I made my fair share of mistakes when I was starting out with colour pencils. From using the wrong materials to not yet understanding the techniques, I want to revisit some of my earliest mistakes in the hope they can help others.

Very helpful, thank you.❤
Doing all the mistakes and I already knew I was a beginner artist, I abandoned my art for years but oof you hit me where my disproportioned weird little creatures are 😂I like 'em personally but it's something I've noticed the more well developed artists feel they HAVE to speak out against rather than just scroll past. You're a blessing, at least I now know why artists are being... let's say... impolite.
My biggest mistake was strictly working in graphite and charcoal. Color for me was taboo. Then it happened. I got a set of Berol Prismacolor. Now, I am a colored pencil ✏️ super fan.
I am currently using Fabriano watercolor paper as i have seen others use. I am drawing a wolf and find it looks grainy when I take a photo to check on my progress.
I may have to switch to the bristol board. Thanks for this video!
is that Bristol board paper similar to poster paper? or is that just another name for the same thing?
Hi, I draw quite well, but I can't use colors, can I ask what you advise?
How can I learn? Thanks in advance.
Derwent Lightfast have a really good color selection and are lightfast too! Highly recommend giving them a try, I love them
@kimbernard8409 ok merci beaucoup !
I agree with kimbernard8408. Since you already have great quality pencils Derwent Lightfast would complement the pencils you already own. I have a small set of Derwent Chromaflow. They have a thin barrel which I do not enjoy using. They are creamy but I still prefer the quality and barrels of Luminance, Polychromos, and Derwent Lightfast pencils.
