Common Honda civic radiator leak

Here is where my 2000 honda civic hx d16y5 radiator started leaking. It was tricky to find because the factory radiator had a black foam lining towards the front bumper for a cushion. I kept getting a little lower on coolant, and after driving coolant was all over the top of the radiator and reservoir tank and the black foam was wet, but it wasn't dripping or forming puddles under my car. I couldn't tell where it was coming from for sure.
I cleaned the whole radiator area with a garden hose and let it dry, then took it for a quick drive and returned. The black foam was soaked but the rest of the radiator didn't have very many splatters. So I ripped the foam lining out and sure enough, there was the leak - coming from the seal where the plastic part meets the metal crimping.
Apparently the foam soaked it up like a sponge and then the wind coming through while driving blew it everywhere. If you have recently developed a leak and narrowed it down to your radiator, this seam may be a good place to check!

i was driving today and noticed my temperature of the car was at max. i pulled over and realized my radiator coolant tank was bubbling, sizzling and steaming out. i turned the car off and added more antifreeze. Even then after i began to drive again about 15 seconds later it began to bubble again. i also beleive that the radiator fan hadnt been spinning. can u tell me what to check please. 2000 honda civic se. thank you

Haha just threw a new rad in today. That's EXACTLY where my leak was.

this is where my leak was coming from even with a pressure tester i wasnt able to find it
had to really clean it and see where
once the car was warm i saw it was sputtering very lightly there

My 97 honda civic hx is smoking from the engine by the intake after a drive is that happening to your civic?

Mine was I replaced it and it's doing it already only been a year since replaced
