So gorgeous and lush, I’m a lifelong musician and this is perhaps the most beautiful and perfect piece I’ve ever heard. Evokes tranquility, the spirit of Nature and an otherworldly mystery that invites me deeper than melancholy into the purity at the heart of life. Exquisite.
Played too slowly but bravo. I think Wyn Davis was being kind to them, playing an alien and unfamiliar piece. Can't ever recall a Portuguese orch.tackling Delius. However , went to Portugal as a teenager in the early 1980's and one of the tapes I listened to on the rooftop of our villa in glorious sunshine was an MFP cassette of the music of Delius conducted by Vernon Handley. And Delius felt just as at home in a foreign setting as it did in an English meadow on a June day. Indeed when I hear this piece I am reminded of that holiday of long ago. So in conclusion, Delius's music travels well and so it should considering what a cosmopolitan man he was.
"Ach du lieber, mein schatz"! Gorgeous music & nicely played. BUT where was the camera man??? He should have centered on the "cuckoo player" (clarinet) when he "cuckooed"!!! Does he not like "cuckoos"?! DELIS - one of the greatest of beautiful melodies!!! "Gesundheit"!
interesting comment, comrade. always pleasing to see more than "pseudo english" on comments. sometimes you even find some information regarding the music/musicians. [not often]

It is being played with so much expression that it doesn't feel too slow for me. Beautifully played!
One of my favourite Delius pieces, and beautifully played here..
Beautiful sublime words cannot describe it , joint favourite Mahler's unfinished 10th fist movement .
Another beautiful piece of music by Mahler..

1.25 x is more like the generally accepted speed.

Tuning!
Yea, look and see what happens on Facebook instead. Nothing to see here. Heretic. At 2:20.
I agree. Lushly and beautifully played, but far too slow in tempo for me. Delius is a difficult composer to tackle.
too slow
