Absolutely MAGNIFICENT!!! Sir Thomas Beecham's love for the music of Frederick Delius (his two other favourite composers were Mozart and Richard Strauß) is plain in every bar of this elegiac and very evocative masterpiece, showing the composer to really have an individual voice and no mere imitation of Debussy or Ravel, even if all three men have an Impressionistic bent. Beecham truly gets his orchestra to play this chamber-score with love while justifying the use of a full body of strings. 5/5
Beecham was enthusiastic to introduce valuable composers unknown to the world, which I very appreciate.
