- With Union Pacific #4014 being fired up for the first time in 60 years, I felt this was a good time to celebrate that. Rather, in a bit of an unconventional manner. In a most scientific and ethical manner, I've gone about testing the famous 4-8-8-4 'Big Boy' locomotive in numerous trials in different global locations. From the US to France and UK to Japan, 4014 is going to face some interesting trials. How would UP 4014 react to these scenarios? Find out here. Hope you enjoy(ed) and thanks for watching!

A Big Boy pulling JR 103 series EMUs looked really cool and really stupid at the same time. Plus, it would technically only be able to run on the Shinkansen lines or certain parts of the Ou Main Line in Tohoku, because standard gauge, and even then it shits on the tight loading gauge...

I think big boy visiting japan will be VERY inaccurate cus most japan railways lines were on the cape gauge (narrow gauge), and it has to be on the Shinkansen line cus it was standard gauge.
