinsons-White, which I had as well as MVP. Your heart has nerves, which fire electrical impulses which causes your heart to beat. WPW causes you to have more nerves than normal, so when you exert yourself, your heart rate skyrockets. I found out when I passed out running track at school. A simple surgery in which they burn the nerves fixed it. In and out in 3 days. about 1 in 200,000 people get it. It's not as rare as they make it seem, but it is very treatable and non fatal, except in extreme circumstances.
DeathDealer Wolf thank you for taking the time to explain that, and to explain it so simply. I lost my mother in January 2016 to a cluster of heart problems, and I've been eager to learn more about the heart and different ailments.
6:39 - Strong Bad: "Ohhhh If you want to be possessive, it's just i-t-s, but if you want it to be a contraction then it's i-t-apostrophe-s!... Scalawag!"
Funny story about the Jackass crew andWWE. Steve-O was the Joe Rogan podcast recently and he made mention about botching a finish with Umaga. He claims that Umaga then dropped an elbow on his head and beat him so bad he doesn't remember the match at all.
Joey who wasn't eh in wwe for the past 10 years with the pg era going on, the scripted promos & the random feuds & rivalries, so that booking was the reason of his declining plus he isn't motivated anymore & why he should in this crappy company, but saying that he didn't do anything since 2007 is totaly wrong & 100% lies coz he had some great feuds & matches like vs triple h in 2009, christian in 2011, daniel bryan in 2013 & 2014 and vs seth rollins in 2015, and that's far from 2007, and for the lesnar match i think you know that wrestling is scripted right.........
Joey lol it was scripted like everything in wrestling & wwe come on tell me that you don't believe that lesnar went off scripte ! it was all staged & orton knew it & accept it and the elbows didn't make orton bleed but the blade that he cut his forhead with is the one that made him bleed
What's up with the 3 day gap whatculture? it took 3 Days to upload the next 10 Fascinating Facts About Summerslam 3 days you could have been at Summerslam 2010 now
Hotdog Pants what he did was not his fault he had severe brain damage he should have beeen dead it was mainly WWEs fault Painkillers injuries and Eddies death

