Tanks for youre reaction! Just wanna say that everything Erik has done are masterpices You got yoreself a deep rabbithole my friend😅Love from Sweden 🇸🇪❤ were Erik is from by the way.
Thank You for a GREAT reaction! 🙏🏻❤️❤️ The epic dark version: Letting the listener really understand the lyrics and the sadness of this song in a brilliant way! The best version, according to me! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🌟🌟🌟 LOVE this! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Erik is MASTERCLASS! Jona plays superbly! Together they are a dream team! 🔥🔥🤘🏻🤘🏻 He truly knows how to tell a story. Takes his time. The listener really listens. Erik sings with a warm and passionate voice. Then the outburst comes. His range is sooo wide. In the end of the song he softens again and sings with a clear voice. With the organ in the background it sounds like a funeral. The listener can reflect! AWESOME! And the video is perfectly shot! Erik never disappoints. His voice is unique! Greetings from a proud fellow countryman of Erik’s! 👋🏻👋🏻🇸🇪 EVERY song/cover by Erik is something else! Have You reacted to: All by myself-the Celine Dion challange?
If you check out his version of Dream On, you can see video clips of some of his live performances with the various bands he's fronted since winning Swedish Idol in 2009.
It's pretty common with folk music (and sea shanties too) that the origins of some songs have been lost. Back when there was no way to record sound, songs were passed along by people singing them, and new people hearing them and learning them. So it was probably easy to quickly lose track of the origins. And the songs would change over time as well, as people forgot or misheard the lyrics, and just put in whatever they thought would fit. And they might add new bits to the song as well. This is very common with sea shanties, especially since those songs had to have a certain rhythm that was good to work to. So a lot of those songs could easily switch verses with each other. And since sailors would travel all over the world, they'd pick up more songs, and pass them along on whatever ships they worked on in their lives. I had no idea that House of the rising sun had that kind of history before I saw the video description of Erik's video. Like a lot of people, I thought it was written by The Animals.
The most successful commercial version, recorded in 1964 by British rock band The Animals, was a number 1 hit in the United Kingdom and in the USA and Canada,Angelina Jordan does a phenomenal cover of The House Of The Rising Sun !thanks !
