Omnichord (OM-84) cover - 100,000 Fireflies by the Magnetic Fields

- RUclips tells me my account's been inactive for two years which is a long time - I have been mostly playing keyboards in other people's bands and still totally failing to write my own stuff and haven't been covering anything much really.
BUT I remembered my account password, and I got an OM-84 Omnichord a couple of months ago and haven't really used it for much except late-night jamming with friends so I thought I'd put together a quick and dirty (but with a bit of multitracking!) cover.
Sorry about the traffic noise - I live in a London flat really close to a road but it's SO hot here at the moment and I couldn't bring myself to shut the window.
I think I did a really bad ukulele cover of this once but I must have taken it down because I can't find it anywhere on my account. Anyway this is 100,000 Fireflies, which is my favourite Magnetic Fields song.

I like many thousands if not millions had missed Susan since she left the band so early
I heard them before but I was warmly surprised to hear them in Israel in '91 (during a week break from the frontlines in the Persian Gulf I war) and I bought their album. You can't imagine how soothing was their music and your wife's unique voice to someone missing Home, Boston and School I was cut off to go on active duty.... I think I worn that record.
I'm very sadden by these news and can't imagine how much deeply you must be missing her now. I'm sure you are not alone, we are many that will stand with you in missing her and her memory and Spirit echoes left through her Art will stand Time, all of us and many more never known her now will honor her so like Emma did so lovely here. My most sincere condolence.

What a beautiful sentiment. Her voice was and remains such a part of my life, year after year.

Thank you. I thought the song was impossible to cover (for a number of reasons), and still when i first heard this, i thought it hadn't worked. But after a couple of replays, i want to thank you because the arrangement is perfect in the idea. Now, apart from the original, i can't think of a "100000 fireflies" not like this one.

LindieLee I think the OM-84. The later ones are fun but I don't like that you have to hold the chord buttons down to play in manual mode, and the 84 does what it does brilliantly.

playlistener1 it says right there in the description that it was too hot to shut the window? It was the hottest week of the year and 45 celsius outside (I live in the UK - nobody has air-con). I like playing the omnichord, but I'm not going to suffer that for a video with audio that's just pulled off a webcam anyway.
I don't see where I've been overly modest - if I talked myself up, I'd get criticised for thinking too highly of myself, because this is the internet. I think you might be projecting. Cheers though!