Lmao i remember being in my room and having found out how to buy PPV’s, i got yelled at because i was 6 lmao, i spent the rest of the day being screamed at.
Wwe could have saved Eddie Guerrero’s life if they would have done heart tests 3 years prior. Messed up stuff always needs to happen first for them to do something
While I certainly agree that what Beniot did was horrible , I think when your autopsy report says your brain has the sort of damage would expect from a 90 year old Alzheimer patient its not much of a stretch to say that he could not be aware of his actions. Plus i'm not a fan of unpersoning him because it also punishes the people he worked with who now cannot acknowledge their matches and the like with him
TNT Giant 13 Never heard a story of someone with CTE both in wrestling or NFL murdering people before killing themselves besides Benoit. No one forced him to shove painkillers down his throat or use the headbutt either. He willingly adopted it from Dynamite Kid.
Jake Sorrentino Dude U must be ignorant of mental illness like I've said many times his brain was Mush and he was in a very dark place at the time He was still grieving after Eddies death and no one at WWE bothered to see if he was okay
wweecwwcwtnanba1928 It had to happened though. He may not have been the direct cause but if he hadn't done what he did, WWE wouldn't be as strict as they are now towards their medical care which could've resulted in more deaths.
Ugh, John Cena's 3rd reign was WAY TOO LONG. They should've just had Orton beat him at SummerSlam, rather than having Cena relinquish it due to injury. I was like, jeez they are REALLY trying to protect Cena here.
Whenever I think of 2007 WWE, Benoit ALWAYS comes to mind and it's a pretty sad feeling knowing one event had such a huge impact on WWE forever..
I don't believe Benoit did it 😒
John Cena VS Randy Orton
58 times in a lifetime
Just like The Rock vs Austin.
Juan CL crazy coincidence. Here's another: The Rock and John Cena are both Tauruses. (4/20-5/20)
Don't like it? Get over it you dreg, their chemistry is better than you want to admit
Don't let this video distract you from the fact that Baron Corbin had the worst MITB cash in
Paige *Damien Sandow
Paige piss off with that we don't need that for a video with a heavy topic throughout the video
newLEGACY boy no atleast he put up a fight. Cena was a little fresh but Mahal wasn't but fresh at all. Sandow put up a chance yet Corbin didn't and lost by a roll up in what 15 seconds?
DeV Six. It was 6 seconds
newLEGACY boy at least Sandow had a good match with it my newlegacyinc friend
We want "How WWE should have booked" series back!
Michael most of it is on extra so they are there just have to pay for it
Venemofthe888 no there not. Stop spreading misinformation.
Michael Yessss
We want it back
Yeah no i had extra there really isn't much extra in terms of lists.
2007 was truly one of the darkest years in wwe.
but still much better than today's wrestling in 2017.
zakaria djouzi not really
robin no really it was much better back then
This was my first ever WWE show, I was 10 years old, now I am 20 years old.
"Umaga wrestled an all heel triple threat"
So nobody remembers Umaga turned face for a couple of weeks in 2007?
Nice of Vince to give Undertaker extra time to heal. And I'm glad he made the call for Undertaker to return at Unforgiven 2007. His return turned that PPV into something that has never happened since: The first ever Undertaker-Themed PPV!
Buried Alive 1996
Taker’s Revenge 1997
Bad Blood 1997
Unforgiven 1998
Not like there was a in your house called “Takers Revenge”😭
2007 was a weird time for WWE titleholders. They had a giant who couldn't wrestle, an Italian fan who came out of the crowd in Milan, the "GoDaddy" girl, a leprechaun, a 1960s celebrity impersonator, and two 1950s nostalgia faddists. It was a more innocent time, to be sure.
2007 was such A chaotic year for WWE.
I remember watching this event on PPV and couldn't get pass the fact that Chris Beniot was gone
The hell was William regal even on the juice for? He had no muscles like Morrison did
Eric Russell it helps strength as well
FatJap Man we was more of a grabbler no? Except maybe a suplex
Eric Russell "The juice" also helps with recovery.
I really want the term to be "grabbler" now, hah. That's great.
Gotta say though, Regal was a hell of a wrestler. His in ring ability could make anyone he wrestled look good.
I enjoy these Fascinating SummerSlam Facts, for the synopsis. I honestly forgot what took place during the Summerslams between Hogan/HBK, up to the one where Cena was squashed by Lesnar.

Woah yeah man he was a great wrestler it's just a tragedy it's unfortunate that a whole family had to die before change happened
He did go for help but he didn't know what it was. He seemed to have know something was wrong with him. He did tell Chris Nowinski about how many times he was concussed and did write in his diary that he would forget things but he wasn't sure if it was from bumping. Orton should have been suspended. Friends in high places has its perks. Also, that story about Mysterio's Silver Surfer outfit is bonkers.
Jake Oliver I just think they could afford to at the time with more than half of their main Event guys hurt.
Orton is goat
Vince is bonkers. Hadn't you noticed?
Personal fun fact for me Summerslam 2007 was the first Summerslam PPV I've ever seen.
I can't believe it has been so long since that Signature Pharmacy scandal happened. There was so much intrigue going into WWE's subsequent TVs regarding how the suspended workers would be presented on TV.

2007 was the peak of my wrestling fandom. So there's a lot of memories in this video
I think this was around the time I stopped watching wrestling for a really long time.
Benoit, WWE imploding in on itself, TNA becoming WCW 2.0... it was a really bad time to be a wrestling fan.

