Mooie video!
That’s pretty good acceleration for that length of train, I was onboard a Class 158 that was delayed last night, and the driver really gave it the berries and we must’ve been doing 40mph once we left the platform!
@Leo_125. Ah yes, I remember this from our DM 90s as well, which were quite similar to the Class 158s. They were very fast on the first miles an hour, but it did quickly decrease after that however. Is that the same with 158s?
Vanaf april zullen de icr buiten dienst gesteld worden en in december 2025 zou de laatste er uit moeten zijn. Het einde van een tijdperk. Rip traxx + icr
Do they still drive except the new NG?İ love the 186s and i was in one of them from the NS in amsterdam. Sadly my cameras were a bit broken when i was in Amsterdam and İ am going to drive there again next year in spring :)
@@HorizonSpottingGermany-kd6kh Ahw, that's a bad coincidence to have happened! Officially, they're out of service, but in reality they're being phased out at the moment. As soon as there are enough ICNGs, they'll be gone, but you can still capture them on the EuroCity services at the very least. I'm not entirely sure on the domestic IC Directs, but there are still some around! I think you'll be just in time in Spring!
No, 160! They always have been able to. Just like all the other "regular" intercity stock, except the DDZ which is 140. The problem is that they can't under ATB, which is limited to an absolute maximum of 145 km/h and therefor don't go any faster. These carriages are the exception, since they do parts of the HSL where they are ERTMS controlled and actually do go the full 160! (On a 300 km/h track section, mind you. 😂)

The driving van trailer was designed for the loco of the 1700 series and was not converted to work with the Traxx. Therefore these are no longer used as intended.
The first car is indeed a driving van trailer! And as Ron Voorburg already explained, it used to work with the Serie 1700, and believe it could also work with the 1600 and 1800, though the latter normally wasn't seen in passenger service much. These locos couldn't work the HSL, so the TRAXXes came instead! It is in The Netherlands, indeed! I think you refer to our ICM. You should see them in real life, because they are absolutely majestic, and perhaps the best electric train this country has ever seen. As a driver for the Dutch Railways I get to drive them, and they are absolutely magnificent! 🥰
It has also to do with the complexity of the HSL in the Netherlands. So many train got stranded in the 1600DC > 25000 AC voltage lock , that the technicians decided , after a lot of contemplating, to connect a Traxx loc to both ends of the train. That way one end of the train always has access to electricity in case of a power breakdown ( most of the time because of mistakes by the engineer on the train ).
In 2013/2014 we drove regional trains in Berlin with 2 Taurus locomotives and 4 carriages, that was fun.

@You can feel the acceleration until the gear change, after that it gets less noticeable.
@Leo_125. Yeah, it was the exact same with the DM90, which changed gears at 100 km/h. 😁
A class 158 is diesel and takes 95 seconds plus to reach 60 mph. It’s pretty slow.
Why the front pantograph?
Prachtig gefilmd man!! Het blijven zeer mooie treinen!
Dankjewel!! Absoluut. Echte klassiekers! 🥰

Thanks, Martin! 😃
I wouldn’t have said that’s even full power!
I think they can do more as well!
@@TrainsbyMthe loco's: most likely yes, especially when under 15kV~ or 25kV~ but the Dutch catenery can't handle such high currents 🤣
Perhaps just a little bit more, i'd say, but definitely a lot more on the high voltage AC sections. 😂😁
When they drive as a light engine, then it is a real rocket. But most people won't be able to experience this
Sounds like it’s singing

that of the wagons (accelerating) is just made by the turn i think, ive had that sound on my videos of the IC direct here in delft also
Haha, ja de rijtuigen zijn uiteraard niet aangedreven. 😁
also to say, by accelerating i mean accelerating not that they have motors
waarom praat ik nog steeds engels lol
