Great walkthrough as usual! I couldn't make it to Otakuthon this year so it's nice to live vicariously through you. I've been attending for years and only now know there's something on the 7th floor thanks to your video LOL. Thanks again Crisu!
@@Flantan Thanks for watching! I guess if you didn’t need to eat at the con, you wouldn’t need to go up there. In 2022 the event room up there was the video game room. But it’s moved down to the 5th floor now, and the space is used for mid-size concerts or panels.
Another banger video Crisu, thanks for uploading this! I was there all three days (it's my hometown convention) but for those who couldn't be here, hopefully this helps reduce the FOMO a little 🙏 Hopefully I'll see you at another convention in the near future!
35:00 Actually this is the Montreal Pokémon League booth were you can challenge the gym leaders to win their badges. If you had a Switch with a copy of scarlet and violet (or choose to get a rental if you don't have one) you can sign up to challenge one of them. Btw the guy with the green shirt at 35:38 is me.
Otakuthon 2024 was great, was my first time attending! Only thing that sucked was the heat wave we had going on during that specific weekend. Great video man
Thanks for walk through of convention I really surprise there some many floors also there lots things to do in different floors also is fun see your favorite anime or games go see and play crisu have a fun and be safe also have a fun getting some merchs and enjoy rest of event 😉✌
Geez I really gave you that cold stare at 23:47 The line took an hour if not more and the heat made it miserable. I got to stash 10 original imported volumes at 4$ a piece, though. Cheaper than amazon!😎
Oh I didn't notice! Haha. Waiting an hour just to check out is crazy, but that's great you got a good deal out of it. Low prices must be why it was so popular...
24:15 unfortunately, some dishonest people took advantage of the insanely long checkout line to steal from the garage sale. I've heard that at its worst, it took more than an hour to be complete a purchase... I was personally affected by the thefts, I missed out on 50$ of profit due to lost or stolen items. Really sucks how poorly organized the garage sale was this year, I don't think it has ever been this bad before.
Oh no! I'm so sorry that happened to you. 😥 Yeah, I've been to this con for 3 years, and I don't ever recall the line being this long. Was it the network connection being bad, so card transactions were slow? Or they might have been short-staffed...
never understand what people do in those anime convention. market with overprice shit, panel where nobody go. they show movie release 10 year ago. game place with overprice game. overprice food. the video game place am mor equip at home than there.
@@Zygaron12 i can gladly answer your question as someone who has gone to otakuthon for 10 years! 1. A big majority of the art alley is small independant artists, with as many unique skills and art styles as there is people. As an artist myself its an enriching community to be part of, many of these artists are professionals or hobbyists and we are all united by our passion for art. For a lot of people its their career, and they are very successful. 2. Trust me, most panels are far from empty. Many even have to turn away people from the rooms being full. 3. Otakuthon isnt really a place for movie releases, thats more for bigger cons like AX and they have priority for anime premieres. 4. You dont go to cons for the food lol any seasoned nerd knows to pack lunches and snacks beforehand. 5. The video games place isnt really the main event, its a fun way to kill time like any arcade but there are tournaments happening like the smash one, which you do in person and a con is a good place to have well, the space for such a tournaments. You also failed to mentioned that cons are the unique place to meet celebrity artists, industry people like voice actors and animators, and musicians for a quick chat and signature, which you could never do somewhere else. The cosplays are a great part of any con, I’ve met many friends thanks to cosplay, its the easiest way to nerd out with someone who shares the same interests as you, its an easy conversation starter. Hope that helps you understand why an anime convention like otakuthon attracted around 36 000 people this summer :) and hope you’ll find your fun too
@@GagnesterLOL Yes, Otakuthon is a nice convention. I like the atmosphere. Even though there are big crowds, I still feel like I can find a space to sit. Montreal is a fun city, too. It reminds me a lot of New York City.
Hii so it's actually me on the thumbnail of the video 😭 I'm the Barbara cosplayer

I’ve never known there was a 7th floor until I saw your walkthrough last year. That day I spend more on food than merch. Thanks!
