Totally agree about the OP being the most beautiful watch they make as well as the cheapest. I can imagine if they put a super high price tag on this it would be much more desirable. There's some about the Zenith that is very attractive, defo on my bucket list along with the Peter Blake!
I was also following a few brands that are not omega or Rolex . Looking at panerai , iwc and Breitling and then I visited JLC at London boutique .. am in love with JLC POLARIS enamel dial .. it’s sporty it’s elegant it’s so perfect 🤩.. not sure if you had a chance to put it on .. must try am sure my next watch is a JLC. Their ultra thin is perfect dress watch .. beat I have seen for the price and Swiss made What are your thoughts !?
Love Panerai, and specifically the Luminor is a must. I do not like white dials at all and generally in the secondary market it will not do well. Of course this is not important if you never plan to sell or you just love white dials. But most importantly when buying a panerai it must be a Luminor, and it should have a sandwich dial. All the best...
I bought a Panerai submersible and its’s an amazing brand. The fit and ability to change strap on whim takes ownership to another level. I would also seriously consider the Radiomir, 40 mm. I owned a Zenith El Primero (Open face) which was a lovely watch but it never fitted my wrist perfectly and the steel strap wasn’t comfortable. Sold it on in the end. Good Luck!
Would you consider a Master Control Chrongraph Calendar JLC Brendan? Bit more than your budget but think it would come in with a discount. Big fan of channel btw, keep up the good work.
I would stretch it out to a 42mm submersible bianco PAM02223 if you want a white dial Panerai. I feel like a 1950 case is an absolute must for a first Panerai purchase, it looks more refined and worthy of a luxury watch than the more basic Bettarini cases that are often in entry level models.
The white hang tag will tell you the colour dial the OP was originally sold with. For instance, Blue OP 41 has a full reference number of 124300-0003 whereas your green is 124300-0005. I believe the yellow was 0004. The Zeniths will age poorly. Cartier better in other colours. Why consider another OP when there’s so many options out there. If you want to stick with Rolex try a DJ in the same blue dial, but on a jubilee and with fluted to mix things up a little. Failing that the Panerai would be my choice of those, but would also look at JLC and IWC in that price bracket.
Brendan , as you probably may or may not know have commented on your channel before, I have owned countless Omegas, countless Rolex , have GMT Master II now, owned the odd Tudor, IWC, Tag, Cartier. But if you are looking at getting another piece , consider a dress piece, and the two makes I think are highly underrated and one of which I have owned for a long time is JLC dress watch, I have, the reserve de marche. Have a look, but Zenith are just great watches. Regards Nandu
I’d have to say that Yellow OP looks amazing. Not sure about using the term fake, I’m assuming though is the yellow dial a fake yellow dial or is it a OEM yellow dial from Rolex? Anyway I just picked up an SPGA 083 spring drive with champagne dial, and I’m absolutely Blown away by the quality. It’s a 2015 so has Seiko at the top and grand Seiko at 6 o’clock. The power reserve indicator is just painted on and not cut in so less obtrusive, but I quite like it. And all for £1600 mint from Japan plus 20% VAT. However, I do like the evolution nine with the open case back and power reserve on the back of the new ones. I do some research on an older spring drive and get a yellow OP. Good luck on the watch journey, I look forward to seeing what you buy. Brendan.
I fancy a zenith, It's a buyers market but still have to think investment, I own a bi colour submariner diamond serti dial bought in 2004 new and a JC deepsea 116660 brand new 2015. I still love wearing them... i'm saving and saving and saving for another Rolex, this time a Daytona Oysterflex Ghost or Paul Newman. always loved the pano too but never pulled the trigger
Have you considered something from JLC such as the polaris or master control collection ? Also you should be able to get a decent discount on the panerai but they always put me off with they're bullshit about hiding that most of the moments aren't in-house even though they like to act like they are. (Although they are not the only watch company to do this.)
I think it’s Time you get something different from a Rolex and an Omega. I have the white birch spring drive and love it. (The spring drive is better than the hi-beat) I like the look of the Zenith I also have an IWC pilot watch that you may like. Try the Mark XX
@@IDKline Indeed, I’ve heard that ADs won’t touch anything not bought directly from them. It’s a shame because some of the discontinued ones are sweet.
Hi Brandon if you are asking I'd buy out of your pick's I'd go for the Cartier I've tried this model and the green dial looks great 👍 I've tried on the zenith the bracelet felt cheap and I no it's not a cheap watch the Rolex op is a great watch if you can afford to have the same watch with a different colour dial go for it. I've got a watch I like and have bought four the same model but different colour face's. great video thanks John 👍
Difficult choice. I love my chronomaster sport, I activate the chrono just to watch the 1/10 second rotations. My luminor is great but I have the hand wind and regularly forget and it stops. 🤦🏻♂️. I had a Cartier de santos but sold it as I couldn’t get a good fit with no micro adjust so had it on the leather all the time. Don’t buy one of those.
Gotta say first and foremost, so stoked not to see yet another Omega is doomed video! Thank you! 🤣 Now as far as the watches goes, the Panerai white sandwich is absolute fire! I picked up the PAM1371 white dial 40mm, love it! Next choice out of the options you listed, the Zenith Chronosport in pink is freaking awesome! Just oozes total style! The OP, meh, nice but pass for me. The GS, not even an option, delete delete delete! The Santos in green is cool, not a huge fan but it's got a vibe to it.
Like your Panerai choice given your other divers in your collection. Although I personally prefer the classic black sandwich dial Luminor in 44 mm as a big wrist guy. Also as a curved ball, given you looking at OP and tool watches, ever thought about a IWC Mark XX pilot which would tick both boxes and be a bit different in your collection?
If you buy a Zenith get it pre owned or minimum 30% of RRP. I fear you're making the same mistakes all over again though. I'd recommend consolidating to 3 watches, chilling for a year and seeing how you feel.
Fun episode for us...nothing better than the hunt...especially with other folks money! That Panerai is pretty special as the GMT is not their usual thing, but I love how subtle it is. I have tried on the regular Luminor in 40mm and it fits so nicely for my small wrist. I think you can handle larger size than I, as your Aqua Terra World Timer looks like it was made for you. But that Zenith is a real standout. The coolest thing IMO are the arabic numerals instead of the indices...But I'd have to see that green is person as I have not yet. You've probably seen them, but i figured i'd give them a shout out.
