If you can you should make a post with pictures of everything that was stolen and that way we can look out for thieves and maybe you can actually catch them. Thieves usually get caught because they are re-selling.

Be sure to focus on ya'lls mental health, and remember that at the end of the day everything can eventually be replaced. What's important is that you're safe. They may have taken merchandise, but they can never take away your creativity and resilience.

I heard this happened to someone last AX (@thousandskies) and their stuff was found at an LA swap meet 2 months later! A few locals have told me they have illegal/stolen merchandise there all the time. I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up there!

I am from California and sadly theft has been at a all time high due to high rises on gas, food etc. Im actually from San Francisco and cars being broken into for the most stupidest crap happens frequently. I think U made a right choice to have high expectations and to be fully prepared to bring all your merch. It wasn't like you knew your vehicle was going to get broken into, sadly. It's very unfortunate, but the fact U voiced it out will crack down the situation as im sure someone will notice your items will be selling out in the streets claiming its their merch.... Keep Ur head high! The Lord always provides reason behind every disguise and never fails to in return, turn it into a blessing. At least that's how i have my take on it 🙏🙏. Just look at it as a flood. What do most people do when there is a flood and lose ALL their goods? They rebuild and start over. It may take some time... at least U didn't hand make all your items🤌🏼🤌🏼😭
I used to live in LA and a lot of that stuff would pop up at Paramount Flea Market. I used to live half a block from it and when I walked through I was like... a lot of this "fell off a truck." I'm so sorry this happened!

Theft is actually really prominent in most major cities across California so if you ever come back, you need to be super careful. Thieves love to break into cars with out of state license plates or cars that are parked at or near hotels. They know people who are traveling tend to have a lot of stuff worth stealing. Large vehicles like suvs, vans, and uhauls are also a favorite since they do tend to have more things to steal.

This 1 tourist who came from Germany rented out a Sedan or mini SUV in SF, they went to visit the beach and enjoy the good views etc. Their rented vehicle got robbed with all their belongings of the luggage's they brought and packed when they arrived in the bay. The sad part is the fact they just checked out their hotel too and arrived at the beach..
How devastating! I am so glad that at the very least, y'all are physically safe. I know you said this isn't about asking for money, but I would love to send even a little to help.

Ugh that just sucks - it’s violating to be burglarized and don’t feel bad about being sad! My house got broken into 7 years ago and it took me years to not be upset by it. Do you have a Renters Policy? typically that type covers theft even in your vehicle - if not look into it to see if it would help you in this type of situation - it may be prudent for you when you carry your inventory with you! We do have renters insurance, but unfortunately, it won't be covered because we didn't have a specific one. It sucks, but I'm glad we're okay and they didn't take everything haha. I am just curious how they managed to roll up, turn over the van, and then filled their car and no one saw anything or stopped them. But also I would watch etsy and online sell markets to see if they resell your merch.
I blame this entirely on the crime culture of LA and not having secure parking lots for people to feel safe in. I'm so so sorry this happened to you. Crying is human.
Lesson learned, never leave valuables in your vehicle. I know it’s dumb but people break into cars for something stupid like a chocolate bar let alone mystery packages in a van.
I still would have filed a police report regardless of being a tourist or out of state. Otherwise you can't file insurance claims without those reports. Still sorry it happened. It sucks. I had a break in at my house last year.. came home to the burger. Sucked realizing how much stuff he stole from me. Including my pencil case I use for cons, which held my card reader.. and my hotspot I was 2 months from paying off from verizon. (no they didn't care it was stolen. I had to still pay it off) Like everyone has said. Probably find the stuff months later at swap meets in the area, or even here in Arizona. I live in AZ, the culprits from my house break in were from California. Its a common crime area. Sucks.

Sorry to be random in your comments section but by any chance were you at Afest in Arlington Texas a few weeks ago and if so did you sell something like a taiyaki phone charm at your booth? I had gotten one for my sister but the charm recently broke off and she's devastated about it. I was hoping to see if I could track down the artist to buy replacement.
If the theft happened on the convention grounds like in their parking garage, I could maybe see the convention center or AX being partially responsible. From the looks of the video though, it was broken into after the con and away from the convention center. So you can't really blame the con for where people choose to leave their vehicles or merchandise.
@@jadedtrinity1810If AX wanted a new location, they'd have to move out of Los Angeles entirely. This is the only convention center they can use that fits this many people. And unfortunately, downtown LA is pretty rough.
