He was the campaign manager/organizer in SC for Jesse Jackson in 1984 and 1988. (I think that Jackson won the state both times.) He often talked about getting organized politically. I think we need a Marcus Garvey/Malcolm X attitude towards politics and fight hard for or on policies that involve us. We also need to support those who REALLY support us and support policies that help us. The right wing is organized and runs effective campaigns. Hence, they are winning elections.