I was at the event where HHH tore his quad (2007) he finished the match and did a pedigree on the announce table. He earned my respect that night.
Khali still should have beaten Batista. Would have meant more as a monster heel than a DQ finish
gotta say im going to have to tune into WCPW Loaded this week, what a card!
JBL attacked Blue Meanie
Oh not again!
Joey styles knocked out jbl on a flight back from Iraq
2005, your point?
Wow, imagine if 2012 had been Orton's strike three? I know WWE can hire them back after a three strike but I'm not sure how long they would have to wait. How different would the past five years have been? I don't think Orton would have gone to TNA or ROH due to his family history, but what if.......
Actually I think there Wellness policy is permanent. If you get three strikes and fired WWE can't and won't rehire you. At least not to my knowledge.
You're right. Once you get your third strike in WWE, you're out the door and gone for good!!!!
so what about jeff hardy who came back ? the Wellness policy is a joke i'm sure there is a lot of wrestlers who have more than 3 strikes in wwe but nothing happened to them.

Jeff was never fired for violation of the wellness policy, he only has two strikes to my understanding.
This was the first WWE event I ever watched lol 10 years later and i'm still watching WWE
Talking about the Benoit incident with light-hearted elevator music in the background. Classy.
WCPW is turning out to be an awesome promotion
I would've loved to see Hornswoggle vs wee man in a boxing match hahaha
Umaga turned face before SummerSlam. He turned heel again after the event when Jeff Hardy returned. He dropped the title back to Jeff before his suspension.
Rest In Peace to those that passed away.
Imagine if they actually had to fire Orton?
I just can't imagine Orton in an indy promotion.
Summerslam 07 will always hold a place in my heart as that PPV was how I became a wrestling fan specifically the main event that was the first match I ever saw I was just amazed by it
Orton is who CM Punk was talking about when he said "guys can get popped, work that one off only to get popped again"
datboyjeff that was always my assumption.
Damn, jackass crew vs umaga was a real missed opportunity
IDC if this is nostalgia talking but 2007 was the greatest year for wwe period. No debating

Ten years....Damn. Seems like it's been longer than that. Today's WWE is so far removed from a decade ago in a lot of ways.
Shawn Heidingsfelder true
10 years we had the 1st Ever iPhone, Total Drama Island

Matt hardy and MVP is an underrated feud
War Machine vs. Moss and Slater is going to be fucking phenomenal.
6:39 - Strong Bad: "Ohhhh If you want to be possessive, it's just i-t-s, but if you want it to be a contraction then it's i-t-apostrophe-s!... Scalawag!"
Apparently, Vince knows his damn comics
Funny story about the Jackass crew andWWE. Steve-O was the Joe Rogan podcast recently and he made mention about botching a finish with Umaga. He claims that Umaga then dropped an elbow on his head and beat him so bad he doesn't remember the match at all.
5 days 9 more summerslam vids
Wow imagine if they had suspended Orton? Damn I can't imagine him anywhere else
Marko Tello roster was way to thin to suspend him.
Joey are fucking reterded from 2007 to 2009, & a little bit in 2011, 2014 & 2015 orton was great but you're obviously a hater.

Joey i was thinking the same about you.

Great more plumpy!
2:38 Technically, Umaga was face at SummerSlam. He even teamed with Cena to wrestle Carlito and Mr. Kennedy on Raw
Wee Man vs. Hornswoggle in a boxing match would have been fucking sick.

