I'm from Dayton, Ohio and my very first concert was Zapp and Roger featuring Shirley Murdock in 1990 at the Dayton Convention Center. I was 12 years old. I still remember that concert! Amazing times❤
John Singleton as director is who I first thought of when the unsung video of Roger came out. All the comments and stories written to his surviving family( on RUclips) were really nice reading. John Singleton had passed as well. Even though it was a tragic ending to Rogers career the story and legacy live on. A whole lot of people were uplifted by him and his family with their showmanship and stage presence. I never did get to his concerts but family family told me all about it. I'll be watching for sure.🤞
I met him in the mid 90s. I was a Night Manager at Echo Sounds Recording Studios in Los Feliz near Hollywood in Los Angeles. A one of a kind musician, he will be remembered for having his own style and a unique voice.

Sad, tragic, and disturbing story. I grew up a serious fan and collector of the Troutman Brothers' work during the 1980s, and I was devastated upon hearing this when it occurred. May their brilliant work remain with us for eternity. Great work and documentary by the way.

His older brother was a bit jealous that Roger received a lot of money through royalties because he did write mostly all their material and deserved it. But he did not deserve to die for it….
