A cool app called Beat MP3 (or something like that I don’t pay much attention to app names) it’s a solid rhythm game that lets you use YT videos for the music. Basically a very fun time killer.
@@GmodPlusWoW Not really. There are 3 parts to an A press: When you press down on the button, when you hold the button down, and when you release the button. Wii sports story : my grandma kept seeing it on the news. She was baffled that it was impossible to buy a Wii. She decided she was getting one and brought me to gamestop. In front of us was someone returning one, sealed. She then bought that Wii. This was maybe 2 weeks after launch when it was a HUGE deal on the news that these things were selling out and impossible to buy. To this day she always brings up "just go to the store and get one" whenever a tech product is on the news for being hard to buy. She cites her Wii buying experience and believes that people are just unwilling to go to the store.
Wow, you weren't kidding, Jirard. That #1 game on this list gave me the immediate response, "What the f***?" I mean, that's cool, keep loving what you love. I personally never saw the draw of that series, but you are entitled to your opinions.
Yeah, I don't count Mario 1. Part of the charm of launch games is that developers are making for brand new hardware. But Mario 1 wasn't a launch title on Famicom. It was made with a year of experience behind it.
I did love Tetris, and had it on my original GameBoy. But the one that really stands out to me was Quarth. Similar style, but I became obsessed with it.

Wii Sports was like, "hey, what if a video game wasn't always about progressing towards a singular goal, and was more about just having fun". Absolutely rad launch title, I genuinely wish the Switch had launched with something similar (1, 2, Switch does NOT count!) so that the kids of today could hopefully have a similar moment of just having fun without that need for the game giving you a gold star when you do good.
Thank you for having your own opinion over sonic adventure, i love it even to this day and get sick of people saying how rubbish it was
I can get on board with #1. It’s basically a must own game for any system you can play it on and pretty much defined how its genre was handled.
I played Space Cadet pinball on my school's computers in high school! Did not expect to see it on a top ten, nice shoutout Jirard!
"Better than Skifree, or Solitaire" I haven't watched a completionist video in months and this is what I come back to? Okay, sure.
So glad to see Time Splitters make this list. One of my favs!
Man, I can really get behind of of these games! Excellent job Mr completionist!
Luigi's Mansion was probably the most memorable launch title for me.
It's not terribly scary but it was scary enough and I look back on it fondly.
Space cadet is such a throw back. I remember playing it on my mom’s computer when I was little. Need to redownload for my computer
Space cadet 3D was part of my childhood and i had forgotten it. Thanks Jirard now i remembered it again
I’ve got to say this is one smashing list, my man! Can’t say I really disagree! Though I must say, Soul Calibur definitely made some crazy waves in the 3D fighter genre.
I was literally just thinking of and re-downloaded that space pinball game last week. Such a classic, so many afternoons wasted as a 10 year old trying to light up all those yellows
I don't know why exactly but as soon as the music for (from) breath of the wild you choose to play's beat droped and you stated to ask all the questions we ask our selves. I literally got gosse bumps.
Top 10 games you like that nobody seemingly talks about. I think we all have games like that.
Can't talk about the Gamecube launch day lineup without Rouge Squadron 2 IMO.
I would love to hear something amongst the lines of "top 10 most memorable games to complete" or "top 10 games to re-complete"
Annnnd my day is complete. I think Super Mario World probably shoulda been on this list, but hey. And admittedly, I played a bunch of Space Cadet 3D back in the day. Awesome video!
Definitely Halo - Xbox Crash- PS1 PS4- Infamous Second Son PS3 - Resistance PC - Space Cadet PS2- Kingdom Hearts GB - Super Mario Land
First time I see Second Son in the comments, I loovveed that game
I called the top 3! At first I wasn't sure if Jirard was gonna be fully aware of the full extent of the historic significance of Tetris... and then I remembered... He was in the documentary that informed me of said importance.
No rage from me for that number one. I think that's a great choice.
I actually didn't mind this top 10 was actually really good
I am pleasantly surprised you didn't mention the SNES. Your #1 pick proved that no one is as predictable as they may seem.
Wow, you weren't kidding, Jirard. That #1 game on this list gave me the immediate response, "What the f***?" I mean, that's cool, keep loving what you love. I personally never saw the draw of that series, but you are entitled to your opinions.
Was a nice list thanks for making it! I really digged number 10, hearing you talk about gaming culture is always nice.
My Top 10 Launch Games
1. Pilotwings
2. Pilotwings Resort
3. Pilotwings 64
...and then 7 others, I don't care.
Yeah, I don't count Mario 1. Part of the charm of launch games is that developers are making for brand new hardware. But Mario 1 wasn't a launch title on Famicom. It was made with a year of experience behind it.
Your #1 is the best. Tetris is the first video game I ever played and it's got a special place in my heart.
Right at the end I was fully expecting Super Mario World to be number 1, then Tetris hits and I go, "No, yeah, that should totally be there."
Luigi's mansion and SMB were what I got for the gamecube for the Christmas after launch. Great combo and so many great memories!
I did love Tetris, and had it on my original GameBoy. But the one that really stands out to me was Quarth. Similar style, but I became obsessed with it.
I love you for putting timesplitters on this
Il never forget how mind blowing it was seeing M64 thru a department store window for the first time, even seeing it in magazines wasnt enough to prepare me for the fluidity and verticality, good times.
Weird one nothing, this was a great one!
Thank you for representing my entire childhood lol
