The lyrics are about optimism. Henning sings about the belief that his relationship "Maybe Maybe" will always be as beautiful as it is today. It's about everyday things, waking up together, spending the day together, bonding, a declaration of love... e.g. "you're as cute as you look enjoying the fact that it's finally snowing in winter..."

This is the only band I've ever heard that broke the language barrier. The emotions are communicated with feeling. It's a different way to take in the songs, ya know? Reading the lyrics translated afterwards is like reading poetry. His words are moving and the music behind the words is virtuous. Truly, they are becoming an all-time favorite to me.

Salve! With Pocahontas he is SORRY for something, while in this song he thinks that "maybe" (vielleicht) can last forever, when his girl says it easily (leicht). But at the end of the song it is him who wants it no other way.
i didn't see anyone else mention this, but thought it might be the slightest bit interesting to non german speakers.
as you can see in the german translation schuhschrank provided he sings about a relationship being easy and he repeats the word easy even more than the title vielleicht; the german word for easy is leicht and as you know vielleicht can be translated as maybe(as well as possibly). i think that might be the reason why this song is so catchy and easy on the ears even for non german speaking people.
iiiin case you are wondering why the word vielleicht contains the word leicht; back in old middle high german(don't ask) around the 15th century people decided to combine the words vil līhte, which in todays german would be sehr(very) leicht(easy) many germans might be confused about this info, because in todays german viel means much or alot, but that is not where the viel in vielleicht originated from. if this raised the question "how did veryeasy turn into maybe?" then... i don't have an answer actually, thats just how language evolves i guess
all those facts were so intresting to learn about and maybe to answer the question at the end i feel like maybe IS the easiest answer? and it's much more easy to answer maybe to a question rather than a striaght up no or yes so i guess it's maybe the reason ? if so, it's very clever !
