So intrigued with this bicycle you are using, it just looks amazing. Love your storytelling, so inviting and entertaining 😍. I've added a cycle trip through France to my bucket list!
Great commentary - so refreshing after the “techie” type travelogues explaining exactly what gear ratios they have got on their Bromptons and which £600 tent they are travelling with. Looking forward to Part 2. “Countrysidey” what a wonderful new adjective!
Absolute blast watching this adventure.., both 'funny' and well presented - wonderfully palatable (most especially with a bottle of the 'Hospices de Vinyard' wine to accompany the video) ~ just say'n... 😎
I love your videos and your narration is so funny. I've traveled a lot with bicycle, but this summer will be my first with brompton!!!!! thanks for sharing your adventures

I have really enjoyed your hilarious voice-over on your bike ride trough France, don't know if it is that Irish mentality , the self spot or just because it's plain funny. Looking forward to the sequel.
Loved every moment of it! Watched it three times… the sudden Veganism in front of the cows, cracks me up every time. (Also the flies!) Looking forward to part 2!
Wonderful! You are so funny. Please keep them coming. I could listen to you forever. 🤣🤣 I’m a Brompton owner too and Brompton should appoint you as their ambassador in chief! 🚴♀️🚴♀️

Thanks Lee 🤗 I didn't share my route because I didn't preplan it. Which often meant that I ended up cycling along occasionally dangerous and/or not paved roads. But check out the Cote-de-Nuit and Via Rhona cycle paths ✨
Came across your Brommie video randomly. Very cool. I’ve got one, same color, M-bars. But haven’t done a trip like yours. Too cool. Merci for the inspiration to travel and explore more 🙏🏽
@@Lady_Brompton The solitude & slow travel is my usual 😅, but seeing newer spaces (and corners in old ones) is always a delight. Sketching potential trips on the whiteboard now ✍🏽
This was so funny, i loved the video, let us see more! I just came home this weekend from a bike trip through the alps from salzburg in austria to grado in italy. It is really great to cycle for several day and make all sorts of discoveries. Just we had to take a car transport our bikes and then go back by bike transporter, and thats why such a foldy might be a better fit for me.. How did you like the brompton for riding all day long, was it comfortable also while climbing hills?
First of all thanks so much for the lovely comment! What I can say for now is that what I love is being able to choose which position to cycle in. So you can choose sporty or a more leisurely almost Dutch bike type style. This has been such an eye opener because with my racer I always had neck pain after about two hours. I also have a very uncool granny style soft padded saddle which has been an absolute pleasure. So uphill? Yeah the brompton can do it! BUT not when it is loaded up with gear. So my recommendations would be to cycle from campsite to campsite, offload your gear and head into the mountains for a light day trip. Yes it's harder than other bikes but it's also kind of fun and a challenge :)
@@Lady_Brompton thanks for taking the time to answer and the insights, it makes much sense to me. i have to try a brompton myself, sometime soon.. ;) Looking forward to your next update!
Great video Sophie. Beautiful French scenery along with a hilarious narrative - I nearly choked on my Shiraz😄. Happy pedalling and keep taking the tablets...😁
Fun video as I’m newer to Brompton and only bought it because it stores easy in my boat but now I find myself watching Brompton touring videos. I hope you make some more as I will be following along.
Really enjoy the travels and your commentary. Can you tell what kind of tent do you have? Looks so spacious, is it compact when folded? What’s the weight of it? You probably can have a special video on the gears you use while bike camping, and another one about how to find a nice (& free) camping spots along the way.😉
Hi vs. Glad you enjoyed it 🤗 I'm not really into the whole nerdy gear stuff but let's get nerdy then shall we? Tent: Big Agnes Blacktail 2 bike packing tent. I think it weighs about 3kg with everything included. You don't need such a spacious tent if you're cycling alone. It's ideal for two people though. My brompton has six gears. I used them all. No free campsites in France. Best to go in latest May/June as prices double in July. I was paying 8€ a night at the beginning (June) and by the end in July I was paying 25€ (which is a rip off for a bit of grass/ no electricity). Wild camping is strictly forbidden but next time I would definitely try that 🤗
The Hotêl-Dieu de Beaune is one of the most stunning buildings I have ever seen. Amazingly, it was still in use as an "hôpital" within the French health system until the 1970s... that since 1443. The day we were there a French film crew were interviewing an elderly lady who had been among the last to be a nurse in the hospital.... (but she had NOT been there since the start!)
Terrific videos! Thank you! I like the 'bite' size of less than 10 min. Would echo the polite request for route information, and maybe equipment (for us gear heads (what tent is that??)), perhaps just one over view, or a 5 second pause-able blip at the beginning or end of the episode. Thanks - you're living our dream!
Hey Randy 🤗 I wouldn't follow my route as it was pretty messy (see episode 3) but you'll be safe if you follow the Via Rhone cycling path to the coast. My tent is the big agnes blacktail hotel bike packing tent - definitely a better idea for two people! You're welcome and happy you enjoyed the videos!
Hi Krystal, thanks for the comment! I actually didn't want to plan a particular route to challenge myself and see how comfy I'd be without having everything planned out. I just had two things to start with: 1. An easy to reach train station in a country that I would like to explore. 2. A final destination to reach within that country. It really was a calming and rewarding experience to know that you'll be grand with just your bike, tent and some food. The route will find you! 🤣🤗
Love your videos Sophie! You get it. Forgive me for the über boring question: we‘re gonna do Brompton touring in southern France (from Berlin) coming spring and we need to get a tent. Do you recommend yours?
Ah thanks Aviv 🤗 Yes as you mentioned 'we' I assume you are a couple and in that case my tent is perfect! It's light, roomy and honestly I appreciated the extra little room in the front so that you're not sleeping on your gear and lady brompton was also safe and snug: www.generalprepper.de/camping/zelte/big-agnes-blacktail-hotel-2-greengray?twsCurrency=EUR&twsShipmentCountry=DE&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAuNGuBhAkEiwAGId4akxv0JXE2WeOvMjwaKpXnT1wOLu8_gZKLdB7O2q99KA0tGHHkn7YexoCaXEQAvD_BwE It was a bit too big for one person but I've tested it out as a pair and it was ideal. Entry and exit from opposite sides was important for us too 🙏 Exciting travels ahead for you both! ❤️