Guys lets not remember him for the bad moments let's remember his good moments
My daughter has Wolff-Parkinson's White Syndrome, specifically supraventricular tachycardia. She was diagnosed within weeks after being born by our amazing pediatrician. She had to take medication 3X daily for her first 2 years. Now she's ok. In a nutshell, her condition causes the heart to beat faster because there's an extra valve. Usually genetic.
Don't let this video distract you from the fact that Baron Foreskin just had the best inadvertently funny moment in WWE history last Tuesday
Can't believe we lost the best guest hosting stars match ever: Jackass vs Umaga
I want "How WWE should've booked Jackass vs Umaga"
Lmao i remember being in my room and having found out how to buy PPV’s, i got yelled at because i was 6 lmao, i spent the rest of the day being screamed at.
Wwe could have saved Eddie Guerrero’s life if they would have done heart tests 3 years prior. Messed up stuff always needs to happen first for them to do something
While I certainly agree that what Beniot did was horrible , I think when your autopsy report says your brain has the sort of damage would expect from a 90 year old Alzheimer patient its not much of a stretch to say that he could not be aware of his actions. Plus i'm not a fan of unpersoning him because it also punishes the people he worked with who now cannot acknowledge their matches and the like with him
MisterEEK thank u Man U get people just saying he was evil but they don't understand the situation properly
TNT Giant 13 Never heard a story of someone with CTE both in wrestling or NFL murdering people before killing themselves besides Benoit. No one forced him to shove painkillers down his throat or use the headbutt either. He willingly adopted it from Dynamite Kid.
Jake Sorrentino Dude U must be ignorant of mental illness like I've said many times his brain was Mush and he was in a very dark place at the time He was still grieving after Eddies death and no one at WWE bothered to see if he was okay
also it's the first Women's match at Summerslam since 1999
Fuck it's so weird that this was 9 years ago and I remember it clear as day
When I bought this ppv on DVD . Wine up by Kat Deluna got a dubbed by intermental pop music
In all honesty, the diva battle royal was the best one theyve had.
My prediction was Cena and Orton next year for the title at Wrestlemania
How many videos have they missed out?
it took them 3 days to upload 10 Fascinating Facts About Summerslam 2007 they could have been at Summerslam 2010 now
8:43 someone needs to turn this into a wrestling music video
Dude get it right! Batista, Randy Orton, and Kane were the only top dogs not to get injured in 2007
HHH and John Cena dug those holes with their golden shovels.
I might just be spoiled by the traditional hard cams of the larger promotions, but WCPW's camera angles give me a headache
Fascinating fact: it was the first time a womens match was on a summerslam card in 7 years
I want 'On this day' back...
Cutting a bit close with Summerslam on Sunday in 4 days and still 9 videos to go.
Please make some videos about ECW.
Just imaged if Randy Orton was fired in 2012 that would be crazy since wwe would not be wwe without the viper
This was also fabulous moolahs last appearance in wwe
Bring back "How wwe should've booked" and "how wwe should book"
Thanks alot benoit for help making wwe go pg. But u still the goat though lol.
wweecwwcwtnanba1928 It had to happened though. He may not have been the direct cause but if he hadn't done what he did, WWE wouldn't be as strict as they are now towards their medical care which could've resulted in more deaths.
I remember being in attendance for this PPV
Can we have a "10 Fascinating Facts about In Your House" series?
Ugh, John Cena's 3rd reign was WAY TOO LONG. They should've just had Orton beat him at SummerSlam, rather than having Cena relinquish it due to injury. I was like, jeez they are REALLY trying to protect Cena here.
Wow, John and Randy each having 5 victories against each other in 1-on-1 PPV matches? Maybe they should have one more match to settle things
NO
I think I'm having a brainfart but I still don't understand why McMahon was upset over Mysterio dressing up as the Silver Surfer
Do a list of 10 reasons no wrestler should work for WWE
So are you guys gonna be uploading 2 videos a day to make it to 2016 by Sunday? Lol
That moment when u realize they not gonna finish this before Summerslam unless they Multi upload in one day😐😐
That escalated quickly
Jesus Christ 2007 was a depressing year for the wrestling world....
RIP Chris Benoit
We miss you!
Has Mysterio ever wore a costume based on an Anime character?
I think there was one time when he was wrestling in a Japanese promotion he came out as Ultraman.
Let's please acknowledge that the "Jackass theme song" is actually the song 'Corona' by the godlike Minutemen.
Eyyy I have this on DVD
The best Randy Orton vs John Cena match imo (Breaking Point 2009 and Bragging Rights 2009 are good too)
So this is Ten years ago.... damn...........I swear I thought I said that before.
