The Duchess of Cambridge speaks at the launch of mentally healthy schools

Today, The Duchess of Cambridge gave a speech at the launch of 'Mentally Healthy Schools' - Heads Together's new initiative to support children's mental well-being in schools. Mentally Healthy Schools has been designed to help every primary school in England better support their pupil's mental well-being. It is a free & easy to use website for teachers, where they can find reliable & practical resources to help support their pupils' mental health. With 1 in 10 children experiencing a mental health issue before they turn 11, improving well-being in junior schools is critical, and is at the heart of The Duchess' work with Heads Together. We will be piloting Mentally Healthy Schools in selected primary schools over 2018, and it will soon become available to all junior schools in England, expanding to Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland in due course.
