Awesome review! I just ordered 3 of them today. I already have 3S 2200 packs for my helicopters and planes, so I'm extremely glad to hear 2200s will fit. I have a GPS unit i plan to stick on there and see how they do. Maybe getting 3 of them will show any defects or reliability figures to share as well. Looking forward to this weekend
Yes, all three are identical. Same speed, same turning capability, same overall characteristics (leaks and all!) These are absolutely the best investment in RC stupidity I've ever made! They are so much fun!!! Get one (or three!), you won't regret it! Haha You do want to get a better charger if you're not already up to date on RC support equipment. You absolutely DO NOT want to rely on the low voltage cutoff beeper thing these have built in. You will completely destroy your batteries if they get that low. Use a timer or if you have a telemetry radio setup, switch to that. Otherwise, the stock batteries are freaking solid. I run them next to much, much higher output, name-brand batteries and these don't slouch whatsoever. One of them is already all puffed up though, so that's where the battery LVC warning comes from. Batts are cheap so I won't hold it against the manufacturer. But I will say they need a way to update it or they should fix it for their customers. Last, these things leak reaaaaally bad. Like, plan on 2-3ozs of water in the back every time you open them up. The problem is the steering rod silicone gasket is much too large for the shaft. And the grommet is not sealed to the bulkhead. I ended up putting some silicone glue on the grommet and it reduced the water intrusion drastically. But it's still not dry inside by any means. The top seal is perfect and it doesn't seem to come from anywhere else after doing a bunch of hold-down testing (only the stern was left out of the water). As soon as the back end gets dunked, you've got a leak. Try to avoid using reverse as much as possible, but even with just pure forward speeds, plan on keeping a terry towel handy to mop up the insides of the boat after every run and make sure it's dry, dry, dry before putting the lid on for storage. I usually don't install the clamps all the way on when I'm the box, but it's all plastic and any moisture left in there will NOT be able to escape. Overall though, I haven't seen much corrosion on any of them and were in super brackish water (salt water). The components and build are fantastic and there's no complaining about anything at this price! I'm overwhelmingly happy with them, problems and all
From my understanding the receiver is part of the ESC right? Any idea how hard it would be to strap my own receiver there? Would I need to get a completely new ESC?
Yes, the RX is integrated into the ESC. You would have to get a new ESC to put your own RX in there. The intergrated ESC and RX gives you some useful features though, like the boat beeping and flashing the controller when power is low.
@@ChinaExpatsRC Thanks for the reply, appreciate it! Yeah that's what I was afraid of. Regarding the battery warning, I could easily send that info as telemetry with my own receiver so it wouldn't be much of an issue I think. Do you know what kind of ESC I could get that would be a fairly simple replacement and would work with the existing water cooling? Kinda new to these vehicles haha.
@@invertedflow You can replace it with a basic brushless boat ESC, grab one that's waterproof and has the input and output tubes for the water cooling. Just make sure it fits. The boat is quite tight inside!
@@ChinaExpatsRC thanks a lot for help :) Just one last noob question if I may. I figure I'd need to unscrew the frame open to get to the ESC, what is the type of sealant used on the seam to seal it back?
When you turn over, when the battery alert sounds, you can't come back without returning to the original. At that time, there is no choice but to enter the water and go get it. (I am experienced)
It's a feature that's lacking from a lot of boats. Not sure why. Yeah reverse doesn't work too well and drags the boat down into the water. But I've been in many situations where reversing out of weeds helped.
Rapid little boat! Great intro too.
Do you have a video on how to oil the bearing and shaft ?

Love the presentation intro.
How long does the battery 2200 last?! And another question, will it be better than the hj816?! Thanks

@@invertedflow Silicon Sealant will work well.
The control distance is how many meters ?
Probably further than your eyes can see the boat.
Is this better than ft012? Do you know if the parts are interchangeable between the two like the inner cover?
They look like essentially the same boat. But I don't have an ft012 to directly compare.
Wl916 is better and faster
what was your run time on that 2200? thanks
Bit longer than the stock 1800mah. Depends a lot on how much you gun it. About 8-10 minutes.
When you turn over, when the battery alert sounds, you can't come back without returning to the original. At that time, there is no choice but to enter the water and go get it. (I am experienced)
Ohh...really?? When the boat beep sounds, cant do self righting??? What a timing...
How much amps is the ESC ?
30
Czy wy też tak macie że po 3 minutach , łódź zwalnia, mimo że bateria nie pika???
This is a very slow boat of perhaps 45 klh. With a 35mm propeller and other adjustments you could reach the 55 klh
4s battery= 55kmh. ESC is rated for 5s! Who knows what speed it'll reach with a 5s battery
reverse is great... gets you outta many bad situations that can happen on the water..

If only it were twice as large.
I've got another review of the Vector SR80, which is over twice as large and faster. But you can't really bash it as much.
Get UDI022 Tylosaurus. It's almost twice the price but can go faster and handles up to 6s batteries. This one can handle 5s before you need a new ESC
